What happens if I run out of space on a single drive

Featured Replies

So I have a bunch of drives and always been scared to let them get close to filling up. So when there is less then 500GB I run unBALANCE and move a few hundred gigs off the almost full drive to the drive with the most free space.

My shares are setup by "Most-free" and drives keep getting close to full due to media upgrading. 8GB movie becomes 30gb and before you know it drive2 is 99% full.

My question is - What would happen if I just let it go?

Example:

Drive 2 - 18GBs free.

A movie that resides on that drive, is only 4GBs and is being automatically upgraded (radarr deletes the old and replaces it) to 50GB file. That is 28GBs more then what is available on that drive.

Any  idea what would happen?

When the free space (in your case) on the drive reaches 100Gb, all files will automatically be written to another disk.

As a point of information, if you click on the 'Help' icon (a "?" in a circle) and 'help' will be displayed for any option on most tabs.  Here is the help for the parameter that controls this action:
