Unable to add parity drive

Featured Replies

I'm trying to add a parity drive to my system, but it's telling me invalid expansion. As shown in the screenshots

Any ideas?

Looks like you are also trying to add disk4 and disk5 at the same time as the parity drive, is that correct?

It says you may not add new disk(s) and also remove existing disk(s).

Did you remove any disks?

That is correct

/u/nitebleu over on /r/unraid was able to help me. I had to start the array, stop it, add the parity disk, and then start it again. Unraid is now seeing my parity drive

Yes, you can't add data drives and parity drives at the same time without doing further steps.
