Kernel Panic with the latest update

Featured Replies

Hello,

I just installed the latest update and on reboot, I have this on the screen:

Kernel panic - not syncing: stack-protector: Kernel stack is corrupted in: vsnprintf+0x4e0/0x4ef
Kernel Offset: disabled
---[ end Kernel panic - not syncing: stack-protector: Kernel stack is corrupted in vsnprintf+0x4e0/0x4ef ]---

So I no longer have access to my server: /

I need your help, thanks

Start by redoing the flash drive.

How to do this without losing the server configuration?

  • Community Expert

Backup config folder, recreate flash, restore config folder.

If the system is beeping, then you've got a hardware issue.  Since it sounds like its beeping like crazy after the boot up, I'd say CPU fan isn't running.

The fan works however ...

I even have several fans and several sensors. The CPU does not exceed 40 ° C, same for my GPUs (the description of the config is in signature)

I just restarted it and the server has been running normally for 15 minutes (a parity check has started, let's hope nothing untoward happens during this procedure, with 7 4 TB hard disks (including 2 for parity), it will not take 5 minutes! :(

For the moment, the server is running but I leave the subject open because the situation is still strange and even if the situation seems resolved, it may not be the case.

EDIT : The server is still running smoothly ...

I too started getting errors after I upgraded. Capture.PNG.484f7f767befd87fa8e576c807a4684e.PNGServer has been running stably for years until now.

If that's during boot like this thread is about redo your flash drive.
