novorum
To make my setup a bit more secure, I want to encrypt the disk array. After making a backup elsewhere, I've cleared the whole data array and set the disk format to xfs-encrypted. Then, after selecting a keyfile, I started the array and formatted the disks. This went well but after a reboot I'm asked to enter the keyfile again. This normal of course but the array won't start after uploading the same keyfile. What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug? bonienl
After selecting the keyfile, you need to click on "Start" Quote Link to comment
novorum
Of course. But still the array is not started saying "Missing key". As a test, I copied the keyfile to /root/keyfile manually and pressed Start again. Now it works. It seems that the uploaded keyfile is not placed at /root/keyfile. I concluded this after several attempts. This might be a bug? Quote Link to comment
bonienl
When selecting a keyfile it is automatically uploaded to the server unless something goes wrong in the file transfer. I am using encryption with a keyfile too and file transfer never failed. How large is your keyfile? there is a maximum supported size of 8MB. Quote Link to comment
novorum
My keyfile is exactly 8MB (8.000.000 bytes). Maybe that is the issue. For now the workaround is working fine and I am planning to automate the boot process, just like SpaceInvader One did in his video. Quote Link to comment
