Ryan B
So apparently there is some sort of issue going on with my server, my wife contacted me about being unable to access our nas and dockers. emails received: 4/3/20 12:20a Event: Unraid Status Subject: Notice [N54L] - array health report [PASS]\ - 8:56a Event: Unraid Cache disk message Subject: Warning [N54L] - Cache pool BTRFS missing device(s) Description: (sdf) Importance: warning - 8:56a Event: Unraid array errors Subject: Warning [N54L] - array has errors Description: Array has 5 disks with read errors Importance: warning Parity disk - (sdb) (errors 69) Disk 1 - (sde) (errors 69) Disk 2 - - (sdd) (errors 66) Disk 3 - (sdc) (errors 66) Disk 4 - (sdg) (errors 66) - 12:20p Event: Unraid Status Subject: Notice [N54L] - array health report [FAIL] Description: Array has 6 disks (including parity & cache) Importance: warning Parity - (sdb) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Disk 1 - (sde) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Disk 2 - (sdd) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Disk 3 - (sdc) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Disk 4 - (sdg) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Cache - (sdf) - standby [OK] Parity is valid Last checked on Thursday, 02/27/2020, 01:48 PM (36 days ago), finding 0 errors. Duration: 21 hours, 12 minutes, 43 seconds. Average speed: 131.0 MB/s ---------------------------- When I got home for work I logged into the gui and the unraid os seemed to be running fine, but all the drives were offline and the dockers were offline and missing the docker page had a ton of errors all over the page. I went ahead and downloaded a diagnostics file, shut down the system and reset all cables and cards and when I booted the system back up it showed a green notification and showed no issues. I am currently running a non correcting parity check to the drives. Thank you ahead of time for any insight you can offer on the matter. Quote Link to comment

Ryan B
if more information is needed let me know. syslog.txt Edited April 4, 2020 by Ryan B Quote Link to comment
trurl
That is not the diagnostics file. Is that all you downloaded? If that is the syslog from before rebooting, it is useful, since the syslog included in diagnostics will not have anything from before reboot. But complete diagnostics will also have a lot more information about your situation and configuration. Tools - Diagnostics, attach complete diagnostics zip file to your NEXT post. trurl
Since you had errors on multiple disks, likely a controller issue. 5 hours ago, Ryan B said: reset all cables and cards and when I booted the system back up it showed a green notification and showed no issues. Exactly zero parity errors is the only acceptable result. Quote Link to comment
Ryan B
Honestly I rebooted the system and it came online picking up all the disks, I then shut it down again and check all cables and cards to be on the safe side. Starting to wonder if Unraid did not just have an error. Also 66% of the way through a parity check and 0 errors so far. n54l-diagnostics-20200403-1549.zip Edited April 4, 2020 by Ryan B Quote Link to comment

Ryan B
Since the first fail email was in regards to a missing cache drive would that cause the array to go into standby and report disk read errors on every drive? Also this server has been online except for recent maintenance for over a year, so hardware conflict or possible failure of MB, drive, cable, or sas expander card? just seems odd to have resolved after a reboot.
