Renew
Hi, I just installed Unraid 6.8.3 I set up one array with 2 12 gig drives and one 12 gig parity. It too almost 24 hours to parity check... It now has file system xfs. How can I change it to be encrypted? Thanks, and any more advice on a new set up? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Disks will need to be formatted (any data there will be deleted), stop array, click each disk and set filesystem to "xfs - encrypted", you can also set default filesystem to the same for any future disks (Settings -> Disk Settings), then choose encryption passphrase to start the array and format the disks (parity will remain valid). Renew
Thank you, do you recommend encrypting the cache? btrfs encrption? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
I don't use encryption, it's up to you if you think you need it or not. Quote Link to comment
Unknownkwita
Is the overprovisioning fix still needed when encrypting a cache ssd? I was reading some old forum threads about HPA and the lack of trim support on encrypted ssds. Quote Link to comment
