Is my container using ssd cache?

Hi guys,

 

I got a hp microserver g8 and unraid with 4 drives and 1 SSD. 

 

I got plex running in a docker container, but how can i know if it is using cache drive? It is on /mnt/user/appdata/plex, should i change it to /mnt/cache?

Depends on how the appdata share is configured, you can see that on the GUI by clicking on Shares, you can also click on "compute" to confirm where it currently resides.

If you want to force it to cache then you can change it to /mnt/cache instead of /mnt/user as an alternative to doing it via the share settings.  Which way you go is up to you, but using /mnt/cache is slightly more efficient as it avoids overheads introduced via the User Share sub-system. 

 

The only caveat is that if you ever remove the cache then the location /mnt/cache will end up in RAM
