magictower Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Hi all... After considerable time I have a decently stable unraid box with all of the streaming bells and whistles (kinda sorta) working. However I have a bit of a problem, as my home internet connection is only 1mbps upload and internet where I live is very, very expensive. So trying to watch shows from unraid remotely, when I'm away, traveling etc is very frustrating. To that end, can I copy my unraid installation to the cloud? Would it be a fairly seemless lift? Or should I find a VPS server somewhere that wont mind me running a home media streaming service? Quote

I can't think of what copying the "unraid installation to the cloud" would even mean. You might buy some space on a server somewhere that allows you to run things, but it wouldn't be Unraid. What are you using on Unraid to deliver the streams? Plex has the ability to sync some of your content to an external drive, for example, and take it with you. But that is a Plex feature, nothing to do with Unraid really. Quote
