Nicolai Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Hello everyone. As I'm new to the world of NAS and unraid, I'm here to ask for advice. I've tried to read up as much as I can about as much as I can, but I still find myself short on answers and knowledge. I see multiple people advicing against using Marvell controllers, as they apparently make a mess when used in WMs. But as I'm not planning on running VMs, would it be okay to use Marvell controllers, since I'm only going to be running a plex server and have it set up as a Network Share? ashman70 Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 In my experience, Marvell controllers can cause all kinds of other problems such as, drives dropping out of the array, drives displaying errors when there are in fact none, it's a headache you don't want to deal with. Look for a Dell HBA H200 or H310 either flashed to IT mode or you can do it yourself, it's easy enough and there is a guide on here somewhere with easy steps to follow. Quote
Nicolai Posted July 28, 2020 Author Posted July 28, 2020 What's the difference between h200 and h310 if you don't mind me asking? Quote
JorgeB Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Port layout, ports on h200 are vertical, on h310 are horizontal. Quote
