ctviggen
I am using version 6.4.0. I have two parity drives, 6 disks, and a cache/hot spare. I got a notice that Parity drive 1 has errors. The parity drive and the cache/hot spare are the same size (3 TB). The cache is formatted in btrfs. Is this process: 1) remove cache 2) "switch" parity drive 1 with cache (any formatting needed?) 3) buy 3TB drive as hot spare 4) toss old parity drive Is this the current procedure for the parity: https://wiki.unraid.net/The_parity_swap_procedure Sorry if this is a simple question, but I only have to do things like this every 1-2 years, so I don't remember how it's done. In fact, in the time the hardware as been working for unraid, I've replaced my home theater computer at least 3 times. It's actually beginning to freak me out, and I'll be posting when I have time about what hardware to buy so that when mine finally goes down, I can effect a quick replacement. Quote Link to comment
trurl
It's not clear from your description that you need to replace parity at all. Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread. Quote Link to comment
