rvoosterhout
One of my harddrives threw an error: blk_update_request: I/O error and got disabled. I just finished an extended smart test on that drive which came out without errors. Since the drive is less than 1 year old, I would like to try to rebuild it, but could somebody explain me how to do that? I know how to rebuild a new drive, but not an existing one. itimpi
The section on Replacing Disks in the online manual covers this scenario. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
https://wiki.unraid.net/Troubleshooting#Re-enable_the_drive Make sure the emulated disk is mounting and contents look correct before rebuilding on top. Quote Link to comment
rvoosterhout
So the drive failed again. Should I replace the drive or is something wrong with my server? It's a Dell R710 with an LSI sas card. behemoth-diagnostics-20201006-1034.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
SMART still looks fine, replace/swap cables/backplane slot with another disk, if after that it happens again to the same disk you should replace it. Quote Link to comment
