Can't create simlink

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm trying to create a simlink for origin games since I cant download or install games to a share.

I'm getting a "The file or directory is not a reparse point." error in the command prompt when I try linking to a mapped drive and to the share directly.

Below is the command prompt mklink's

Quote

C:\Windows\system32>mklink /D "Y:\Origin Games" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games"
The file or directory is not a reparse point.

C:\Windows\system32>mklink /D "\\TOWER\Game Installs\Origin Games" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games"
The file or directory is not a reparse point.

C:\Windows\system32>

I suspect I can't download directly to the share for the same reason, Steam is able to download to the share fine.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Edit: I should also add that I'm running a Windows 10 VM on Unraid
