September 20, 200718 yr I know we have threads about the use of unRAID in the home, thought i would get a bit more specific. Cheers. Ruby I personally have a Mac Mini running Frontrow with DVDAssist
September 20, 200718 yr My (currently in service) HTPC runs Win2000. A second potential HTPC (but not in service in the theater) dual boots as Win XP or WIN XP MCE, but defaults to Win XP. (It has actually been 10 months or more since I booted into MCE, since it did nothing additionally useful for me in my configuration.)
September 20, 200718 yr "MCE" and "Mac" may not be the best way to put this. The first is an application (yeah yeah, "extension to the OS") whereas the other is a hardware platform. Perhaps a poll of which hardware (PC, Mac, Xbox, etc.), OS (Windows, OS-X, Linux, etc.), or application (MCE, Meedio, Myth, Girder, Xlobby, whatever). Bill
September 20, 200718 yr along the lines Billped mentioned: Yes PC with XP-Pro using xLobby and TheaterTek connected to my surround system and a 50" DPL tv.
September 21, 200718 yr I use the hard drive on the HTPC to save HighDef streams. Does anyone send the video over the network to the unraid box? Does it work well?
September 24, 200718 yr I'm currently feeding 2 unRAIDs primarily into a WinXP HTPC running Meedio. However, I'm really looking at switching to LinuxMCE...
September 27, 200718 yr I have two unRAID servers feeding 3 Xboxes running Xbox Media Center (XBMC) in various locations throughout the house. Other than no HD capabilities, I couldn't be happier and even if it could do HD I'd be waiting for the format war to settle in more before I commit my money towards it. If anyone cares, XBMC is currently being ported to Linux so HD playback is around the corner for XBMC (on an HTPC rather than an XBox).
October 2, 200718 yr I have myHTPC interfacing perfectly with my unRaid Server. Pretty slick, relatively high WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor).
