RockDawg
I just upgraded my CPU, MB and RAM and I'm now seeing issues with my two SSDs that never showed any issues before. I'm seeing things like this in the disk log for either of them: Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: failed command: WRITE FPDMA QUEUED Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: cmd 61/00:58:60:4d:85/0a:00:04:00:00/40 tag 11 ncq dma 1310720 ou Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: status: { DRDY } Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: failed command: SEND FPDMA QUEUED Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: cmd 64/01:60:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 tag 12 ncq dma 512 out Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: status: { DRDY } Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: failed command: WRITE FPDMA QUEUED Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: cmd 61/00:68:60:3d:85/0a:00:04:00:00/40 tag 13 ncq dma 1310720 ou Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: status: { DRDY } Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: cmd 60/08:70:a8:16:47/00:00:07:00:00/40 tag 14 ncq dma 4096 in Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: status: { DRDY } Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9: hard resetting link Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300) Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: supports DRM functions and may not be fully accessible Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: supports DRM functions and may not be fully accessible Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: configured for UDMA/133 Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9: EH complete Nov 13 16:54:40 Tower kernel: ata9.00: Enabling discard_zeroes_data Nov 13 16:55:10 Tower kernel: ata9.00: NCQ disabled due to excessive errors Nov 13 16:55:10 Tower kernel: ata9.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x8000 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen Nov 13 16:55:10 Tower kernel: ata9.00: failed command: SEND FPDMA QUEUED Nov 13 16:55:10 Tower kernel: ata9.00: cmd 64/01:78:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 tag 15 ncq dma 512 out Nov 13 16:55:10 Tower kernel: ata9.00: status: { DRDY } Nov 13 16:55:10 Tower kernel: ata9: hard resetting link Nov 13 16:55:11 Tower kernel: ata9: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300) Nov 13 16:55:11 Tower kernel: ata9.00: supports DRM functions and may not be fully accessible Nov 13 16:55:11 Tower kernel: ata9.00: supports DRM functions and may not be fully accessible Nov 13 16:55:11 Tower kernel: ata9.00: configured for UDMA/133 Nov 13 16:55:11 Tower kernel: ata9: EH complete Nov 13 16:55:11 Tower kernel: ata9.00: Enabling discard_zeroes_data This drive becomes unavailable at times and then reappears on a reboot. I am alsu seeing a bunch of virtual devices in Unassigned Drives that were never there before. I attached a screenshot. JorgeB
Issues are affecting both SSDs, try using the AMD SATA controller instead of the Asmedia. 9 hours ago, RockDawg said: I am alsu seeing a bunch of virtual devices in Unassigned Drives that were never there before. I attached a screenshot. For some reason the board isn't displaying the model, but if it has IPMI these look like virtual devices. Quote Link to comment
RockDawg
OK. I will try the other controller. Motherboard is Asrock Rack X399D8A-2T and it does have IPMI. My previous 2 boards also had IPMI and I've never seen that before. With that said, they are no longer showing EDIT: Actually according to the manual I'm not plugged into the Asmedia controller. It says there are only 2 ports on the Asmedia controller (SATA3_6 / SATA3_7). I am using a breakout cable and it's plugged in to SATA3_4 / SATA3_5 / SATA3_8 / SATA3_9.
