  • ASUS PRIME X670-P WiFi (No Sensor Data)

Okay, so lets start of with this. When I started using unRAID, I wasn't really that interested in temperatures, never really have been, BUT, I'm on new hardware and since I bought the biggest All in One cooler I could find, I'm probably not having any CPU temp failures.

unRAID was unable to give out sensor data in 6.10, 6.11, 6.12, and now also in 7b2. So I'm not too sure what's going on here. Also! If I start CPU-Z or try to get the sensor data from HardWare Info, my VM reboots. That was a new experience.

The first picture is from the terminal of unRAID it gives out the sensory data from the psu, which is nice, and one of the m.2 NVMe's i figure and the third is either the GPU, or the second m.2, the second picture is the AMD Experience Suite, and it has no problem giving out any sensory data regarding the dGPU, not strange at all since it's passed through to the VM. The third picture is of HardWare Info. . . . What is HVCI? The fourth picture is of GPU-Z, and it's just more data on the dGPU, the fifth & sixth pictures are also from unRAID . . . so that's about it.

The BIOS/UEFI gives out the CPU and Motherboard temperature data without a hitch, but it's never received by unRAID.

Some Super I/O chips contain embedded sensors. We have to write to
standard I/O ports to probe them. This is usually safe.
Do you want to scan for Super I/O sensors? (YES/no):

Some systems (mainly servers) implement IPMI, a set of common interfaces
through which system health data may be retrieved, amongst other things.
We first try to get the information from SMBIOS. If we don't find it
there, we have to read from arbitrary I/O ports to probe for such
interfaces. This is normally safe. Do you want to scan for IPMI
    interfaces? (YES/no):
Probing for `IPMI BMC KCS' at 0xca0... No
Probing for `IPMI BMC SMIC' at 0xca8... No

Some hardware monitoring chips are accessible through the ISA I/O ports.
We have to write to arbitrary I/O ports to probe them. This is usually
safe though. Yes, you do have ISA I/O ports even if you do not have any
ISA slots! Do you want to scan the ISA I/O ports? (YES/no):

    Probing for `Winbond W83782D' at 0x290... No

Lastly, we can probe the I2C/SMBus adapters for connected hardware
monitoring devices. This is the most risky part, and while it works
reasonably well on most systems, it has been reported to cause trouble
    on some systems.
Do you want to probe the I2C/SMBus adapters now? (YES/no):

    Sorry, no sensors were detected.
Either your system has no sensors, or they are not supported, or
they are connected to an I2C or SMBus adapter that is not
supported. If you find out what chips are on your board, check
    https://hwmon.wiki.kernel.org/device_support_status for driver status.

@Querzion what is the output from sensors-detect (open up a Terminal from Unraid, run "sensors-detect" and press ENTER a few times) and please post your Diagnostics.

I did as you said. Added <sensors> & <sensors-detect> to the post and made a pastebin in the process, before I noticed there was a <> code feature.

    Your Diagnostics are still missing.

Do you know what I/O chip is on the Motherboard?

I have no idea actually. "/

According to that picture that I found online:

    IMG_4907.thumb.jpeg.665b0b3d816e84571a6e302d8b2ef284.jpeg

You have a Nuvoton chip as Super I/O controller.

Please go to the CA App and install the Nuvoton plugin and run sensors-detect again and see if you got more output and if the sensors are listed afterwards:

It seems I got the same output as before, I might need to reboot the computer for it to fully work. . ?

(YES/no):
Probing for `National Semiconductor LM78' at 0x290... No
Probing for `National Semiconductor LM79' at 0x290... No
    Probing for `Winbond W83781D' at 0x290... No
    Probing for `Winbond W83782D' at 0x290...

I submitted something for my board (same chip I believe) a while back but no luck. We may need to wait for a new kernel but as far as I can tell the current one in unraid has the proper drivers so not sure what gives.

I always want to try out the newest hardware at times. It's my own damn fault for not thinking clearly. I could have just bought two GPU's a set of new drives, a 5950X and had a really good time, but I decided to build a whole new computer instead. "/ Stupid of me. "/ Sooner or later it's going to register everything, I just hope it's not going to be a problem hardware wise, In that case I might need to stop using unRAID for a while, which isn't really what I want to do. You can ignore sensors-detect which no sensor found. Your sensors result show k10temp reading, then you can ref. below post to create drivers.conf file to make reading show in Unraid.

You may try modprobe nct6775 force_id=0xd420 and check does superio got the reading.

I think I fixed mine actually.

    https://github.com/trulyspinach/SMCAMDProcessor/commit/673ba36183fd18a2864221a58993e08869ae3564

    Find your chip ID here:

    #define CHIP_NCT6796DR 0xD42A

    #define CHIP_NCT6797D 0xD451

    #define CHIP_NCT6798D 0xD42B

    #define CHIP_NCT6799D 0xD802

    modprobe nct6775 force_id=0xD802 is what I used

    sensors now shows everything

    touch /boot/config/modprobe.d/nct6799.conf

    nano /boot/config/modprobe.d/nct6799.conf

    options nct6775 force_id=0xD802 0 Edit doesn't load on startup

Edit: the modprobe.d doesn't work, does someone know the correct format? Or else we can load on startup via user scripts.
