  1. I don't use iOS but there are a set of settings that many here have had to put into the smb-extra.conf file to get iOS to work as they need it to. See here for what I mean: https://forums.unraid.net/bug-reports/prereleases/unraid-os-version-6100-rc4-available-r1774/?do=findComment&comment=17882 If you are still having problems, start a new thread in the General Support area and I am sure that you will find some iOS/Unraid Gurus who can provide you with some help.

No. IIRC, the FTP service had some special circumstances surrounding it, and the always disabled is the better (and more secure) way of handling it than the previous way where it was always enabled following a reboot Other than that, if you are really a fan of using FTP you should instead be using something like ProFTPd (available in apps) to use this type of service.
