  1. Yes, I use them both, I want to use this as a surveillance server mainly, and in the other nic I receive the data streams from the IP cameras. Both were working fine at the ending of last week.

It's not the first time i get such kind of issues with unraid, when I started using it, I stopped seeing my Unassigned drives. I was more inexperienced back then than today, so I reinstalled it, and corrected the issue, but now, I have done more configs and added more apps and VMs to the system and now I wouldn't like to loose all that time by reinstalling.

    Any other idea?

Crossposting has been considered a bad thing on message boards since before the World Wide Web.

Thanks for the help. Sorry for double posting, you've replied very fast, however in other forums, the answers don't come that fast. It won't happen again.

So I renamed as you said, and lost all my network configs, the result is the same. If I try to install CA I get this error:

Any other idea? All my network is working fine.

  3. Hi guys! Can you take a look at my diagnostics file here? I am not able to reach the internet, specifically CA. I uninstalled it and if I try to install it again I get this error:

    "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg download failure (Network failure)"

Any ideas? i was running fine some weeks ago.

    Thanks!

    hola colegas

    Hi All

I am running into performance issues. Running an i7 with 24GB RAM, and 8 Hikvision cameras. CPU is mostly pegged at 100%

For the stream i have it set to copy, with no audio, ditto for recording.

I have followed SpaceInvaderOne's guide on passing through an nVidia GPU to try and leverage HW acceleration, ditto with QuickSync - still ends up with 100% usage.

I'm writing to an unassigned drive, as per the guide (4TB Purple)

Stream Type - Poseidon, via WebSocket

    I have tried

    Video Codec ...

    Copy

    H.264 NVENC

    H.264 QuickSync Video

    H.264 VA-API Intel Acceleration

I have tried these settings in 'Input' and 'Recording', but now i feel like I am going around in circles. Is there something silly i am missing?

Also, when i used any sort of HW acceleration setting, the Monitor windows are all black.

I'd like to move to Unraid an Shinobi, but not if 8 cameras are going to peg an i7 and 100% 24/7.

    Thoughts?

EDIT - just set the entire thing up again on an AMD 1600AF and 16GB RAM, CPU usage isnt 100%, but its way too high to leave like this 24/7

And log for one of the cameras trying to use nVidia card - "Unknown encoder 'h264_nvenc' ", and "Unknown decoder 'h264_qsv'" for Quicksync

Hello, I have had the same issue, I even bought an Nvidia 1050 card to help my CPU and I couldn't make the CPU workload go down to a 5 or 7%, it remained with only 2 reolink (RLC410 and RLC410-5MPx) cameras at 2 Mpixels at around 30%.

So I upgraded my cpu and I am looking forward to add a second cpu (I have a Dell T420 Server with a E52470 V2 processor which is the top for this kind of server).

Now with 2 cameras at 4 and 5 Mpixels, the CPU is around 11-13% with motion detection on and no HW acceleration (because if I enable it the screen goes black and the cameras won't record anything).  Shinobi has been running for 12 or 15 hours only (on this test, I've made lots or test runs) . If that is all the load for each 2 cameras I add, I think I will stick to Shinobi since I need only 5 cameras on this system.

However when I started this last test run, the CPU was working between 9-10%. So My concern, and I saw it before with my old CPU is, that, the more time it passes by, the higher the CPU workload gets, and, after around 2 weaks, the CPU workload is so high (around 78% 80%), that the server becomes unstable and almost inoperable.

I don´t know if this happens also to you, and I don't know if you could actually enable the hardware acceleration with motion detection correctly. Did you make it happen?

    Cheers

  6. Hello, I'm having a bit of a problem to access the CA Tab, I got this message:

"Something really wrong went on during get_categories

  7. Now posting from my concerns. I will leave the "hardware acceleration" issue aside I ended up upgrading my crappy E5 2403 to an E5 2470 V2 and so far it runs way better.

However, I Still have issues with the playback, and I don't know why I can only see 2 days of videos. The videos are in the hard drive, but the video player does not see them. In the admin settings, they are set to store up to 40 days.

Here are some screenshots you like:

    Screen Shot 2020-09-03 at 11.20.20 AM.png
The second issue, as you may have noticed is that one of the "test" cameras only show a green screen in the recording (very useful by the way in a surveillance system).

So, here are my new 2 questions:

1.- Why can't I see more than 2 days in the video player?

2.- Has the green screen occurred to you ? My cameras are Reolink RLC410 and Reolink and RLC410 5 MP.

Thanks in advance for your valuable input.

    Hello,
I am in need of assistance trying to get all this working with a VLan.  I'm trying to follow the videos from @SpaceInvaderOne.  Here is my setup:

    Wireless Route

I bought a tp-link TL-SG108PE managed switch.  This is how I've set it up:

    Router_VLAN.png.6cebc4c4ac754d89215c11d0a494424f.png

Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.  I'm trying to set this up in a secure setup.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I've never used a Vlan, however I think I can understand how they work. Here are some observations. From that configuration in your Switch you are enabling the VLAN, however in the first table you are setting all the ports as "non members" and in the second one,  you are setting all the ports to ve in the VLAN 1 and you are also setting the VLAN ID to 50 u 1-3,8. As far as I'm concerned ports 1-3,8 should be excluded from VLan 1 and left alone in the VLan 50.

In space invaders video he has his cameras set to a fixed IP with a different topology from the rest of his network. If you configure your router to DHCP it will only assign ip adresses to one topology only, so you should assign each camera one (or set another DHCP server into that VLan 50)

In my case, should it help you, I have 2 separate networks, one is from my home and the other is for the cameras only.

My server (now a Dell T420) has two ethernet adapters, one connects to my home network (192.168.2....) and the other connects to the cameras (10.10.10...) for that matter I enabled docker app called "Glass | ISC DHCP Server" Which listens to my cameras and assigns a dynamic IP address when requested.

I hope I have at least pointed you towards something.

  9. Hi,

I have a Dell T320 Server with a LSI Flased Perc H310 SAS card. That card controlls 4 SAS Drives

I'm trying to pass through one of them completely to my Windows 10 VM as a second drive. I added in the VM template as a 2nd VDisk. The template accepted it and I restarted the VM

    2097977508_ScreenShot2020-08-18at8_07_26AM.png.280c948c79182522159e3a0ca15e1902.png

However, the drive does not appear in the windows explorer (why am I not surprissed? It is always the same thing with unraid.). I looked for it at the drive manager and it does not appear, so I went to the device manager and it detetcs a SCSI card but, it can't find the right driver.

    967838169_ScreenShot2020-08-18at8_11_20AM.png.e0b92f8a7653b0df3f6ae8c94f7e3357.png

(sorry, windows language is spanish, but there it shows "Other Devices" and inside with the exclamation point is the SAS Card I guess).

So I suppose that the Hard drive is not even seen by the VM since the SAS card is not recognized.

Before I threw this SAS card into the server, I tested it in my PC and, in windows 10, it was recognized immediately without the need of any driver.

I tried to pass it through to the VM but if I do that, the array is basically killed because it does not recognize the SAS drives.

    Do you have any Idea?

I have given up on shinobi. It's all too flaky. What is working well for me is Blue Iris 5. Well worth £60. It is even running well with 6 camera's in a Windows 10 VM on an unraid box with an I7 4790k.

I agree with you, Shinobi is way difficult to setup. What CPU usage do you get with that setup? And what resolution are you using?

Yes the extra variables in the template may need you to delete the old template from the server so the new one is pulled down from community applications if on updating the container it doesnt change.

So you have filled in the 2 variables driver capabilities to all and the id number of your gpu from the nvidia plugin.

But you didnt say if you set the extra parameter (advanced view) to

    --runtime=nvidia

If all these are set then please post screen shots of how the template is filled in.

    Dear Edward, Thanks for replying,

I always try to do everything as you say.

To answer your question, yes I did set the extra parameter: --runtime=nvidia.

Here are some screenshots, at the left there is shinoby working and on the right is my virtual machine running Ispy on windows 10. (I set this as you said in your video)

I have set at this moment 2 cameras,  (The other 4 were reconnected back to my noisy and lousy Reolink NVR ) 1 is broken and only streams a gray screen, the other... well I thought it was dead, but now is working again and is streaming part of my studio.

Here is my dashboard, the GPU is at 0% while the CPU only with shinobi, The VM only recording the stream is 58%.

On new installs it is now necessary to manually install the database files on first run.

Going to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/8080/super  and logging in you will see this

    1977614034_ScreenShot2020-07-29at17_36_19.thumb.png.c7bd2a790377d39f0078817408ced5c6.png

Now goto the docker tab and select the shinobipro container and click console.

This will open a terminal inside of the container. Now run these commands below

    mysql
    source sql/framework.sql;
    source sql/user.sql;
    exit

Now close terminal window and restart the container.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    NVIDIA UNRAID USERS ONLY

You can use your gpu to do the encoding when you are using Linuxserver's Nvidia Unraid  build.

To do this you will need to make some changes to the template when you install the container.

You will need to change the view to advanced view then

    1.  Change the tag on the repository from :latest  to  :nvidia as below

    spaceinvaderone/shinobi_pro_unraid:nvidia

    2. Under Extra parameters add

    --runtime=nvidia

    1534167361_ScreenShot2020-07-29at17_45_23.thumb.jpg.7a89b6eb17524d55e8168edbc7aa2154.jpg

Lastly you will see 2 parts in the template relating to Nvidia

    Driver capabilities set to all

GPU is set to the ID of  your nvidia gpu as shown in the Unraid nvidia plugin

    557030803_ScreenShot2020-07-29at17_54_15.thumb.png.5d44aa51f15b9462de067cb57ea67cef.png

Well, Thanks for the info, but there is no way I can make this work.

I had shinobi pro installed, so I changed the name of the repository to "nvidia" and it downoaded like 2 Gigs and the CPU usage never came down and the GPU usage remained in 0%. By the way, I didn't get the 2 options: Driver Capabilities and GPU ID. I had added them as variables in my last attempt.

So I deleted the container, installed it again and the last 2 options appeared (Driver capabilities and GPU ID).

I did not make a lot of configurations because Shinobi was configured as I had it (I don´t know why)

So I ran it again, and set up my cameras to access the Hardware, and nothing happens.

    Take a look at this:

    36171630_ScreenShot2020-08-12at11_57_27PM.thumb.png.c392a359b2393c8f7cbc43fa4f861b71.png

The HWAccel Device is blank, I have tryed to type my hardware ID and it completely ignores it...and Regarding the CoProcessor I don't even know what that is. I asked for a manual to Shinobi support and they did the same as their software (exactly: ignore me).

Here is a screenshot of my dashboard running a VM Windows 10 VM (@ idle by the way). My DHCP Server and Shinobi with only one camera with a still image in my Xeon E5 2403 ( pretty useless by the way) . My CPU is at 37% while my GPU is on vacation zipping some margaritas at the beach! (I'm being sarcastic by the way)

So, I hope you can give me a bit of help on this one because I'm loosing my hair on this. Any kind of help will be very appreciated it.

    Thanks in advance

It is explained in the second post on the ShinobiPro Support Thread.

Also, (I know you didn't ask this but...) a Gpu can be assigned to a VM 'or' to Docker(s). Yes multiple dockers at once.

And also to answer your question, you add the same parameters to the docker edit page as you would on Plex.

I can only say: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! I Knew Edward was after this but I had not found it yet!

Let me see If I can configure it ASAP!!

I just ran into a similar issue with my NVMe drive setting off warnings.  Couldn't find a way to disable the warnings so the work around would probably have done it.  However, I was planning to use this drive just for VM's so I stubbed it and now unRAID doesn't see the drive anymore and there are no errors to report.

For those of you seeing high CPU usage on Shinobi when using the built-in motion detection, most IP cameras have FTP or Email alerts built in along with motion detection. I'm using Reolink RLC-410-5MP cameras. Check out the following links to on how to use your camera's built in detection rather than Shinobi's. When I was using the motion detector in Shinobi, I was seeing anywhere between 40%-80% CPU usage on 8 cameras. When I switched over to using my camera's built in motion detection, I drop to around 7%-10% max with 8 cameras going. The FTP trigger will give you the fastest motion response.

  16. Hi, I'm having something similar.

The problem happens when installing Mariadb, It is like there is no software available to download.

    I get this info:

    mariadb.thumb.jpg.2f2753ae7bc08bef089e56e6dc01263c.jpg

I have glass dhcp installed and I kind of think that I have installed it for that docker, but it does not appear on my dockers:

    dockers.thumb.jpg.ee6693d68b1062ccbbf5e0be76bc15d7.jpg

Could it be because the array is running?

I am attaching a copy of my diagnostics file.

    Thanks!

    Update July 18th 2020

It turned out that my ethernet settings had only my router as DNS server, there is nothing wrong to have your router (or gateway) acting as your DNS, however in this case the IP addresses were not being resolved.

I had to stop the array  and then changed the NIC settings adding some DNS servers (ie. 8.8.8.8) and now it is working.

    C' ya!

I can help with the file system, but you're going to have a tough time with this container.  It's an advanced setup running a web server, dhcp server, text based configuration via config files.

The docker container settings (in Unraid GUI) has a list of volumes, variables, devices, etc and are managed by you.  In this specific instance you need to add "/etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf" to the docker container.  The most common why this is done is with an appdata folder, "/mnt/user/appdata/glasss-isc-dhcp/dhcpd.conf" mapped to "/etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf", but the choice is yours use whatever host directory you desire.

Once your selection is made, use the Unraid GUI docker settings to change the host path to your selection and the container path should already be filled in when you installed the container.  For an more in depth explanation on docker settings and volumes please see https://wiki.unraid.net/UnRAID_6/Docker_Management

Ok, I'll look into it, and If I have other questions, I'll come back here.

    Thanks!
