  1. I added your repo 10 mins before posting my original question and forgive me I can't find the update button anywhere you have circled! beta16?
  2. You mentioned Dolphin in another thread, it's not showing up in my template list?
  3. I bought some last year and rather pleased with them 8 months on. Review here http://blog.ktz.me/?p=145
  4. For your SAS card, email Supermicro. They sent me out a new full height bracket for free! YMMV.
  5. Or a DREMEL! I have the ms800 and its great apart from the amount of room behind the mobo tray for cables. This was the best i could do but I had to leave all data cables in the front 'front' as there was just not enough room. Oh well, makes maintenance easier. I have the norco 5in3 cages with aftermarket fans and drives temps are around 40c. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. BIG and SLOW for fans. Always. The Antec gets my vote for thermals, not for noise overall though. But I'm sure you can undervolt the fans just fine...
  7. Having owned both products, admittedly only the 900 case not the Antec 1200 as you suggest. I would go for the Fractal if you want build quality and beautiful polish to the product, but with the downside of tricker maintenance and drive access. I would go for the Antec case if you want quick and easy access to drives (if you buy a 5 in 3 cage - see my blog for a review of the ones i got from x-case UK). http://blog.ktz.me/?p=145 The product isn't as refined, but then neither is the price. You'll find the Antec keeps things a lot cooler (my Fractal things got toasty, upwards of 40+C on the drives somedays. They are now 28-34C in the same place physically. Enjoy your decision making! PS - I might be tempted to sell my Supermicro SAS card in the near future, it's the same model as you listed I think PM me if interested.
  8. I think the chances of shoe horning rdm into VB on windoze is far more likely to break than in Linux where it is designed to do this. Sticking with windoze because you're comfortable with it is the pussy option! Be a man, learn how to setup Linux and use the opportunity to learn! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. i once tried this many times, a few years ago and always failed at the raw disk passthrough. how have you dealt with this?
  10. *** **** ****** **** ***? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  11. Can you tell us what you are working on? I'm hoping you are focussed on porting addins like the SF stats etc? Or just minor fixes, like the spindown icon which is missing? I'm slowly working through my plugins to make them independent, not relying on SimpleFeatures base plugin. This is a slow process as I'm struggling to find time at the moment. Know the feeling about time! I have a ton of assignments due in for my Uni course in 2 weeks and sleep is a rare thing! Anything the community can help with?
  12. Supplied GUI - Offical 'Stable' GUI. webGUI on Github - 'beta/testing' GUI. SimpleFeatures - User made GUI - no longer works on 5 stable and later (properly) Bottom line is the supplied GUI is the supported one, above and beyond that it is down to you what you use. Agree with this. However, it's shame that until a week before 5.0 went final SF worked great. It's obvious that the github GUI was a rushed job to try and make it into final 5.0 - I'm frustrated that it's been however many months and no progress has been made to replace functionality that we HAD and now DON'T HAVE. My 2 cents.... **Also, 3 word updates are welcomed but perhaps a little shorter than is required. Often after a limetech post there is a flurry of people going "ah what do you mean exactly?" where a one paragraph update would explain eloquently what the exact state of affairs is. Public relations havn't exactly been this product's strongest suit from the top (thank goodness for the community).
  13. simple request, can the uptime be moved back onto the main page just as it was in simplefeatures? PLEASE!?!
  14. This is exactly what I've done. The 2 ports I chose from the mobo happened to be my 6GB/s ports, so guess where the parity drive now is??
  15. RE: system uptime Thanks, I knew it was in the info button but I want it at a glance like it used to be. Maybe a configurable option?
  16. My pair arrived a couple of days ago and I'm really impressed. Apart from having to flatten the tabs on my 5.25" bays which was a pain everything went smoothly. I've done a small write up, nothing too serious, on my blog. http://blog.ktz.me/?p=145
  17. Could you reinstate system uptime on the new gui please? I miss it.
  18. Hey Henris, I'm in England too and have used X-Case before. I'm really curious about these cages too and want to know whether you ordered one or not? I'm thinking of ordering 3 cages and replacing the fans in them also. Where have you got to in your research on these? Cheers!
  19. With all due respect, it is not final until it is final. there are many people here, customers i might add, that have waited patiently. i would very much like a final release as i'm virtualising unraid with Xen at the moment. I've had to added the relevant bits to the kernel each time there's been an RC if I wanted to update and this gets a little tiresome after a while! I think github is a GREAT and FANTASTIC move, it's the best way to get stuff done. Great decision there Tom. BUT PLEASE release v5.0 and defer any GUI enhancements to v5.1 or whatever... Final doesn't have to be perfect you know, it's not like 5.0 comes out and that's the last release ever. I've refrained from engaging in the release firefight until now but my patience has worn thin. I LOVE unRAID and it's community, but please listen to them Tom. Not just me, but the many dozens of other fellow users that just want an end the RC saga.
  20. So I've got one step further than the previous post, my .log location wasn't valid. I just put /mnt/user/cache/vbox/logs instead of a filename (that might be a little clearer as most plugins just need the file location, not filename! ) I do however have another joyous error to replace it. This time I have " Method 'ps1:ISystemProperties getMaxVDISize' not implemented " ... Where do I start with this one? The phpmyadmin website isn't terribly helpful on this one. Cheers vboxwebsrv.zip
  21. ok - i'm probably being really dim and i'm so close it hurts but i cannot seem to get past "An error occurred communicating with your vboxwebsrv." If I run " ps aux | grep vboxweb " I get this: root 32550 0.0 0.0 2448 584 pts/0 S+ 22:40 0:00 grep vboxweb So then I try to run " netstat -an | grep 18083 " but it gives me nothing. This leads me to the conclusion that the vboxwebsrv is running but not listening? There are no other plugins installed on the system and it's RC15a. I've modified config.php in the phpmyadmin folder to match the user running vbox (which is root) and modified the IP address / port to every permutation I can think of (ie: 127.0.0.1, 10.0.0.2, localhost) but still I get this blasted error and no logs to help me. I've attached screenies of my settings page and my config.php file for phpmyadmin. I fixed the soap error by commenting out the relavent line in SF web server (which i had to modify as the sqllite package was broken). My syslog can be found here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6775695/syslog-2013-06-23.zip I've spent the last 3 hours getting nowhere and would really appreciate some assistance. -- Probably not that useful but the error message I get from phpmyadmin is this: Exception Object ( [message:protected] => Could not connect to host [string:Exception:private] => [code:protected] => 32 [file:protected] => /mnt/user/cache/webserver/lib/vboxconnector.php [line:protected] => 111 [trace:Exception:private] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [file] => /mnt/user/cache/webserver/lib/vboxconnector.php [line] => 1379 [function] => __vboxwebsrvConnect [class] => vboxconnector [type] => -> [args] => Array ( ) ) [1] => Array ( [file] => /mnt/user/cache/webserver/lib/vboxconnector.php [line] => 218 [function] => getHostDetailsCached [class] => vboxconnector [type] => -> [args] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [fn] => getHostDetails ) [1] => Array ( [data] => [errors] => Array ( ) [persist] => Array ( ) ) ) ) [2] => Array ( [file] => /mnt/user/cache/webserver/lib/ajax.php [line] => 93 [function] => __call [class] => vboxconnector [type] => -> [args] => Array ( [0] => getHostDetails [1] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [fn] => getHostDetails ) [1] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [data] => [errors] => Array ( ) [persist] => Array ( ) ) ) ) ) ) [3] => Array ( [file] => /mnt/user/cache/webserver/lib/ajax.php [line] => 93 [function] => getHostDetails [class] => vboxconnector [type] => -> [args] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [fn] => getHostDetails ) [1] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [data] => [errors] => Array ( ) [persist] => Array ( ) ) ) ) ) ) [previous:Exception:private] => ) config.zip
