My disk.cfg was at to 2 hours: spindownDelay=2 Do I change it to "0" WITH THE QUOTES to get it working again? or no quotes, since it originally has no quotes. I'm a linux n00b, pretty much no knowledge. (Beta 6 not up yet, so that's why I'm asking this question). Thanks EDIT: Ok putting "0" is fine. Kinda weird that now the Disk selection appears when you stop the array, I like it back in settings... less chance of screwing this up.

Not forum reply notifications, I'm talking about notifications on a new version of unRAID Server software.

Is there some sort of update notification system going on? Something like a twitter feed for unraid Server version updates? How about some kind of email newsletter or something? I find myself going to lime-technology every other day to check for new versions. Would be great if unRAID itself has an update check.

+1 Current Uptime, Record Uptime. Makes it easier than loading unMENU and clicking through the menus, or telnetting in/logging in/typing uptime.

Thank you. Until Beta 4 is released, I'll edit the share .cfg file, but what is the syntax for more than 1 user having write accesss: shareSecurity="private" shareReadList="" shareWriteList="root, nxt" I tried a comma to seperate the two usernames, that didn't work.

Using 5.0 Beta 3. Everything was working fine with 5.0 Beta 2. Updated to Beta 3, required readding/reconfiguring user accounts. In Shares, when I click my share, then go to the SMB Security Settings, I have it Yes to Export and Security model as Private. I click Apply, page refreshes and all my users are set to No Access. I select the appropriate permissions for each user (read/write, read only, no access), I click on Apply, the page refreshes and everyone is back to No Access. Weird thing is, It's odd combinations that will stick. Users I have listed: root, istat, nxt (me), misc (a user i don't want access). If i set root to rw, istat r, nxt rw, misc no, and click apply, it refreshes and istat is given read only and everyone no access, i can do other combinations and it has a mind of it's own after i click apply. This is weird. 1. Noise level is pretty loud. I have it in another room. The front lower fans have a speed setting, I keep it at low, but still noisy. 2. Temps range from 25-28C when idle. 28-36C when it's fully active. I know it's higher than most people like, but I've yet to have any issues. The box is on 24/7

My main PC was getting too messy/noisy/hard to maintain with having a bunch of hard drives attached, decided I needed to build myself some sort of NAS. Some IRC folks recommended unRAID Server. That night I downloaded the trial and put it on a mini-pc with 3 really old IDE/SATA drives. I was blown away by the simplicity of getting it up and running, that night I started to put together a list of hardware to buy. 1.5 years later, I've upgraded hard drives, swapped hard drives, blew up a PSU, blew up a hard drive, broke a hard drive and I'm still loving it. Wow, did not know about the MC. That's awesome, thank you! Anyone know why it's slow to transfer between my disks using MC? I'm getting about 2-3MBytes/s. I can copy it to my PC at 20-30MBytes/s (The disks are both 7200rpm Seagate 1.5TB drives)

Well did some upgrades to my unRAID, but damaged one of my drive's SATA port, it works, but it's broken, so I'd like to send it in for warranty to Seagate. It's my Disk4. I have 1 share called Storage, and in /mnt/disk4/Storage there are 3 more folders with more folders inside. I would like to move everything in /mnt/disk4/Storage/allthesubfolders into /mnt/disk5/Storage I'm a linux n00b, so n00b I don't know how to use the mv command correctly to do this. PLEASE tell me the exact command I should type in telnet. (I do know how to cd /mnt/disk4/Storage) Thank You.

I just set one up last week, same board, using 2 gigs ram, AMD 4850e cpu. (Got the mobo and cpu at Fry's for $99 last week) Using 4.5 beta 6. Yes it supports graceful shutdown via power button. Using unRAID Plus. 3 Seagate 1.5TB, 1 Seagate 1TB, and 2 Western Digital 500gb. (All onboard SATA) Doing parity check getting about 70megs/s

I'm a total linux noob. I've installed it (using unmenu) but how do you run it? I can telnet into my unraid server, but can someone tell me how to run it? (I'm very good with dos, but i have 0 knowledge of linux) Thanks.
