Ich sag's ja... Nervig

Hier mal meine Auflistung:
Mainboard: Supermicro X11SAE-M
Netzteil: be quiet Pure Power 11 350W
Stefan

Was ist von Cyberpower zu halten?
Zum Beispiel diese: CP1500EPFCLCD

I'm using unRaid since 1 month. Today was the first periodical parity check.
It starts at 0 o'Clock in the night and will end at 14 o'Clock in the afternoon. I'm in the office at that time.
Thats life.

I did connect an external USB-HDD via Unassigend Devices to my unRaid.
In the Settings i set "Spin down disks?" to YES.
Does this also apply to USB-Disks? My disk is always over 40° C...

Hi there,
"Moin" meens "hello" in north german accent. 😉
Now that I have asked my noob questions, I wanted to introduce myself to you.
Since 2013 I was running an HP Microserver (N54L) with OpenMediaVault. It always worked very well.
But since the storage space was getting smaller and smaller, I had to use larger hard disks. Because I used a RAID5 in OMV, I would have had to replace each hard disk individually to increase the capacity. And the array would have had to be rebuilt each time.
But because the N54L was also getting too old, I decided to buy completely new hardware (> Signature). As software I actually wanted to switch to OMV 5. But then I also looked at Proxmox and unRAID.
And since I registered here in the forum, I finally chose unRAID.
Really great operating system. I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun with it in the coming years.I will use the N54L as a backup target for the unRAID.

Currently 32GB ECC (2x 16GB). But will upgrade to maximum 64GB soon.

Danke Dir. Sehr guter und ausführlicher Guide. 👍

If you turned off the remote server, turn it back on and then unmount and delete the remote shares.
I have already tried this. No success.

Post diagnostics.
Sorry for the noob-question: How?
-
I have mount two SMB-Shares via Unassigned Devices to my unRAID. I copied the files from that share to my unRAID.
Now i want to remove that shares from unRAID.
In the GUI he "Unmount"-Button takes no effect. Also the "X" is not clickable.
Any ideas?
-
It just works. 😄
Thank you.

Do i have to copy the macos_disk.img to the directory of my NVMe-Disk first?
Is it possible to have all the VM-stuff within the Unassigned-Disk? domain, appdata and so on...

Okay. Here it is. But i did create a complete new VM. Not modified, yet.

Okay, all the changes have to do in the xml.
Here is the part you want to see, i think.
<devices> <emulator>/usr/local/sbin/qemu</emulator> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <driver name='qemu' type='qcow2' cache='writeback'/> <source file='/mnt/user/domains/MacinaboxCatalina/Clover.qcow2'/> <target dev='hdc' bus='sata'/> <boot order='1'/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='2'/> </disk> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw' cache='writeback'/> <source file='/mnt/user/domains/MacinaboxCatalina/Catalina-install.img'/> <target dev='hdd' bus='sata'/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='3'/> </disk> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw' cache='writeback'/> <source file='/mnt/user/domains/MacinaboxCatalina/macos_disk.img'/> <target dev='hde' bus='sata'/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='4'/> </disk>
Within the VM-Settings i changed the path /mnt/user/domains/MacinaboxCatalina/macos_disk.img to a path on my UA-Disk:
/mnt/disks/
Or is /dev/disk/by-id/ the better way?
Will the changes within the xml-file take effect?

Yes it is possible, just change the path to the vdisk for the path to your unasigned drive thats it.
Hi there,
i want to have the vdisk on my unassigned device (NVMe).
After Docker creats the Catalina VM i go to settings of that Catalina-VM.
There are three created drives: Clover, Install Image ans macos disk.
After changing the path of the 64G macos disk to my UA-Disk and click "update" the Catalina-Logo of the VM disappears and the VM will not boot.
Is there a solution for that?
