  1. I have the same question. Any guidance would be much apprciated!

  3. Hi all, I build a new Unraid server a couple months ago, and I've really been struggling to get the temperature management working the way I'd like. Here is some background info: Motherboard: ASRock B460M Steel Legend CPU: i5 10400 HDD: 5 4TB hdd's that are in a hot swap bay in the front of a chenbro server chasis SSD: 2 SSD drives for cache Fans: 2 noctua 80mm fans on the back of the case, 1 noctua 80mm fan mounted on the back of the drive bay, and 1 noctua 120mm fan in the front of the case Generally what I'd like to have happen is let the motherboard manage CPU cooling with stock cooling fan from intel. I'd generally like the case fans to idle nice a quietly. When any of the HDD's get to certain temp I'd like all of the case fans to spin up and get things cooled down, and then go back to a slow and quiet RPM. I've been trying for weeks to get the Dynamix autofan control tuned to due this, but I just can't seem to get it. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated!
  4. I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having mounting an NFS share on another NAS. There are two NFS shares on my synology that have the exact same configuration (photo and upload). I've mounted photo just fine and can use Krusader to navigate and sync folders with my Unraid shares. Today I did the same with the upload share and am experiencing a strange permissions issue. As you can see from the first check the permissions look just fine. When I try and access the upload folder in Krusader I get a premission denied and suddenly the directory permissions are changed. If I wait a bit, the permissions seem to reset, but as soon as I try and access it changes again. Here is the output from the terminal window in Krusader. I can see the same thing happening watching in the Unraid terminal as well. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
  5. Ok, I was able to get it working. I had to stop the docker & VM services so I could configure the interface.
  6. Here are the diagnostics: tower-diagnostics-20210428-1354.zip
  7. I am on 6.9.2 but can’t get that working. Is there something specific I need to do to get the right driver loaded? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hi all, Need some help getting IPMI setup for my unraid server. When I run the configuration it doesn't find anything, and on the config page there aren't any fans showing. My motherboard is a ASRock B460M Steel Legend. Any tips on how to get this configured and working properly would be much appreciated!
  9. Recently just built an unraid server and I’m trying to get my temperature and fan controls setup properly. I have 3 noctura fans plugged into my motherboard and one fan that is plugged directly into a 5 drive hdd enclosure. My motherboard is an Asrock B460M steel legend. I’ve installed the Auto Fan Control plugin, but I’m a bit confused by the settings. It’s showing 7 different PVM controllers to choose from. Which PVM should I pick, and how can I make sure all my fans are spinning faster when my CPU or HDD temps pass a certain threshold? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. When I run the command - scrutiny-collector-metrics run - I get the following errors see below. The data is showing up in the web portal, but I'm wondering why those errors are showing. 11. Thanks for the advice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I was wondering if I should setup link aggregation for a new server I’m building. I have a cisco switch that supports it, but I suppose my question is; is it well supported by Unraid, and would I get enough benefit from it to make it worth the hassle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi, I’m building a new server to replace an aging ReadNAS and have been thinking about going with Unraid. I have 4x4tb 3.5 drives and a 1tB SSD nvme drive. I have about 8TB of videos. I also plan to run a handful of docker images and maybe the occasional VM. My question is, what options do I have to setup the drives? If I was running Ubuntu, I would run the OS and docker images on try SSD and store the media on a raid5 array using the 3.5 drives. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
  14. Hi all- I’d like to build server that will be used for a few purposes: Plex Server Retire an old netgear readynas. It has 4 drives with videos running in jbod config. I’d like to move those drives over the new server. Central log server for my home. Probably run something like Graylog Docker experimentation Here is what I’m thinking right now. Would appreciate some feedback: CPU - i3 10100 motherboard - ASRock H410M-HDV/M.2 Micro ATX LGA1200 RAM 16GB HHD - 256 GB SSD (already own), 4 drives from NAS, maybe one additional 4tb drive for log data and docker images. Case - Chenbro Rackmount 4U Server Chassis RM42300-F (already own) CPU cooler TBD Sata expansion card - TBD Power supply - TBD Would love you get your overall thoughts on this setup. I’d also appreciate any specific recommendations on PSU and sata expansion. I want to make sure I have enough for at least 6 drives, but don’t need a monster that’s gonna drive up the electric bill either.
