  1. I don't think people really enjoy it when someone at the counter always says "Hey it's not my fault". Regardless of where the issue is, they released a version calling it stable and this isn't some minor oversight it's an entire generation of CPUs that's are relatively recent. This is a product people are paying for and not all of us are that tech savvy.
  2. Yes it’s a 11600k. So there’s a known issue of it crashing 11th gen intel but they release it as a stable version? that seems to be from terminal which I can’t get into. I think I’ll just do a new install back to 6.11.5 if I can keep my app settings.
  3. I went to 6.12.0 and system won’t boot. I’ve tried a half dozen times. In the past if I let it sit for a couple hours eventually it would (completely anecdotal) so trying that tonight. In the event it doesn’t want to boot tomorrow I’m a little limited on options. I don’t have a spare monitor so it won’t be easy. Is there a way I can take the USB and copy a config over to my desktop, create a new USB from scratch then put the copied config back onto that USB that it will keep the settings for all my apps?

I started one. Join r/arrville. You can be #1 lol. It’s Bs what people are being deprived of. Very little moderation. Enjoy freedom. Tell your friends.

I get it, people want to protest, but the shutting down of many subreddits including unraid, Plex, radarr/sonarr, etc has really done a disservice to those seeking help, education, and looking to get their projects going. I’ve personally had my unraid server for two years now and still find myself looking to interact and talk with others to learn more and advance my setup. I personally find it a bit selfish to protest at the expense of the user base. I feel it adds a new hurdle for those simply seeking help and info. Each community shut down is a community leaving beginners without a source of experience to gain from. People can argue there’s discord, forums, etc but the reason Reddit was so popular is because it’s an incredible aggregate that simplifies access to knowledge. Those options of Discord and forums are still there for the mods that decided to leave at the expense of the user base. I’m not a fan of the “take my ball and leave” that’s left many, including myself, hanging. Agree with Reddit or not, it’s their platform and you can decide to stay or go as you please. However, what’s taking place is people deciding on the behalf of others as well. My views are simple, and I’m sure not appreciated by all, but it’s that access to knowledge shouldn’t be limited. There are other means to handle your protests but these very small digital communities do nothing to persuade the company. Does Reddit really miss communities like radarr and sonarr? Let’s be honest about what it is these communities do and laugh at the irony of feeling owed something. For this reason there’s a new community called r/arrville. Maybe it’s temporary, maybe it’s not, but it’s there for people like me that need help and appreciate the wisdom available. I’m more interested in the advancement of our projects not protesting at the expense of a knowledge seeking user base. A base of a few thousand people where the impact for those users is very large vs a company that won’t even notice they’re gone. Please feel free to join and bring your knowledge with you! I would have never made it without the help of people there and I hope to help pay it forward. If you’re feeling a protest against it is in order, just ignore it. I won’t be listening to the self-righteous talking about what’s right/wrong while at the same time downloading the latest John Wick. Tell your friends.
  6. I was trying the 6.12rc's but was having stability issues so went back to 6.11.5. Clicking on any menu's, apps page, or dockers page is very sluggish. However everything seems to be functioning correctly. Fix Common Problems hasn't pointed to anything. I did remove and reinstall all the dockers. Some initially would have an execution error but all of that has been resolved. I know there's a common step I'm missing here. Any thoughts?
  7. For me it's not about how many streams I can transcode but how fast. I'm a pilot and always in airports. A lot of times I grab my ipad and hope to download through plex which needs to transcode for the download to ipad. So for me it's about having the horsepower to plow through something very fast.
  8. I liked the idea above of removing them from the array. That would essentially be doing the same thing, right? So lets say I move the data off them, spin the array down, remove two drives from the array, spin it back up. Those two drives not in the array do they still spin up every? I was thinking of moving the data off my two hottest drives, I can't figure out why but if the array averages 40c two of them will be around 50c during 24/7 write periods. I'd chose those to spool down, or heck maybe leave them as an experiment, and remove the others. I'd just like to not have so many drives with only a little data on them spinning all the time.
  9. I haven't wanted to really do anything yet out of fear changing the array would grenade it so I wanted to hear from someone here what's safe to do before doing it lol
  10. I redid my media and went HEVC for it anywhere I could find it. Making that shift really freed up space. I could easily remove 4 drives and shelve them somewhere but honestly I don't want to have to shut the sever down and go through all the hassle of pulling drives. Is there a way to take the data that's spread across a few drives, shift it to the rest of the drives, and somehow just park those drives so they can be physical spares in the future? Basically tell unraid to never spin them up or use them?
  11. Is 6.12 to include the latest Linux kernel with full support? After six months of talking about it I’m kinda wondering why updating the kernel is so difficult for unraid to do. Is there a lot to be done on the OS side?
  12. Right now feels like the drivers being used aren’t optimized. There’s zero reason that card shouldn’t be outrunning the cpu.
  13. I'm not sure which it was, maybe all of them. But this must have been the culprit. I've removed them all and it made a huge difference. Thank you!
  14. I'm working on the plugins now and will do this next. Can you give a little more info on what this does? I have a custom docker network and I don't want to mess everything up with my dockers.
  15. All my *arrs and sabnzbd that I use in reverse proxy are very slow taking 20-30 seconds to load. My Shares, Main, settings, pages are all snappy as normal but my docker page takes a while to load and the Dashboard only loads the header but nothing else ever loads. I know they are release candidates but wanted to drop this to see if there's an issue that needs to be resolved. 6.11 was extremely fast. System specs 11600k 64GB mem 4TB ssd 194TB 16 disk array (not including parity) I have a 9211-8i and 9300-16i LSI controllers. Everything except the dashboards page appears functional. Plex and everything running fine. Sonarr and radarr still doing their thing. But everything taking a while to load. When you do an upgrade does unraid need to time to index it's files like iphones after an update that maybe slows it down? tower-diagnostics-20230319-1507.zip

I wouldn’t think a spinning disk could even get close to use that amount of bandwidth. Thanks! I’m ordering now.

I’m shopping motherboards. Z590 Asus prime has 3 full size PCIE slots but the cpu is an 11600k.

Let's try a third time around. Will it work, or no? If I plug the arc and two cards in will everything function or will it not. Why what when or whatever else doesn't answer the yes or no.
  19. Ok so what’s the current status? Are we able to put the card in our machines yet for unraid use or is this only for VM?
  20. Nothing has changed since I posted the other diags. I tried to reboot as suggested and now it’s offline. I’m not home until this evening
  21. Why has it stalled? I’m clear across the United States right now. It’s currently showing 9.3MB/S
  22. Because I was having issues adding adding my other drive with no reason as to why so was trying everything.
  23. I had an 8TB drive die on my so my 14TB parity drive emulated it. I was having issues trying to get my replacement drive, a 14TB Ultrastar, to work so was trying all kinds of thing. Loosing the data on the one drive wasn't the biggest of issues but getting the drive in was. Ended up being the Ultrastar has a 3.3v issue which required a little electrical tape. Problem solved. So as of now my system is trying to sync everything to the new parity drive and it's going at a snails pace. It's just hit 4MB/s which is much more than I've seen all morning. At times it's in the KB/s. Is it because I still have docker's in the background running? tower-diagnostics-20230220-0933.zip
  24. For anyone that may find this in the future. It would appear that some newer drives, like my Ultrastars, have new functionality that requires a signal on the 3.3v. To combat this you can simply take a small piece of electrical tape and put it over the first three pins on the power Sata connector to block the 3.3v connection. I just tested this on six drives including the one I put in the server today. They fired right up. Since I’m migrating to a build that will utilize backplanes I’m unsure if they need it there or not. However my advice here is to see if your drive needs to mod the 3.3v rails.
  25. I don't particularly care about that I want to add the new drive.
