  1. Not really fixed on the unraid side, problem wasn't the resolution it was the scaling. But the main problem I cared about is fixed.
  2. So I have a weird issue where if I have my GPU passed through it works just fine as long as I have the virtual display enabled in the xml. However the moment I disable the VNC console the VM will no longer boot up. Any suggestions? Nothing stands out in any of the logs. Normally I wouldn't care but I have a script for a game I run and for whatever reason it see's the other displays resolution instead of the actual display being used. I did try disabling it in windows device manager but it still looks at it's resolution. So I am stuck with trying to figure out how to disable it completely.
  3. Found the problem finally! The motherboard I am running is an AsRock B660 Pro RS. It simply needed flashed & updated to the latest bios! Seems the problem was the bios wasn't recognizing that the graphics card was installed despite it being there inside of UnRaid & Windows. This in return wasn't allowing CSM to fully turn on!
  4. I have tried that along with video=vesafb:off No matter what I do, I get code 43 inside of windows. Honestly just dont get it, it's not the primary GPU in the bios either. attached a fresh diagnostics tower-diagnostics-20221204-1501.zip
  5. So I spent yet another day working on this. Trying different combinations of configuration from pcie acs overide from within the gui & from the syslinux.cfg Also decided to install windows on the bare metal just to see if their wasn't a problem with GPU. Unfortunately the card did work just fine in windows (sounds weird having that mentality)
  6. Here check out this video on how to dump your bios from within unraid with just a couple clicks! How to Easily Dump the vBios from any GPU for Passthrough I am struggling with passing through a GPU atm also. Extremely frustrating & almost to the point of giving up and just buying another machine instead of VM
  7. I tried adding <kvm> <hidden state='on'/> </kvm> No success Also made some other changes <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x03' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/> </source> <rom file='/mnt/user/domains/gpu rx6600.rom'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x04' slot='0x00' function='0x0' multifunction='on'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x03' slot='0x00' function='0x1'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x04' slot='0x00' function='0x1'/> </hostdev> Still no success....I thought I had really fixed it with finding the bus mismatch for the graphics/sound side of the card.
  8. I should mention that it does boot into windows 10, stuck at 800x600 resolution & getting code 43
  9. I have run a vbios dump and it should be seeing it. <rom file='/mnt/user/domains/gpu rx6600.rom'/>

  11. I love the fact that it's simple to use & rock solid. Been using unraid now for close to 10 years & never had a real problem! I would like to see unraid's security improved so I can feel more comfortable putting it online.
  12. Best advice ever, I fully prepared for everything to be screwed up. However all I did was install all the hard drives & move usb, booted it up & everything ran perfectly! Thank you!
  13. Finally after 8+ years of pieced together hardware to begin with. My motherboard is dying I am going to just start with all new hardware using my existing drives. Should I grab some data before it completely dies? If so what? Maybe screenshot the drive configuration? Any other challenges I will be facing? Will it be as simple as install hard drives in new machine, move USB drive and boot it?
  14. I am running 6.1.9 and yes I am upgrading an old 1TB with a 4TB. But it looks like I got my answer! I wish I could test it...no USB cradle & I have ditched all desktop computers in my home & gone with tablets and laptops. I guess in the future I may need to purchase one.
  15. So I need to upgrade one of my disks. I read the wiki already on what to do however it didn't answer my main question. I normally preclear all my disks before putting them into the array. However I am out of room on my server to add another drive to do the preclear script. If I just do the normal disk upgrade will my array be online while it's doing it's thing? Taking the array down for a day or 2 isn't really any option since it's my media server for all the TV's in the house. So..Do I need to be putting together a crap machine from parts just to preclear or will I be good to do the normal upgrade option.
  16. This problem keeps coming back every time I reboot the system. It's an easy fix each time but thought I would let you know!
  17. Sorry if this question has been answered a few times but I couldn't find anything relating to my needs exactly. I have been using Unraid for years as my media server. I am now needing it to do 1 more task. Currently for our offsite backups at our office performed by Backup Exec we copy the files to a WD passport drive and take it home weekly. This task is getting to be a little annoying so I am looking to automate the process. The offsite backup is roughly 2TB of data. Does anyone have a plugin schedule uploads or that can recommend a program to connect to unraid via FTP or some other protocol to do this? I really would like to schedule when server will upload the data so it doesn't effect the bandwidth at our office during normal business hours.
  18. Ok, I got the problem fixed. I deleted my entire config for transmission, let your plugin completely reinstall everything as a fresh install. I then moved over my torrents & boom all is good now!
  19. Seems to be a problem with your dependencies. I recommend deleting the dependency repo at (the entire folder): /mnt/cache/.PhAzE-Common (Or /usr/local/PhAzE-Common if you don't use a cache drive) Then reboot. That will force the dependencies to reinstall. Since your dependencies are messed, git clone won't work and that's why you aren't getting the install file downloaded. Ok, so I did that and it did fix CouchPotato. However now Transmission is broke and won't start! 2015-11-20 20:23:16 [iNFO] *** Update Initiated *** 2015-11-20 20:23:16 [iNFO] Stopping Transmission... 2015-11-20 20:23:16 [iNFO] Stop OK: Already stopped 2015-11-20 20:23:17 [iNFO] Installing Transmission... 2015-11-20 20:23:18 [iNFO] Updating dependencies 2015-11-20 20:23:18 [iNFO] Dependency install file has correct MD5 2015-11-20 20:23:18 [iNFO] Using /mnt/cache/.PhAzE-Common for dependency directory 2015-11-20 20:23:18 [iNFO] Dependencies updated successfully 2015-11-20 20:23:18 [iNFO] Updating export file 2015-11-20 20:23:18 [iNFO] Updating shorcut file 2015-11-20 20:23:19 [iNFO] Latest version found: 2.84 - Checking USB for same install file 2015-11-20 20:23:19 [iNFO] Copy found on USB, checking for MD5 file 2015-11-20 20:23:19 [iNFO] Located MD5 file - Testing against install file 2015-11-20 20:23:19 [iNFO] MD5 of Transmission-PhAzE-2.84-x86_64.txz is valid - Proceeding with install 2015-11-20 20:23:19 [iNFO] Updating application directories 2015-11-20 20:23:19 [iNFO] Updating application config file 2015-11-20 20:23:19 [iNFO] Install OK! 2015-11-20 20:23:25 [iNFO] *** Button Start Initiated *** 2015-11-20 20:23:25 [iNFO] Syncing application and plugin config files 2015-11-20 20:23:25 [iNFO] Updating plugin config file 2015-11-20 20:23:25 [iNFO] Starting Transmission... 2015-11-20 20:23:25 [iNFO] Updating dependencies 2015-11-20 20:23:25 [iNFO] Dependency install file has correct MD5 2015-11-20 20:23:25 [iNFO] Using /mnt/cache/.PhAzE-Common for dependency directory 2015-11-20 20:23:26 [iNFO] Dependencies updated successfully 2015-11-20 20:23:26 [iNFO] Updating export file 2015-11-20 20:23:26 [iNFO] Updating shorcut file 2015-11-20 20:23:26 [iNFO] Updating application directories 2015-11-20 20:23:26 [iNFO] Updating application config file 2015-11-20 20:23:37 [ERROR] Start failed: No PID created This time everything else is in the green. 22. This page here pretty much sums up what PAM is. http://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/libs/pam/whatispam.html
  23. This is probably a total newb question. However I have noticed a small problem in my configuration and I am unable to find the solution. I have Transmission saving files to /mnt/disk1/torrents/download I have noticed my disk1 is almost full and and all other drives are empty. It doesn't seem to be doing the high-water settings in which I have that share set too. Am I saving the files wrong? Should I be using some sort of share path for transmission so I am not over riding the array settings? Also when I add my cache drive here soon obviously I should change the path again. What's recommended for that or does it matter?
  24. oh and btw the array doesn't seem to be effected. I currently have all green lights on my end but I guess this isn't problem since it appears to recover the sata link.
