Data Drive Failed - Parity Swap - Multiple Drives
Hi, UnRaid 7.0.1, I have a 5 drive xfs system, all 3TBs (see pic). I had elected two of the drives to be parity for extra protection. The only spares I have on hand are 8TB and I do have two of them. I also have an 1TB NVME SSDs laying around too and an old PC that was going to be taking over my server duty at some point.. Mostly this is a media and person file share server (or will be), though I do run all of my home lab containers from it. Most important workload is the plex server. I'm trying to decide the best way to approach this. There isn't much data as you can see.. Any recommendations out there in forum land? Parity swap and single parity drive and then replace data with new 8TB drive? Rebuild new server w/ZFS and manually migrate data? Appreciation in advance!

WebUI Post 7.0.0 upgrade - Slow and Black Screen?
Wow I never saw this response until the digest summary. Sorry about that. Attached are diagnostics. It's still happening. It happens most often when the browser is changing window sizes. Sometimes it's so bad I just close and start over. Definitely a 7.0.0 "feature". sparkraid-diagnostics-20250306-0823.zip

WebUI Post 7.0.0 upgrade - Slow and Black Screen?
Anyone else getting funky results when navigating the WebUI via Chrome? Sometimes it's really slow to paginate, like on the docker containers page if I resize my window it's "choppy" and other times I'll navigate to the tab and it'll just be a black screen.. Known or am I just weird?

Slow file transfers - Writes
I'm trying to figure out why my unraid server has slow write-to file transfers. I initially always get great speed, on a 1GB line I'll get about 112MB/s for about 30 seconds, then it'll drop down to 30-45MB/s. On a 2.5GB line and copying to a flash on the unraid server I can start at about 165MB/s for about about 1 minute, then it'll drop down to 70MB/s. Transferring data out of the unraid server is usually flat at 93MB/s. My guess is I'm filling up the write buffers on the drives and the overhead of the double parity but I'd expect the flash to perform a little better. Maybe I'm missing something obvious but unlike my old synology in their hybrid raid, I can't seem to maintain consistently high file transfer speeds. The array is 5 drives. 2 of which are parity. Their WD Reds are only 5400rpm. Parity drives are at 6gbps but data drives are at sata 2 3.0gbps. Everything is formatted as xfs. Anyone done other testing or have some ideas or suggestions or take a look at? I'm thinking the box needs an upgrade but would like to be able to find that bottleneck as well. Thanks in advance!

Enable rsync daemon for Syno backup
@Squid, this I accidently had a double post which got nuked. Syno == Synology. In the Synology User Interface you can search for rsync compatible servers/shares and enable a very simple push to a target. I'm running rsync cmd manually on unraid on mounted nfs volumes to pull data but I can't find a super-simple & webui way to automate backup up data from synology to unraid and unraid to synology. I really don't want to be the guy that has to read each releases' notes to see if a cron or init.d "hack" got nuked. Sadly I feel a little too old for hta.t Gracias, Froz

Enable rsync daemon for Syno backup
There are a lot of threads on this but they are old and seemingly have dead ends on latest versions of unraid. is there a simple way to enable rsync on the unraid side so I can use the syno webgui scheduler to push data from syno to unraid via a cron? thanks in advance.

Advice on Syncing from Amazon Photos, Synology, Plex NAS, Mobile Phone Dating Syncing
Multi-threaded thread. Newish to unraid but have been running Plex and Homeassistant VM on it for awhile and all seems pretty cool. Four hopefully quick questions: 1) to map drives from a docker container to another NAS, any suggestions on NFS vs. SMB? I'm mapping my plex library from my Syno to my Plex Docker Container. I see some log spamming in dmesg but all seems to work ok. ie: [1517539.425588] nfs: server DISKSTATION not responding, still trying [1517539.425596] call_decode: 6 callbacks suppressed [1517539.425596] nfs: server DISKSTATION OK 2) Anyone have any suggestion on the best way to backup Syno to an UnRaid server and vice Versa for select volumes? 3) Before Amazon sucked and killed their API I had Syno cloud station really nicely syncing the data from my phones that uploaded to AMZ Photo down home. I've never been able to replicate this.. Any advice to do this on Unraid as it's a bit more flexible? Worst workaround I could think of is running a windows VM just with amazon drive? #isuddenlyfeelbloaty. 4) Looking at forgoing the Amazon/Google/etc cloud sync and hosting the target on Unraid. Is NextCloud the best setup for multi OS mobile devices and data copies? Probably could split this up into 4 threads but seems spammy. Thanks all for advice on one or many of the above.
