  1. hi, I'm experiencing a similar issue as reported by @harshl. Also, I am new to grafana and want o make sure I don't need to make modifications to the docker from the default install. i installed docker and selected 'GUS Dashboard'. Thanks.
  2. Hey man, everything is working fine now. The mistake I was making was that I used just '/sdf' instead of '/dev/sdf/' so the system was writing to ram. And, if i tried yuor way with '/dev/disk/by-id/' from the beginning it would have solved it. So thanks !
  3. man... it's doing it again and after I ran the VM for a couple of hours. I resumed it in the bug report thread.
  4. no, I use 2 x NVMEs for cache and a separate 4TB HDD for passthrough for my VM to store files on to
  5. and yes, cache set in raid1
  6. mine was always setup like this
  7. thanks. i will look into that. So far so good . testing freshly installed VM. One thing was still the same when I tried to use HDD name/serial it would not allow me to format the drive inside the VM and will freeze the VM completely, basically back to my original problem I listed here. So, I had to use /sdf and for the 2nd drive and that fixed the issue and I was able to format it inside VM and it is now working fine. I will update in a bit as I don't think enough time has passed.
  8. Hi, I think it is the VM that was causing the chaos. I removed the VM and re-upgraded to v.7 again and it is running fine now and without the VM. So, I am now going to install VM again and see what happens. I reported it in the bug report thread -
  9. After an upgrade to v.7 my cache pool started to break apart and put together sporadically causing all kind of issues including web UI dropping while logged in.
  10. Thanks BDDD. I know about the sdf , sdh, etc may change. Not a big deal in my setup as i only have one disk in passthrough, but your method is definitely better. I am interested in conversion of vdisk into NTFS. I didn't know that. Anyway, I started to regret that I upgraded to v.7. RAID is unstable. I keep loosing my cache pool. It keeps breaking down to a multiple devices and then back together again. I think it could be the reason i had my original problem with the passthrough , since when you working with VM page you don't see the dashboard and don't see the action there. I am thinking of downgrading back as it was rock solid before the upgrade. May be any wisdom from you on this?
  11. Thanks. Figured it out
  12. Hi All, after playing with settings for a bit it looks like it worked and now everything is back to normal. Not sure if I was making the mistake from the beginning and the below steps are irrelevant as I was rapidly making a lot of changes and at some point noticed the VM was showing 'guest services are not installed' message. But still here are the steps: downloaded latest drivers VirtIo.iso added the iso to the VM to make it appear as the CD/DVD drive in windows VM started the VM(Win11) with only one drive which is the image in cache inside VM navigated to the CD/DVD and installed guest-services made sure they run in 'automatic' in Windows services inside the VM restarted VM 'guest services are not installed' message stays for a short while and then disappears force-stopped VM and added the 2nd Vdisk location - manual>/sdf(in my case the pass through HDD is sdf) type - SATA started the VM inside VM went to windows>tools>storage management and initialized the drive and then formatted it. This time it allowed me to do everything without freezing the VM. Not sure which one of the steps fixed my issue, but tend to think its the setting for 2nd vdisk location which needs to be simply /sdf Hope it helps someone. Cheers!
  13. I have a problem after upgrading to v.7 of unraid. I had Win11 VM and a separate 4TB HDD passed through in the system. VM was able to see the 4TB HDD and use it. After the upgrade VM lost the config for the passed-through HDD. I manually added the HDD back to VM again and had to initialize the HDD in the VM itself under disk management. This never happened before when I was upgrading between versions. All I had to do was to point the VM to the HDD and then addthe HDD under disk management in the VM and that was it. This time I have to initialize the drive and format it. When I start formatting VM freezes (goes in to PAUSE state). Is there anything different in the v.7 for adding the pass-through HDD to a VM? I used to do it by selecting 2nd vDisk Location: under VM settings and then manually adding the disk /mnt/disks/sdf. Thanks.
  14. Hi BDDD, I have a problem after upgrading to v.7 of unraid. I had Win11 VM and a separate 4TB HDD passed through in the system. VM was able to see the 4TB HDD and use it. After the upgrade I can't figure out how to add the 4TB HDD back....I used to do it by selecting 2nd vDisk Location: under VM settings and then manually adding the disk /mnt/disks/sdf/. I can get to this point and then in the VM itself when I initialize the 4TB HDD the VM freezes (goes in to PAUSE state). Is there anything that is now has to be done diferently in the v.7? Thanks.
