Hi, I have in my unraid HA, Mqtt and Frigate running. And all work fine. I get the topic frigate/ in mqtt and I can manually add stuff from frigate via mqtt in HA, i.e.: # Frigate - unique_id: frigate_front_door_pd name: "Frigate front door Person Detected" topic: "frigate/front_door/person/snapshot" But I cannot figure out how to autmatically discover the frigate stuff in HA. I know I should install the frigate Integration but I don't know how. Please could someone help me figure this out? In Integrations it doesn't show.

Like I said Vorta and Borg are also my preferred solutions. Can you clarify what you mean here? In Vorta you can see the progress and check the archive. I mean besides backing up with vorta I want to archive long term. I mean most of the families pictures and stuff like that. Data like that doesn't change anymore and I like to burn it on M-Disks and keep track what I have where and when I last archived. It would be great to do that and have an solution to segment to 25/50 or 100GB media and have a database that has information about what is where. So that I can verify old archives and maybe rearchive stuff from time to time. A real strategy to keep data for a lifetime or longer and in a way that is transparent to others in the family. I mean why backup/archive in the first place. redundancy an normal backups sure for day to day stuff. But most of the data I have is only interesting in the long run. All HDD solutions are prone to bitrot so thats not good. Amazons Glacier would be good but having everything in two places I own is more to my liking.

Hi, actually I too am searching for a good solution to manage backups and also archive a part of my data. I tried a lot of different apps and wasn't that convinced by something yet. So I'm interested in suggestions too. On my machines I use Vorta/Borg and maybe I'll give it a try directly on unraid too. The question that came up for me is: How to archive stuff for long term storage and keep track of it? So I would like to burn all my Pictures and Homevideos for example to M-Discs directly from within unraid. I really am astonished that there is no solution out there that handles all this stuff in one place. I mean organize and check the sync to another Unraid/NAS/External Drive and let you chosse stuff for archiving too. Maybe someone has a suggestion to handle this in a way that keeps track of the archived stuff too. Sorry if I hijacked your thread but maybe you would like this archiving feature too.

I've got the excat same problem. Did you fix it? At first I thought it was due to permissions but this doesn't seem to be the case. I've tried the other icloud-docker app and it worked right from the start. But the export there is not as beautiful because everything gets dumped in one folder.

not really as this wasn't my question. I know how to set up vorta and borg and thelike. Thing is as it seems I have to install "unmounted devices" App and then mount the smb shares I want to backup. I will consider this but maybe I stick to using vorta client on all my machines and go from there. Maybe unraid serves as my borgserver and from there I sync with hetzner. now I'm confused to what strategy is best.

ok, thanks for such a quick response. Your how to is great but this would be the way to use unraid as the backup server. I use a offsite hetzner storage as backup destination running borg server there. When I saw the vorta app in unraid I figured that it is used to backup my clients and maybe some of the unraid shares to a borg server somewhere.

Hi, I'm new to unraid and I do not understand how to setup or use the vorta integration. I'm already using vorta on my old mac and would like to move it to unraid and use it for all my machines. How do I set up the to/from paths? Maybe someone could please give me an example. How do I set it up so that I can backup my different machines? Also ich habe jetzt eine Cyberpower BR700ELCD angeschlossen. Der Ruheverbracuh nach 6h initialem aufladen liegt bei 1-2W ohne das was dran hängt. Danach mit dem Unraid Server der vorher bei 16W lag bin ich bei 19W mit der Cyberpower. Messe noch mit dem Voltcraft sem6000 durch die Nacht hindurch ob es dabei bleibt. Werde jetzt 2 HDDs verbauen. Eine Toshiba MG08ACA 16TB (Parity) und dann erstmal eine Toshiba N300 8 TB. Laut Händler gibt es bei beiden 3 Jahre Garantie.

Wenn Du die neu kaufst. Warum mehrere Kleine, anstatt eine (auf TB gerechnet) billigere Große? Weil ich keine Ahnung hab und da der Preis/TB am geringsten war. Ich habe jetzt noch eine 8TB WD Purple geordert und schicke die 2x4TB einfach direkt zurück. Klar macht Sinn. dachte nur irgendwie ich wäre sicherer dran mit 2 Platten, aber das gilt ja nur für die Parity. So langsam komme ich auch dahinter 🙂 Trotz viel lesen bei Euch im Forum ist es nicht einfach alles Wissen zusammenzutragen. Wenn die Maschine läuft wird es für mich einfacher zu verstehen. Haber schonmal mit einer alten 160GB Platte angefangen bis alles da ist und siehe da ich kapiere schon etwas mehr. ...vermutlich in einem Pool vernutlich in einem (anderen?) Pool. Was die SSD angeht weiss ich auch nicht recht was ich damit anfangen soll. Es gibt halt schon eine 256GB M2 im Mainboard. Vielleicht sollte ich eine als Cache nehmen und die andere für Docker und VMS in einem anderen Pool.

Disk 1-2: Seagate IronWolf NAS 4 TB für 19€/TB SSD: Samsung 870 EVO 500GB oder 1TB M2: 256GB bereits verbaut.

Ok, der Celsius W570m ist angekommen und nach ein paar kleinen Bios Einstellungen läuft er bei 11,5W im Idle mit M2 SSD verbunden. Leider hat das D3517-A1 Board nur drei normale Sata Ports und dazu noch 4 "Mini Sas HD" mal sehen welche verwendbar sind, da es ja insgesamt nur 6 sein sollten. Jetzt odere ich erstmal 2-3 Festplatten und einen NVMe für den PCI Slot. Hat jemand eine Empfehlung für einen wirklich günstigen Einstieg?

@mguttDanke für die Antwort. Ich schreibe dann wie es mit der Grundlast aussieht wenn es soweit ist. Erstmal werde ich den W550n für 220€ anschaffen und dann wenn es mal wieder gescheite Boards zu erschwinglichen preisen gibt baue ich neu. Das scheint mir für den Anfang ein guter Kompromiss zumal die Boards einfach gut sind.
