  3. i have a docker of sorts for this UMS thing, but seeing as it and user friendliness are very distant cousins it's damn near impossible to tell if it's doing what it is supposed to do. it basically seems to be software from the land that time forgot. it's in my private repo. https://github.com/sparklyballs/private-repo/tree/templates/Sparkly-Private i've opened all the ports the "wiki" said to and it shows up as a upnp source on my kodi instance, the folders are thus, /root/.config/UMS for config files and /opt/ums for the program files i haven't copied over any of the config files from the program files in the default install as is, you'll have to play with that yourself cos frankly i think this software is a pig.
  4. both machines access the same database via advancedsettings.
  5. i've never had a need for sources.xml on the headless instance. setup the sources on another machine and do the initial scan from there, unless you have secure or private shares in unraid for your media, you should have no need to add/edit a sources.xml file on the headless instance.
  6. did you let it run for a while before trying that command ?
  7. is there any possibility of getting git-core included so i can pull from git things i am on working and want to test in unraid environment without hassle of setting up a template or pushing to docker hub etc...
  8. i was just looking to get a slackpack for screen as i need to preclear a drive, google brought me here.
  9. This docker could benefit from a how-to etc.. but i'm not really the teacher type or a skilled communicator.
  10. the best i can do for you is to refer to this thread where they are dealing with issue of password protected smb shares. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=158297 the main gist of which seems to be to add a passwords.xml file
  11. screen grab of sequel-pro and my movie database showing smb shares.
  12. if i were starting from scratch , i do it this way. start a player machine up and allow it to create the emtpy databases in mysql, set the sources on the same machine and do the scans from there, using the headless instance only for updating.
  13. everything on my lan has fixed ip's rather and i've always used ip's other than hostnames, with the exception of the unraid webgui. but everywhere i've read on kodi/xbmc in a mysql environment has recommended ip rather than hostname.
  14. not 100% sure, but i have had some success before by making a virgin install (either on a new machine or temporarily moving .kodi folder), setting up addons etc in it, and then copying over the whole folder to the headless instance.
  15. that is not what this is at all. this is intended for people who wish to update their libraries via a headless server without having the need for a player system to be on. if you want plex functionally regarding transcoding and streaming then use plex. there may be future advances in this direction with kodi/xbmc but currently it does not do that.
  16. Don't use the interface for kodi, it's neccesary to have the webserver running to send updates to, but it's pretty much useless. there is no web interface for mariadb. what are you looking for by installing this ? because it's used for updating kodi library headlessly.
  17. another build finished, with this "stable" build. have removed the EDGE routine, because if this stable version works better, running edge to update will screw it up again. point release for the base image 0.9.15 to 0.9.16 , no other changes.
  18. Does that mean you'll be maintaining both docker containers? HELL NO, lol i'll maintain kodi headless as that is mine, mariadb is needos. i'll maintain this hybrid though.
  19. another build finished, with this "stable" build. have removed the EDGE routine, because if this stable version works better, running edge to update will screw it up again.
  20. i'm not sure either. i just pushed another build in which i added python-cheetah as i noticed something about it in the logs here. but i don't know if it will help your issue or not. on that link they also recommend clearing db. i just noticed a link to what binhex is calling a stable version that doesn't have this issue (allegedly). i'll give that a whirl. at least with dockerfiles being on git , reverting is easy if it doesn't work.
  21. hopefully that fixes it, if not, then i'm stumped lol.
  22. i've just added this to the dockerfile # Set the locale RUN locale-gen en_US.UTF-8 ENV LANG en_US.UTF-8 ENV LANGUAGE en_US:en ENV LC_ALL en_US.UTF-8 it's building over on docker hub...
