Low-power 2023+ Intel N & U series boards (all form factors) + info on turnkey solutions
I really hope these low powered boards become popular this year. I ordered a msi cubi because there were a few on eBay for a good price. While this setup certainly won't work for most, I already have a m.2 to SATA adapter. The msi also offers a SATA for a cache drive. I think the m.2 is only Gen 3x2 but that should work fine for a few HDDs. I'm curious why these vary between 19v and 12v. Most offer the same options as far as connections due to n100 being limited on how many lanes it has. I'm going to try to run the msi off 12v, probably not the best idea but I'm pretty determined to run my hdd enclosure and PC off the same PSU

Low-power 2023+ Intel N & U series boards (all form factors) + info on turnkey solutions
I've gone crazy the last couple days researching this very topic. Glad I stumbled upon this thread! I feel like I must be picky, are there any options yet for a n200 with either 2 nvme M key (1 for SATA expansion) or 1 nvme, 6 SATA DDR5 and 2 NICs is a bonus and 12v power would be preferable. I keep finding tiny PCs that are close to what I need but most require 19v or they only offer 1 nvme without another drive type for a cache. 12v is only requested because I run my drives in a 5 bay with SATA pass through. Throwing a 19v board in the mix (like the tiny PCs or asrocks n100) requires me to have 2 PSUs

Has anybody built a sub 20watt (idle) server WITH hardware transcoding?
Just seeing what's possible. I recently added a m.2 to SATA adapter to a Dell micro. With the HDD enclosure and second PSU I idle around 35-40watts. That's not terrible and the i7-11700 does a great job with transcoding. I had 2 UHD and 2 HD transcodes going and my CPU usage was around 30% It's probably not worth it to build another system, but I've read that the B550/5700 cand idle as low as 14w. The obvious CON to this setup is the lack of intels quick sync. The PRO is that many of these motherboards accept ECC memory. So that begs the question. Is the Intel arc unraid capable? I've seen posts elsewhere mention that at idle consumption on the a770 can be as low as 1w! However, the card is capable of 250w. Are they capable of transcoding and keeping overall consumption still low? I think it's a fun challenge to build a light server that doesn't miss out on anything, whether that's ECC memory or HW transcoding

[SOLVED] Plex Setup help (Network Type, Ports, etc.)
I am using Unifi but I'm curious if I'm having the same issue. When I setup Plex on a vlan I can launch it from the docker and it works fine. I can't access it from any other device on my network. I'm guessing I've overlooked something. When I switch it back to the same IP as unraid, everything works, including remote.

Docker with liquidctl and smartctl - Control your (NZXT USB) fan speeds with HDD temps
I just wanted to thank you! This was a pretty great workaround for my setup which is ran out of a dual bay HDD enclosure. The only option for cooling the drives was a on board temp sensor which wouldn't go off until the drives were well into their 50's This way I don't need to run on max 24x7 Thanks again!
