  1. Here are my syslog server settings Im gonna check out the other steps you posted alter when im home
  2. I had it over the last 2 days that my server was assumingly randomly crashing while I was at work. I have local logs enabled but since non were saved I assume it was a hard crash. I dont know how to allocate the issue. The power doesnt seem to be the issue. Im gonna attach my diagnostics. Maybe you guys have an idea what I could do. The only thing I did in the last few days was updating to the newest nvidia driver with the nvidia plugin. server-diagnostics-20250219-1838.zip
  3. I have the same issue on my side. Worked fine until yesterday. Dont remember if the app automatically updated but I personally didnt change anything
  4. I did had it set up like that with those parameters again (expet the --device...). Found a solution to my problem now luckily. Thanks for the help anyway!!
  5. Solved! Apparently the problem having "nvidia-persistenced" in the go.dat file on the flash drive. The gpu didnt seem to get out of P8 anymore. Weirdly enough its gonna go idle to P8 now on its own. Didnt to that when I first set it up thats why I had the line there to begin with. Imma watch it a little longer but so far it looks promising and fixed. Lets see if it stays that way
  6. Hey guys, after spending hours of try and error I'm just gonna make a post. So I noticed yesterday that my gpu transcoding for plex is not working anymore. I cant exactly say for how long but it worked like 2 weeks or so ago and I didnt change anything besides updating plugins/docker regularly. I also set up sonarr and radarr recently. I was hoping that updating unraid to 6.12.14 would maybe help but no luck. I tried so far: reinstalling nvidia-driver plugin from ich777 reinstalling plex docker turn docker off and on again switch the settings within plex off and on I'm using the plex docker from linuxserver with a lifetime plex pass, a quadro 1000 and I'm on unraid 6.12.14 now. My GPU goes into state P8 when Im not using plex. Idk if thats causing issues. I do that by having "nvidia-persistenced" in the go.dat file on the flash drive. I
  7. Hi guys, I would appriciate a lil help since I dont really know whats going on. My Disk 1 is showing a smart error. Maybe one of you thats more knowledged than me could explain to me what exactly is wrong and what I should do (replacing drive, just acknowledging the error etc). The drive name is disk 1 : Micron_1100_MTFDDAK512TBN_164914FC379F - 512 GB (sdc) server-diagnostics-20241027-1152.zip
  8. Hi Guys, Im current running my unraid server off an "old" workstation fujitsu workstation. I would like to build a new server for unraid since the workstation doesnt have much options when it comes to adding drives etc. I would love to save as much money as possible so I was wondering if its an good idea keeping the i5-8500T (and maybe the 16gb of ram) and build a new machine around that. Do you think thats a good idea or is it better to just start from the ground up? If I can recycle the cpu do you have any recommendations for hardware around it? I mainly use unraid for plex, hosting some small private gameservers for me and a friend (sometimes modded mc which requires quite some ram) and for storage. I do like playing around with new stuff and im still fairly new.
  9. What slot would I need and why exactly? Sorry im quite new to all of this. Im running unraid of an fujitsu esprimo q958. It does have 2 sata ports on the mainboard but no way I can run power to the drives to power them so I decided an external docking station might be easier.
  10. Hi guys, I'm very new to unraid and just been using it for a week. I got my hands on an sorted out workstation from work and figured its the perfect timing for getting into home server stuff since I have been planning on getting into it for a while already. I have a 256GB nvme drive that is on the mainboard, an old 250GB 850 Samsung EVO connected via USB and also an external docking station with 2 4TB HDDs connected via USB. All at least USB 3.0. Sadly the mainboard of this small workstation is very limited and I dont have a lot option connecting anything on the board directly via sata. I'm trying to figure out if my config is alright and if I need a cache drive for it and if yes which of my drives I should use for that. Heres my current config. MY appdata is currently on the nvme I would appreciate some advice! Thanks
