Have you tested it with 64bit?

I could not live without this script it makes a fundamental difference to unRAID real world usabilty. And why the hell isnt this thread sticky... done

I am not sure the licensing would allow it. This one instead - better fork of it: http://forums.nzedb.com/index.php Myk Newznab+ cant be forked so whatever that is it is not a fork of Newznab+ (at least a legal one) It could be a fork of Newznab (non plus) but thats like putting a bigger engine in a cheap car and claiming its as good as a Ferrari. I have been thinking about it an NN+ could be put in a docker if the user was able to define the SVN URL and pass as a variable.

*** SEAGATE 5TB EXTERNALS - MYSTERY SOLVED ***
bjp999 I think you probably just made seagate lose a lot of money and the community here save it. Personally I think this is forum news worthy as one person not seeing it and buying one is one too many. Do we have perms to add it to news?

yup see the sticky in this forum. I am all for variation and preference but rT + ruT + www server + flexget is not exactly slick. it is so easy to try something in docker you might as well have a shot and if an app is lacking then push for an alternative.

I would also love that!! For it to be universally useful a flexget container would also need created. I have used rTorrent for as long as I can remember and rutorrent for a 3+f years and TBH i find deluge better now. I got fed up with how stagnant rTorrent is e.g webseeds are available in every client but has an open feature request for 8+ years in rT Do yourself a favour checkout deluge. It used to be crap but now it good now. I think we should change this thread to a poll and use it as a poor mans voting system

mariadb has been created already probably best just to use that

yah keen to discuss as many options as possible but want to keep this thread clean just on devices if possible

cache_dirs - an attempt to keep directory entries in RAM to prevent disk spin-up
all i can say is it works perceptively fine for me

cache_dirs - an attempt to keep directory entries in RAM to prevent disk spin-up
Do we have any thoughts on how we can derive the number on a system by system basis. For instance one of my machines has 16GB of RAM now so I dont want to hobble the system artificially. On a happy note it is nice have cache_dirs back. My move to v6 had been seemless but the lack of cache_dirs made a tremendous difference to the real world "responsiveness" of the v6 system. Now I have cache_dirs again subjectively it is even better than v5. Everyone should run this.

Joe looks good. Out of interest does the 30k come from anywhere other than it being bigger?

cache_dirs - an attempt to keep directory entries in RAM to prevent disk spin-up
I modified the script. Changed ulimit to 30000 now it works Joe I can confirm this behaviour with v6b5a. cache_dirs -F -w -i "movies.*" sed: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory sed: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory sed: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory sed: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory ./cache_dirs: xrealloc: ./parse.y:3246: cannot allocate 512 bytes (98304 bytes allocated) I would suggest this can be considered a bug.

general rule of thumb people will load pastebin etc when they wont download a bunch of files. I would recommend doing that to maximise your reader list

Neo_X commendable work. As WeeboTech points out you need to look a bit deeper to get the info you actaully need. Look at this post for some useful relevant debug commands http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=4500.msg286103#msg286103

cache_dirs - an attempt to keep directory entries in RAM to prevent disk spin-up
Finally bit the bullet and moved my main array to the 64bit 6 series beta. cache_dirs is awful when you start the daemon it causes the whole webgui to freeze for a period longer than i was prepared to wait to see if it came back. I have a vague recollection this was solved somewhere in some thread?

I am curious, whilst cache_dirs is arch agnostic there was some talk about optimizing it for 64bit architectures removal of low memory restrictions. Is this still the case? Is there anything else we can tweak here to extract the maximum benefit form unRAID 6?

webGui on github
the world changes, things move on. I have no specific knowledge either way I am only interested here in v6 webgui here.

webGui on github
does that mean that 5.0.5 will not get to benifit from webGUI enhancements from here on? And will 5.0.6 fix this? Let me ask a question I am curious about. Is your system not capable of running 64bit? Let me answer from my point of view. My system is capable of 64bit but there so far aren't the plugins available on 6.0 that is use on 5.x. I also haven't found a prepackaged VM that includes all the plugin alternatives iwant. Add to the fact there is no test server for me to play with and the fact time is limited to when the kids and wife are asleep, and the reasons for needing to stay on 5 are pretty strong. no that's absolutely fine and senisble. What i was curious about is getting a feel for why people are essentially asking for v6 webgui features back ported to v5. So the crux of this is its a waiting game. At some point v6 will be stable and contain all the features needed from v5. Limetech may back port but thats not what i was intersted in here.

Questions about multiple license keys and OS/configuration redundancy
When planning your DR solution consider this.... dont use your backup key. This means set it up, ensure it works then physically remove it from the machine. USB keys a finite life when used and there no necessity to save the backup to the key itself. There are a world of options to store this trivial amount of date 100% securely for instance online. I say this as it seemed you wanted to have your key plugged in somewhere slowly failing at much the same rate as your primary for no real reason.

Almost no one should be using the scan user share options.

As confirmed byu Joe the -u flag is is an edge case almost no should use.
