I did that. all data saved except oops formatted it and forgot to cp all the /music/. probably the most expendable data to lose so could have been worse. all that porn, took years to curate! Edit: I saw your second second post. Yeah no I just copied the data to a drive on the array, oh well, about 4tb data saved. thanks for the help.

I've got like 3,000 movies, I don't wanna convert each one at a time obviously. And my laptop would melt not to mention having to transfer them over and then back etc. Can I get unraid to run this script on the files and just let it run in the background? Movies with awful sound mixing: Dark Knight Inception Watchmen Swear to god just volume up volume down every single scene change in Nolans movies. Even just wanting to watch Tropic Thunder now, I can barely hear the characters at all then BOOM BOOM EXPLOSION. I tend to have subs on all the time but I would rather read a book than a bloody movie. /rant My soundbar has DRC but it only goes up to 2, it's an AX3.2.1 HIsense. Sometimes AI mode makes the dialogue great and normalizes the explosions but other times just makes it ALL louder. These are all 7.1 soundtracks. I try the 5.1 if it's available but usually doesn't do much either. Please don't tell me I need some expensive DAC and free-standing £200 sennheisers or something. I know the mid-range is dialogue, so 5.1 should be better, but just isn't. I;ve tried turning off surround sound, virtual x, neural x, etc, bass -5, treble -5. Treble +5 helps a bit but still makes high pitched sounds loud.

Do you mean before I added it to the array? It was cleared and then added to the array as BTRFS along with the rest of it.

Oh I've already had it started multiple times since this happened. It fails to mount and nothing interacts with the drive so I just left it until I could be bothered sorting it out.

I ran that and get this output:

I forgot I was running an unbalanced gather move from other drives to /dev/sdl, after booting it said wrong disk, I did new config and started the array a couple times but it won't mount. I've tried all the btfrs recovery commands I found but they all give; does the array need to be off when attempting these? would it make any difference - in short, have I lost 6tb of data or is there a way I can get the drive mounted in the array again? (Would Unbalanced have deleted the moved data since the operation hadn't finished yet, it uses rsync right?) will it have removed each file after it was successfully transferred, or does Unbalanced wait until the whole operation finishes? Edit: answered my own question - the source data is all gone :( at least it was just my /anime/ and I've still got all my TV/movies. Thanks

unfortunately i'm not near the server until tomorrow.

I am having the logs tell me that I don't have plex_claim yes/no or the other one yes/no every startup. I tried both, and alternated, and I can't rid of the bloody error message. The server is claimed. IT says it pulls a config file from like etc/modprobe.d/plexmediaserver and in that file is plex_claim code. I tried commenting it out at first, no cigar, deleted it, it was remade. the little listing things make sad.

I put my new 18tb drive in and changed my parity drive to the 18tb one temporarily. I moved everything off the 16tb drive with 3k errors, and the 10tb one that just seemed off. unfortunately, both are well out of warranty period. I'm going to get 20tb for the parity drive next that gives me 2tb each upgrade now. won't be for a while though, what's the best time of year to find shucked 22-22TB EXOS on ebay?

Can you perhaps help me narrow it down then if you think I am doing to much on my server to get this? My erver has not only improved thrice hold since I bought it but I've also learnt what to or not to do, have 120TB storage, I would appreciate a starting point unless you're just nostradamus.

I just got a new 18tb exos thinking only one was dying and to replace it, but are both going? parity sync takes 4+ days if I start running it and I suspect it's one or both of these drives. I should be able to swap both with the 18tb one and use what spare space I have, should I add the 18th drive to the array and just use unbalanced to move everything off them both to it?

I am tired of seeing this in my logs. I tried following google results on how to raise it but they do not seem to be unraid-specific and do not work/persist after a reboot. I do not know which container it is but it really doesn't matter, how do I raise this value properly? Thanks
