  1. Am using Windows 7 .. I thought it was 10 that they minkeyed with? I did find and execute the commands that enable SMB1, SMB2 and SMB3. I tried using the IP address in Windows ... but remember my Linux box can not access the shares either. And my unRAID is Linux as well, so it doesn’t seem like the problem is Windoze. Will dig into this more today.
  2. unRAID is Linux and my JRiver box is Linux, and the latter can no longer access the former’s shares. I’ll bet if I get that fixed Windows will again be able to access my unRAID shares.
  3. I’ll look at naming. Maybe I should delete all shares and redo them?
  4. It was with mixed emotions that I found an entire thread to this. It is nice, though, to know that I am not alone. Can NO LONGER get my unRAID share to appear in Windows Manager, Windows 7 64-bit. It worked perfectly for several years and now "poof" although It has been several months/more than 6 mos maybe since I tried to access it this way to add content. (It's a JRiver Media Server.) <light went on> I just booted my Linux box running JRiver and unRAID share is not accessible from there either. <sigh> I was just about to list all of the things I found on this thread that I tried. Guess I should anyway, at least the ones that are unRAID server-related. My unRAID is v6.6.6 but was 6.6 before I upgraded it 30 mins ago. About 6 mos ago I upped it to 6.6 from .. I forget, but the GUI was not the one that is on this version. It is a static IP, set to be the local master. I just installed the Dynamix plugin and it verified it was the local master. I can ping the IP address from my Windows box and it appears on Fing. Thundar file manager (on the Linux box with JRiver) lists the main unRAID server share but says inaccessible. Now I am thinking that I have posted on the wrong thread ... please move it if so. Otherwise, where do I start?? BTW, the GUI is accessible from my browser.
  5. IIRC, there were at least two Extended Memory Managers to enable DOS to use more than "Bill's" 640K, and there were some incompatibilities where some programs did not see the extended memory.
  6. You caught me; this one is IR and in my Windows box.
  7. Once I have disabled the card's initialization display at bootup, how do I access the BIOS to check/change settings?
  8. @adn2377 - do a search for “LSI 9211-8i forum” and you will find other forums where this card and family of cards are discussed. There is a LARGE community using this.
  9. That’s what the good angel on my shoulder was whispering.
  10. I am looking for another card and am seeing OEM cards from China that, other than the missing LSI logo, appear to be identical to LSI cards. I'd guess LSI has their cards made in China and am looking for a thumbs up/down on buying the OEM card to save $20-$30. Jeff
  11. Sorry, I was too vague. My contact is the SAS9211-8i. But I see that’s the flashing can go both ways. Thanks.
  12. Can this card be flashed back to IR mode from IT mode?
  13. I do recall poking around in the notes and seeing a flash all command.
  14. Read this thread for the last 3 or so pages. I was helped by Fireball3. There was, for me, a lot of confusing information that needed to be boiled down. And I still don't have a clear idea of which steps I really needed. @Fireball3, what was the shorted path through what I just did? Jeff
  15. I just did exactly that, i.e. I flashed the firmware to IT mode and in the process removed the boot BIOS.
  16. The last operation it executed was to dump the card info. I'm good. Again, thanks for your help ... and patience. Jeff
  17. That worked!!! The card is operational in IT mode and unRAID now sees all of the attached drives. Good grief. Thanks for your help1 Jeff
  18. Will try that. I had ran 1.nsh and it seemed to successfully list the card info. Somewhere it wanted to flash with Dell file and I did not do that. Now rebooted to EFI. will try 6.nsh.
  19. I was able to navigate around EFI mode and I think I reflashed the BIOS. But I was not able to flash the SAS address. Apparently when I ran 1.bat it did not pull and save info from the card. Jeff
  20. WoooHOOO, I might need to delay Happy Hour to try this!
  21. When I booted to the EFI interface, there was a list of drives(?). Following this instruction " Select your drive by typing "FSx" with x being the drive letter of your USB drive. e.g. FS0, FS1" got me "unknown command" etc. So I was not able to access the needed files on the stick to accomplish anything. I will note that, using the boot USB instructions/files included with the download gave me a few "overwrite/don't overwrite" options when I unzipped the files to the already-prepared DOS boot stick. Should there have been any overwrites?
