  1. So I got the replacement hard drive, precleared it, rebuilt it, and fixed the filesystem structure on it.  I also ran a parity check right after that and there were no sync errors detected.

I no longer have a faulty drive or bad SMART reports.  I thought I would be okay, but I still cannot create folders within any of my shares.  It says I do not have the permission from within Windows File Explorer.  Looking at the error log that couchpotato is giving me, it seems like my shares are still set as read-only.  How do I fix this?

What else could be the problem?

  2. I'm having issues getting the NZBGet docker to start.  I used to have it running perfectly without issues until one day it just stopped running.  I think it had something to do with filesystem corruption, so I repaired the file system and got out of the "read-only" state I was locked in.  I thought that would solve my problems but it has not.

I removed the docker container and files.  Erased all traces of NZBGet and tried to start fresh.  Yet I still cannot get the docker to run.  I attached the log file:

  3. Okay, so if I understand you correctly my process should be:

    1. Buy new disk and preclear it

    2. rebuild new precleared disk as disk 6

    3. try to fix the filesystem with reiserfsck

    4. use the old disk 6 which is about to fail as a backup in case some files are lost when repairing the filesystem on the new drive

    is this correct?

  4. Looking at the SMART report I'm finding these two lines highlighted in yellow which according to my research may mean that my drive is about to or already is failing.  Should I even bother with trying to rebuild the file system and likely losing some data while it tries to do so....or should I replace this drive and use my Parity to rebuild the new replacement data drive?

    #	Attribute Name Flag	Value	Worst	Threshold	Type	   Updated	Failed	Raw Value
    187	Reported uncorrect	0x0032	099	099	000 Old age	   Always	Never	1
    188	Command timeout 0x0032	100	098	000 Old age	   Always	Never	38655492112

  5. I got this on Disk 6:

unraid found corruptions can be fixed only when running with --rebuild-tree

So I attempted to run the code --rebuild-tree

and then I get the following page:

    reiserfsck 3.6.24

    *************************************************************
** Do not  run  the  program  with  --rebuild-tree  unless **
** something is broken and MAKE A BACKUP  before using it. **
** If you have bad sectors on a drive  it is usually a bad **
** idea to continue using it. Then you probably should get **
** a working hard drive, copy the file system from the bad **
** drive  to the good one -- dd_rescue is  a good tool for **
** that -- and only then run this program.                 **
    *************************************************************

Will rebuild the filesystem (/dev/md6) tree
Will put log info to 'stdout'

Do you want to run this program?[N/Yes] (note need to type Yes if you do):

So I type "Yes" without the quotations and select check, but it just kicks me back to the previous page and doesn't seem do much of anything to rebuild the filesystem on it.  What am I doing wrong?  And according to the writing up there...I should be backing up the harddrive before doing this filesystem restore?

  6. Yesterday I found I have suddenly been unable to create new folders in my Movies share.  I can delete existing files and view the movies but once I try to create a new folder anywhere within that share, I get a "You need permission to perform this action" notification.  I haven't changed security settings or added users or anything like that.  In fact, when I first got the issue last night, the first thing I did was remove all the users except root (it didn't help).  I also tried running the "take ownership" command from within windows with a registry hack I found online.  I ran it in the root of the Movie share, but it ran very quickly and I don't think it actually worked.  Because I've run it in the past and the process usually take a while to go through all the files.

I read quickly in the forums someone who had a similar issue once before, they posted their syslog and were told that it was a reiserfs problem.  Most of my drives are in that format and I also have 3 drives in my array that have given me some concerns over their SMART status.  Two of them have a command timeout with a number following it.  And another has a command timeout in addition to a "reported uncorrect: 1"

Not sure what any of this means or how it can affect me.  I am planning on running a parity check tonight and hoping this all gets corrected.  If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

  7. NzbGet had been working properly for a few months now, until today.  It just stopped responding and started shutting itself down even though I have it set to autostart.  I checked the logs and it was showing an error with the username and password not matching (I have not changed them). So I backed up the config from the appdata directory and uninstalled the container and data thinking I could do a fresh install and re-input my settings.  nzbget still won't start though.  Here is what the log shows:

How can I get it back up and running? and preferably with my old config settings intact. Thanks.

  8. How do I check the logs? Oh and another thing. It keeps stopping itself even though I start it and have autostart set to "on"

In the unraid gui dashboard, click on the container's icon and select logs

I even tried removing the container and the data and reinstalling. still didn't work.

  9. I had Zoneminder installed for quite some time and it worked.  But today I was trying to open the webui and I got the error message: "You don't have permission to access /zm on this server."

I tried restarting the docker to no avail.  any help would be appreciated.  thanks.

Edit the container, don't change anything and hit save. It will recreate the container and see if that works

I did just that, but it still does not work. The connection is refused.

when I click the docker the browser opens the address: UnraidIPaddress:2424/zm/

that's the connection that gets refused.  So I tried removing the "/zm/" from the Url and it takes me to the page:

Ubuntu Logo Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page

    It works!

This is the default welcome page used to test the correct operation of the Apache2 server after installation on Ubuntu systems. It is based on the equivalent page on Debian, from which the Ubuntu Apache packaging is derived. If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at this site is working properly. You should replace this file (located at /var/www/html/index.html) before continuing to operate your HTTP server.

If you are a normal user of this web site and don't know what this page is about, this probably means that the site is currently unavailable due to maintenance. If the problem persists, please contact the site's administrator.

  10. I previously had this docker installed and it was working perfectly.  But today I am trying to reinstall the couchpotato docker and it doesn't allow me to tick any of the boxes in the settings.  I just noticed this behavior today.  I tried needo's docker as well and the same issue came up.  Does this have something to do with a couchpotato update and not the docker?  I am just trying to get CP up and running again.

thanks again for all the hard work and maintenance that goes into this.

  11. Just want to make sure everything is fine and dandy with my new precleared hard drive.

is this enough information to know if the drive is fine or do you require more?

    thanks in advance.

  14. I'm running unRAID 4.7 and using preclear script v1.8.  How do I read the results?  I'm using a 2TB Hitachi 5k3000, ran preclear as MBR: unaligned because I read that these drives are NOT advanced format.

    Thanks

    Results.txt

  15. I used the preclear script right before your latest release.  It was the one that supported advanced format drives.  I looked in my flash directory but did not find a preclear_reports anywhere on it.

When my preclear had finished, I typed:

    grep preclear /var/log/syslog | todos >> /boot/preclear_results.txt

...so I don't know if that affected the output of the results.

What steps must I follow so that I can get the simple-to-read results for my next drive preclearing?

  16. I used the new preclear script.  Is this hard drive fine?
