  1. care to share the link to get the front IO cable? Wow that is awesome! Im just going to use a USB Bluetooth Adapter connected to a Header on the mobo.
  2. did you make your own front panel IO cable or buy one? looking forward to pics!
  3. Who'd buy Apple hardware at their prices? Got a couple now, one built into a PowerMac case DEJA VU! I have just stripped a G5 PowerMac case and ordered a Lian Li PC6x Mobo tray from FrozenCpu.com. cant wait to get this baby built! Going to have an i5-750 + 8GB Ram + GA-55A-UD7 Mobo. care to share a picture of the inside of your PowerMac sometime? Anyway, back on topic, After Thinking about it, im fine with the Stats only showing Drives that exist. I can always check the "Main" page for that kind of info
  4. When i hit "Info" i get the nice "System Information" popup. but upon clicking "More Info" the browser appears to try loading "http://192.168.10.241/index/notifications/index.php" then shows a blank "System info page" Hopefully this helps. I did not reboot unRAID after installing the updated 6.0b Package. I just emptied my Browser Cache and reloaded the page.
  5. the modal works but is not complete and the more info button doesn't return anything Rest seems to work ... need to try the email thing but my server never sleeps so i won't even try that and it seems that i am running out of space good tomorrow is payday ... another 2tb disk needed Fixed my issues as well. the "More Info" doesnt work but the Stats page is fine now thanks. perhaps the Stats Page can list the disk bays not in use but mark them as empty rather thank not list them ?
  6. any chance you can add the APC UPS package to your simple features and/or have it configurable with your GUI? This would be awesome!
  7. no worries, just PM me if you want further testing or info. I do seem to have an odd setup with disks not added in sequential order.
  8. sure, here is my "VAR" for disks. http://pastebin.com/vUZdFh9j I also have this issue with the SMTP emails.... Can you also allow us to set the "Name" for the email account being used to send from. currently you are sending the name as the same as the email address. and the disks are not the correct "disk X" as you have disk 19 shown as disk 9 (see my above screenshot) cheers
  9. Seems I am doing the same as that user same error as well
  10. I have noticed a bug in the "Stats" page. Disk1 -> 4 are 2TB drives Disk15 -> 19 are 1.5TB drives I intend to populate 5 -> 14 with 2TB drives over the next two months. Other than this its awesome!!!
  11. If i put each drive in its own SpinDown group they spin down based on the global SpinDown time (ive got mine set at 2hours) FYI I have 16HDDs hung off two of these cards and the all spin down using the above fix. running unRAID 5b6a cheers.
  12. Turns out it was the format tasks failing due to the parity sync eating up all the IO, I repeated my process again but this time waited for the parity to sync 100% then hit format., about 10min later all drvies were formatted nicely I have since added 4x 2TB drives so I now have 20TB of protected storage and still room for another 7x 2TB Drives I am using unRAID without Cache and getting really good write speed. about 39-45MB/sec (depending on file size)
  13. Im doing my head in. can someone explain how to have the array "see" the drives as pre-cleared. I have a fresh install of unraid 5.0b6a along with all my drives fully pre-cleared. I assigned all the drives and then started the array. After that i let it finish its parity sync. Then i hit the format button to format the array. after this is actually started formating (clearing again) as the writes for all drives was climbing very fast. and has been for that last 3 hours (i killed the last one from earlier and then wrote zeros to the MBR's of all drives then precleared the again for this time) what am i doing wrong? i just want to have a new build with a clean pre-cleared array. HELP!! Should i just create a small array (Parity + 2x data) and then add drives one at a time? will that fix it?
  14. its still going..... been over 3 hours now
  15. and how long should that take on a clean disk? 2-3min each disk? providing that the parity sync is going on at the same time now.
  16. Ok with parity sync now at 10% (i let it go ahead without cancelling) I then hit format. I now have logs showing just this.... 17. The parity sync must complete for a new array. You can't stop it or you will not have parity protection. I'm quite certain you can press the format button any time during the parity sync. Once you interrupted it then unRAID must have though the parity was correct and you were adding new drives to an existing array which were not cleared. There is absolutely no point in running the preclear again. Do another initconfig and it should just allow you to format if necessary and also it will build parity. unRAID never will preclear any disk when you create a new array. It just builds parity to match whatever is on the disks, cleared or not. It will also create the partitions and allow you to format the disks if it is necessary. There isn't any issue. You screwed up the process when you cancelled the initial parity build. Peter I had already precleared the disks again and started with a formatted fresh UNRAID USB stick, created the array and now will let it do its initial parity sync before doing the format stage. from what has been said above, it should detect clean drives and the drives should "format" very quick. feel free to correct me
  18. So if I 1. Preclear All Disks 2. Create Array (and let it calculate Parity for it) 3. Then Format the array. based on your experience, will it detect the drives are clean when hitting format and then just work rather than formatting the entire array which takes hours!
  19. Not sure what you mean by "format the entire array". Each new disk has to be formatted. The parity will always be build for a new array or after the init command. Peter From scratch with 5.0-beta6a, i precleared 1x 2TB drive and 9x 1.5TB drives. after the 28 hours to complete the lot, i then assigned them to an array, then upon starting the array it went on to do a parity sync. now i stopped the parity sync immediately then choose to format the array (as all disks show unformated) now this stage, rather than taking 5min or so, was actually ignoring the pre-cleared state of the drive and formating them from scratch, meaning that after 30min of leaving it to think i noticed it was at 2% complete for the format. so i wonder if I am doing something wrong. according to the preclear_disk.sh thread here on the forum this process should not take that long. or do i need to assign them all to an array then reboot the box, then format? any ideas, because this issue defeats the purpose of being able to quick add drives as the are pre-cleared.
  20. Ive just had the same with 1x 2TB Parity and 9x 1.5TB drives. very annoying as im now re-preclearing then in an attempt to try again.
  21. Anyone else had the issue of preclearing all disks with the preclear script and then upon creating an array the format process precedes to then format the entire array rather than detecting the precleared disks and the format taking 2-3 min. any ideas? I then have to "initconfig" then preclear each disk again using "preclear_disk.sh -n -D -A /dev/sdX etc for each disk. heres hoping it will work after this second preclear.
  22. one word. AWESOME! this is better than i could hope for. really top notch stuff!
  23. Is there an issue if the "extras" folder installs the new gui after the simplefeatures addon? will the gui not work? I currently use my "go" script to install the gui then install the simplefeatures
  24. I put my discs in spin groups and they spin down fine. Each disc is in it's own group. What drive controllers are you using? IBM BR10i?
