  1. Background: I have 14 x 1TB drives and a 120GB SSD laying around and I'd like to use them to build a 2nd Unraid server that is purely for storage - no dockers / VMs etc (my primary unraid server does all of that amazingly well). I have everything I need (case, psu, ram, drives, spare unraid pro licence) but I don't have a MB and CPU so I'm looking for a combination that: gives me 15 or so sata ports allows the drives to run as fast as possible using a single parity drive is power efficient inexpensive I was looking at something crazy inexpensive like the ASRock C70M1, but it only has 4 SATA ports and a single PCI-E slot (8 x SATA card?) but that's only 12 ports, ideally I'd like to use all 15 drives. Also I was wondering if a CPU that weak could run the drives at full speed with the parity calculation overhead? If it's not up to the task, can anyone recommend a combination that meets my needs? http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/C70M1/
  2. Just to say that the device in that link works great with the LibreElec driver base. Happily tuned into all the HD channels in the UK - Boom! *drops mic* Glad to hear, think it should be me booming and dropping the mic... OK, you do that, I'll burp the baby and change his nappy :-)

  4. You're right, all of my 'friends' have taken great joy in lack of sleep :-)
  5. Ah that is a good resource. I've ordered the Nano-stick - I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works. The BlackGold is a PCI-E device so no USB port to swap. I did consider pushing it through to a Linux VM and experimenting with drivers there but then I remembered that I have a job and 5 week old baby :-)
  6. Sorry CHBMB, I was just updating to let others know that this device isn't working, I know it's not practical for you to support it (there's nothing at all in the logs of UR or TvHeadend). I've been looking for an alternative device and was leaning towards this one: http://www.pctvsystems.com/Products/ProductsEuropeAsia/DVBTT2products/PCTVnanoStickT2/tabid/248/language/en-GB/Default.aspx It seems to have good linux support, at least there are lots of people successfully using it on RPis with TVheadend. Do you have any idea if Unraid will support it?
  7. That link references the CrazyCat build, you tried that one? Doh! How did I not see that. Have switched to crazycat and I can now see the adaptors, just re-configuring TVheadend now... Just to update on this, whilst the two DVT-T tuners on this card are found using the Craztcat drivers, and TVHeadend can see them fine, they won't actually tune into anything :-(

  9. Hi Would it be possible to add drivers for the Black Gold BGT3620 twin DVB-T2 PCIe tuner card ? I've tried the LibreElec media build which detected my USB DVT-T device but not the PCI-E Black Gold tuner. I found reference to the linux drivers here: https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/BlackGold_BGT3620
  10. That's a good idea! It's a statically linked binary, so it would probably run directly in the unraid console. I'm all setup in my VM now, which I have configured for easy backup and restore, but if I didn't have a Linux VM already I think running it directly would be the way to go.
  11. I managed to get it all working in my Debian VM, I already have this for OwnCloud support (I found the Owncloud dockers to be unreliable) and adding Google sync was fairly straightforward with Rclone - http://rclone.org Rclone is actually pretty amazing for syncing myriad cloud accounts, it's fully scriptable and supports: Google Drive Amazon S3 Openstack Swift / Rackspace cloud files / Memset Memstore Dropbox Google Cloud Storage Amazon Drive Microsoft One Drive Hubic Backblaze B2 Yandex Disk The local filesystem
  12. Yes, I have CA installed along with 8 dockers and a couple of VM's. I've searched this forum and CA for 'Google', 'Photos' and 'Drive' but don't see any existing Dockers that are able to sync any Google services - but I thought I might be missing something, hence my original question. TBH when you told me to go search again I assumed I was missing something obvious, but I guess that's not actually the case. I'll use CA to force installed an RClone docker from dockerhub tomorrow and see if I can work through the issues.
  13. I sure did, the only reference I found was a guy who'd setup a VM to sync his google data. Is there are docker that already does this and I'm just not seeing it?
  14. Does anyone know of a docker that will allow me to sync Google Drive to unraid? Or more specifically, I just want to sync my Google Photos to my unraid (one way sync). I found a docker for RClone which seems like to would do the job but I wanted to see if there was something already in the Community Apps that would do this before I start down the road of installing an unsupported docker. Thanks
  15. UPDATE: Had to add "ENABLE_PRIVOXY = yes" variable too. I'm using PIA, I went to the site and generated new creds then setup the docker settings as below, it's all working fine now - thanks for your hard work Binhex I was wondering if there is an advantage to using TCP over UDP or if I should be using the strong encryption option, can anyone offer any advice on this?
  16. Update: I shutdown my server in the hope of finding a removable speaker on the motherboard (there wasn't). Anyway I removed the APC end of the USB cabled and cleaned the contacts with alcohol, rebooted the server and everything has been just fine for the last 12 hours.
  17. Hmmm I think you're right, but having tested the shutdown process by pulling the plug it works as expected. Now I'm wondering if it's possible to unload or disable the kernel module for system beep, as that's a workaround that I could live with until I have the funds to buy a new UPS.
  18. The UPS has run fine for 2 years, this is a recent problem. I initially just figured it was the UPS battery failing so I replaced it. The cable is the standard APC cable, USB at one end and proprietary connector at the UPS end.
  19. I have a really annoying loud beep that lasts around 10 seconds coming from my unraid box, the syslog tells me the Battery Backup is disconnecting but I have no idea why? I've changed the battery in the UPS to rule that out. Jun 26 08:25:57 bigbird apcupsd[17593]: Battery disconnected. Jun 26 08:26:08 bigbird apcupsd[17593]: Battery reattached. Does anyone have any ideas that I can test / try?
  20. Follow up: I had a couple of hours free today so I installed a KVM instance of Debian, it was actually very straight forward. After the install I mounted my OwnCloud share from the Unraid host, Installed OwnCloud 9.0.2 and configured everything. It was a very smooth process compared to my previous failure at attempting this with Arch Linux (Tagline: Linux for masochists) :-)
  21. Setting up an ArchLinux KVM instance looked too complicated for me, I read a bit about it and quickly gave up. Fortunately I had a RaspberryPi 3 laying around so I've turned that into a dedicated OwnCloud server with valid SSL certs etc. I have the Owncloud datastore on the Pi mapped to my Unraid Owncloud share and everything is working beautifully. Getting the Pi setup was trivial, I found several guides online and now have an up-to-date OwnCloud installation that I can backup and control myself. If the beta docker in Linuxserver.IO's repostory every makes it into the support channel I'll probably switch back, Owncloud is actually quite easy to move around once you grasp its structure.
  22. My linixserver.io Owncloud failed to login today too, I tried editing that file with nano, saved and restarted the docker but it's still not allowing me to login. I'm wondering if I'd be better off installing a Linux VM to run the OwnCloud server natively so that it can update without shitting the bed :-) I've become heavily reliant upon it and need the stability.
  23. Even a link to the status site would be useful for the uninitiated. I wasted precious moments contemplating my own existence before I though to look for the status site. :-)
  24. I'm getting a timeout when I try to install any new dockers: Pulling repository sparklyballs/mate-calibre Could not reach any registry endpoint Is it just me? UPDATE: Docker is down https://status.docker.com/
  25. Hey Binhex wouldn't it make more sense to create a support thread for each of your dockers, this 46 page thread is getting a little unruly :-)
