  1. ok thanks for clarifying. Checked with the commands you posted. Unfortunately the state shows 'active/idle'. This is also shown for array disks when they are in use. 'Standby' is indeed shown for spun down array disks but not for my unassigned device Sorry for my stupidness but I still don't get it
  2. I tried both. Mapping /data to /mnt/disk1/Nextcloud and changing the included/excluded disks aswell but my parity and disk1 still do not spin down when the container is running. I'm using Nextcloud together with Nginex-letsencrypt. Don't know if that's the reason maybe. Are you using it this way aswell? As my guide describes I'm using it with Apache. I was mistaken, apparently I do have it mapped as /mnt/user/nextcloud Do you limit your share to one disk via the share settings then? Will keep /mnt/user/Nextcloud aswell then and try to only include one disk. Is there someone else using it together with Nginex and have the disk mapped to /data spinning all the time? So I made some testing and its only the Nextcloud container that keeps my disks spinning (I removed Nginx temporarily). I also tried including only one disk to the /data share. Is there anything I can do? This issue really drives me crazy because I always let my server go to sleep when the array is inactive. I finally solved it. Modified the logging settings within Nextcloud from everything to only errors etc. Maybe someone else has this problem aswell.
  3. ok, thank you. edit: Are you sure that it is really not spinning? Because when I check out my Preclear Plugin under tools/disk utilities it reports the temperature and marks the drive 'green'.

  7. I actually have all disks included in /mnt/user/Nextcloud. Is this maybe the reason why my disks do not spin down? Should I include only one disk here maybe?
  8. had this issue myself until I added the custom.cnf file via telnet. Don't know why it didn't work with notepad++ for me before. Hope this helps for you aswell. I just recognied something else with my setup. I don't know what's the reason but my parity drive and disk 1 does not stop spinning anymore when I have Nextcloud running. I have /data from Nextcloud mapped to /mnt/user/Nextcloud on disk 1 and it seems something is happening there all the time. Does anyone else experience this?
  9. Hi, I've been using a precleared drive as a hot spare for quite some time now. I had the problem that the drive was always spinning after I woke up my server. So I installed the UD plugin and now the drive at least does show as spun down. I have not mounted the drive with unassigned devices or something. It's just not assigned to the array. So my question is if unassigned devices plugin really prevents the drive from spinning up or if the actual status is just not reported anymore? Just want to make sure that the drive stays really spun down just because I installed this plugin.
  10. I finally got it working I just edited the custom.cnf file via telnet. Don't know why it didn't work with notepad++ (I also set the line endings to unix)
  11. still can't get this to work tried the steps suggested but it still seems to ignore the change of the binlog format..... I also removed the # infront of the line What I noticed is that when clicking on the user in MySQL Workbench it says "no password is set for this account" although I set the password to "nextcloud"
  12. Hi, I tried to follow the guide by CHBMB to install Nextcloud with MariaDB but even when i change the binlog_format to mixed I get the following: An exception occurred while executing 'INSERT INTO `oc_users` ( `uid`, `password` ) VALUES( ?, ? )' with params ["admin", "1|$2y$10$Nl2x6fxx3Xd7c4dsukN4HOIjBW6q3ZAH98il5DL2et3eZpnlgNRPy"]: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1665 Cannot execute statement: impossible to write to binary log since BINLOG_FORMAT = STATEMENT and at least one table uses a storage engine limited to row-based logging. InnoDB is limited to row-logging when transaction isolation level is READ COMMITTED or READ UNCOMMITTED. I already tried reinstalling and restarting the MariaDB container but still the same. Now I read this: And I'm wondering how to change the file inside the container without accessing it through my smb share. Can someone help me here please?
  13. Can someone help please? is it normal that unassigned drives are spun up alle the time and never spin down? I'd like to have them spun down all the time.
  14. Hi, just for me to understand. Why am I not allowed to set a destination such as /mnt/user/Backup/USB for the USB backup (seperate destination) and /mnt/disk2/Backup/appdata for the cache appdata folder? Or do I misinterpret the quote above?
  15. Hi, I just used the preclear plugin for one new disk that I want to use as a replacement drive and therefore keep it unassigned. However, I'm using this command with the S3 sleep plugin after wake up to spin up all drives. /usr/bin/wget -q -O - localhost/update.htm?cmdSpinupAll=Spin%20Up >/dev/null As I'm a Linux noob I don't know if this only spins up the drives of the array or unassigned devices aswell. But it seems so because the precleared disk is spun up after wake up and will never spin down anymore. So can I adjust the command above so that it only refers to the array? Or how do I achive that the precleared disk does not spin up anymore?
  16. Are there any news if this might be possible with the release of v6.2 already? I'm very exited to use my Q25 build with LibreELEC and SteamOS at once
  17. Normally I shut it down cleanly, so its stopped after wakeup. I did not try to suspend it yet. Help please
  18. Hi, I'm using the S3 sleep plugin to set my server to sleep when not in use. What I want to do know is to start my LibreELEC VM after each wake up. So how do I achive this? Is there any command I can put in the custom command field of the S3 sleep plugin maybe? Thanks, Marv
  19. Hi, I have a problem to start my LibreELEC VM after S3 sleep automatically. The "Auto Start" button in the VM settings is only meant to start the VM after starting the array, is that correct? So is there any command I can use to wake my VM after sleep? Thanks in advance.
  20. edit: don't know why, but the error is gone and everything is working again
  21. Hi, I just reinstalled the crashplan docker because I had the black screen issue before (described a few pages back) But now, when I try to enter the webUI I get: "Failed to connect to server (code: 1006)" Does anyone know how to solve this please?
  22. I have another question regarding the volume mappings. Is it possible to add another mapping just for the user files so that I have for example /var/www/owncloud/data >> /mnt/cache/appdata/owncloud and another one like /user >> /mnt/user/owncloud Is this possible somehow? Because I'd like to have the appdata folder on my cache as I have with all other containers but the user files on my array for protection. How do other people handle this?
  23. just be patient. I had the same problem. It took some time for me aswell until it started. Hmmm, yeah I remember I had problems too. But I found this guys quote, enjoy! http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=35052.msg455964#msg455964 Hm, thanks for help but I don't see any difference to the HeidiSQL instructions except that MySQLWorkbench is used. Did you receive the same error as me and do you also use HeidiSQL? still can't get this to work. Did anyone has this issue aswell and solved it? I finally solved it. I had to put a % in "from host" instead of using my local LAN in HeidiSQL But I don't know really why I have to do this because as I understand this it should work the other way aswell!?
