  1. ahh I think I'm getting my wires crossed sorry, my appdata is set to /mnt/user/appdata/PlexMediaServer so rather than user it should be cache?
  2. /mnt/user/ I was under the impression if it was set to cache I wouldn't be able to access the content on the array on the stuff that hadn't been moved by the mover yet? The issue itself isn't exclusive to plex, though it MAY be exclusive to docker, as when copying files in MC the cpu doesn't spike anywhere near as much as it does in Krusader
  3. Just in case anyone is interested, still having issues, have replaced my PSU in the hope it was a hardware issue, it needed changing anyway as I was probably pushing it with the amount of hdd's I have now. Alas no change, still happening. Still in the hopes its something hardware related (as it means it's some I can actually fix), I've been testing a file on each drive to see what makes it spike. So far I've done the last drive I added (hdd) and the cache drive (ssd) I played a file in plex from both drives and both played fine, however I noticed when I reset the playback setting to unplayed within Plex, this caused a significant spike on the cpu (70-80%) where as when just playing the file it didn't go above or even reach 10%. This seems odd to me? infact I can practically crash the server now on command by just hitting played and unplayed in plex a few times. Does that happen for anyone else?
  4. Thanks, just having a read of that thread. Seems it affects the entire server where as I can still get on the gui so mine seems localised to docker. Back when I was on 6.7 when docker would become unresponsive, it would knock out the vm too (pfsense) but I don't recall that happening on 6.8, if it did it was only the once. Do you think I might need to just wipe the docker image and start again?
  5. ah yeah, its the binhex-delugevpn docker container which has some openvpn stuff built into it. whats that? and how do i go about fixing it? could that be the issue?
  6. Not a clue what that is, could it be an old container that was removed? don't recognise any of the names there...
  7. Hi, I'm still having issues with my CPU (i5 4690k) spiking on 6.8. I was originally on 6.7 and was told there was a bug on that version which could be why i was having problems and it was fixed on 6.8. On 6.7 I couldn't run one or all of (not sure which) Nextcloud, letsencrypt or mariadb. and when i upgraded to 6.8-rc6 everything seemed to be finally fixed but when i came to do a library scan on Booksonic, the cpu spiked again, so I shut that down thinking (hoping) because that app isn't being maintained anymore its no longer compatible, its not ideal but I can live without it for now. Then a few days later I tried to do a library scan on plex and that also caused the cpu to spike. This was much more serious, as I use plex practically everyday. I noticed rc7 became available and quickly updated hoping that would fix my problem, and its been fine for over 3 days it been running, up until when i added a torrent in deluge, which caused it to spike AGAIN. Could this be some kind of hardware issue somewhere? I've tried two different quad nics a while ago thinking it was related to my pfsense setup but it didn't change anything. What about possibly rebuilding my docker containers, kind of don't want to do this if i can help as I'm worried about losing all my settings and metadata in plex, plus, Nextcloud wasn't exactly a walk in the park to setup, but if theres a chance it could fix my problem I guess I need to do it? Could it be the docker image size? I currently have it set to 30gb with 10 containers installed. On the docker settings its saying I have "Total to scrub: 6.77GiB" Is this anything i should be concerned about? I've attached my diagnostics which were taken just when it spiked again. Thanks again for your help babs-diagnostics-20191126-2113.zip
  8. Hi Squid sorry to bother you again, was this definitely fixed in 6.8? I'm still getting issues when moving files around either through Krusader or MC. being on 6.8 seemed to stop the PfSense VM crashing as well until just and all i did was start a library scan in Booksonic...so now thats unstable as well babs-diagnostics-20191120-2155.zip
  9. ah ok thanks.... I'm worried I messed up already, in a slight panic i went to the vm manager under settings and noticed the VirtIO driver ISO had a link to download again so i clicked that, will that have botched something? Edit - That dummy fix worked (thanks) so I guess I'm good! just weird about the cpu overload thing happening again (though on a a file move this time, I tried MC and Krusader) hopefully that will be fixed in RC7..
  10. Everything has been working great, but I was just moving some files in Krusader tonight and it hit 100% CPU again.. is this another bug? OK now I'm worried.....I just noticed my PfSense VM has disappeared from the vm menu on unraid...its still running though...... I'm confused?? bit worried to restart in case it disappears completely
  11. Just tried the update OS thing under tools but its saying I am already up to date... can I do it manually without losing all my settings? or do you mean grab the RC6?
  12. Hi all, I recently installed a PfSense VM onto my unraid server and its been working great, I reinstalled my dockers and it seemed to be working ok for a week or so, then i tried to reinstall Nextcloud, Letsencrypt, and mariadb and for some reason that caused the CPU to spike at 100% across all cores (i5-4690k) so i removed those docker containers and it seems to of worked (at the time). I had a google and found a thread in here i tried to resurrect thinking my problem was similar to the one originally posted, however it appears to be a bit more serious: I was literally just about to start watching something on plex after adding a few torrents to deluge and moving a couple of files about in Krusader followed by running a library scan and low and behold, its spiking again, and this is without nextcloud etc running, just 7 of my usual containers. Oddly enough, it didn't completely take out docker this time, nor the PfSense VM, but it went sluggish causing plex to not work so I've since killed that (as well as duckdns, and openvpn which I'm not using currently). I caught the diagnostics when it happened but my knowledge with this stuff isn't great so I don't understand much. Can anyone help? Does it make sense to any of you guys? babs-diagnostics-20191116-2211.zip
  13. Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I think I'm having similar issues, however its not nzbget/sab for me or anything like that as I haven't ventured into that area yet... For me, it APPEARS to either be mariadb, nextcloud or letsencrypt (or all together..) which i added by following SpaceinvaderOne's nextcloud tutorial. I also recently installed pfsense but that seems stable until i start these particular dockers. How do I go about allocating cores to different docker containers? I'm not seeing any options for that? and is that definitely the cause? My cpu is an i5 4690k so can't really understand why it would be struggling managed to catch it happening just so i collected the diagnostics, oddly though when i putty in and try docker stats it shows barely any CPU usage yet my dashboard is pretty much locked at 100% CPU It's especially annoying for me as the server is also running my firewall so when it overloads it shuts down pfsense as well babs-diagnostics-20191113-2020.zip
  14. I think you might be on to something there...although I'm sure i used krusader/mc to copy the files back over to the new drive. I guess i probably should of just used the shares and made them not cache? and then changed them back once the drive was installed. Ok so just determining size now....seems it is right somehow my downloads (torrents) folder is 643GB and then my appdata is 226GB so yeah im doing something wrong with that I think. I might delete the thumbnails on plex, i very rarely use it. See how much that removes as for my downloads I think thats my mistake theres more there than i realised. Really sorry for wasting everyones time! just gotta lay off the downloads for a bit!
  15. folder properties on the share under windows, which i know probably isn't an accurate measure but I wasn't sure how else to check it...either way it doesn't seem to make sense, I feel like (outside of plex growing at least) I was downloading and storing more on my 500gig drive file system is btrfs Added my diagnostics zip, but as you say worried its not going to help babs-diagnostics-20191023-1923.zip
  16. Hi, Sorry for the vague title. Currently on 6.7.2. I have a 1TB SSD cache drive in my unraid server (upgraded several months ago from a 500gb that was filling up to quickly) and i've noticed recently that this one appears to be filling up stupidly quickly as well.... Problem is, the capacity doesn't seem to add up when i check the properties on the contents of the cache in windows...The only thing on there of substance is my plex metadata which comes to a whopping 200gb for some reason but the rest when all totalled up is less than 300gb (so say roughly 500gb total). I've tried running the mover and everything that should be moved has been moved yet, unraid is still reporting it being 90% full when it isn't. Any ideas? (thanks in advance!)
  17. Genius, sorted and up and running. Thank you so much
  18. Not totally sure....i set my "host path 2" set to "/mnt/user" (due to the plugin being set up this way I assumed?) as per here:
  19. Had the same thought last night, so I moved some stuff around to match how the new docker has it. MC screenshot shows appdata on the left (docker) and apps on the right (plugin) In "apps" there is a folder inside "application support" called "Plex Media Server" so I just copied this across. And voila it worked kinda.....more on that below Oddly enough, it looked like it didn't work originally as it seems to take the docker a while to "kick in" I get a "this site can't be reached" page for a while then all of a sudden it just starts working, is that normal for docker? should i try linuxserver plex instead? I just picked the first one on the list as i recognised the binhex from my deluge docker. Upon further testing though, something isn't quite right, the file structure is different so none of my media is linking up. mnt/user doesn't seem to exist? as you can see below, this is what Plex is seeing under mnt I'm guessing I've got the wrong path set? (/mnt/user)
  20. Scratch what i just wrote....the docker is working but it hasn't picked up my database, its acting like the whole thing is new.... any ideas?
  21. Ok, makes sense copying across now (wow this is a big folder!). On the docker image for plex the default is: /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-plexpass So I'm changing that to: /mnt/user/appdata/plex Also makes sense, kicking myself for not realising that, if i change it now it won't find my library where it will be looking for it as per the old database file(s). Not the end of the world, I don't use my server for much else. Nope, thank you. I think I'm understanding, thank you so much for your help, once its copied i'll install it and see what happens
  22. I'm really sorry I'm not following... why am I copying it (backup?) and what am I doing with it? I thought I'd be just pointing the "AppData Config Path" at it no? I don't know why but i have an "appdata" share and I also have an "apps" share (possibly a default option on a previous docker setup that i just ran with). The appdata share doesn't look like anything is actually inside it. for the "host path 2" should i just change that to either my movies or tv folder? and then add the other one with the "Add another Path, Port, Variable, Label or Device" option at the bottom? That gives me this screen, but I'm not totally sure I've got it filled out correctly. Container path? Description? Really sorry, although its become apparent I've been using Unraid, I'm very much still a noob
  23. Not anymore, the plugins gone unfortunately. Could try reverting back and having a look, don't recall there being much in terms of setup on the plex plugin. I have an "apps" folder which has a folder for "plex" inside which i assume is for the database and I also assume, as a plugin, it had access to the entirety of mnt/user, which is what the docker seems to default to (haven't installed it yet). I'm thinking now i may of not totally understood shares when i set this up, I probably should of had a "media" folder with separate folders for TV and Movies inside. Unfortunately I have two shares; 1. "TV" and 2. "Movies" and i can't see a way of mapping both in the docker app other than to leave it as mnt/user. If i can help it, I'd rather not have to move these shares.....theres a lot of content there and sorting it all out again in plex would be a bit of a nightmare, can i use the add path link at the bottom of this screen shot to map both "TV" and "Movies" shares? Also not really sure what the key 1 - 4 items are and if they need to be changed....
