  1. No I gave up but managed to get some of the onboard USB passed through.
  2. No problem, i've had a lot of help from this community, good to know I've given a little back.
  3. Thanks Seems like it might be an issue with the Crucial MX500 as other people are having the same problem.
  4. I had the same problem with my Ryzen 1700 on an Asrock M/B and got it fixed by changing the power settings in the BIOS for the PSU Sorry cant remember of the top of my head what I changed it to, It had something to do with it going into a low power mode I think.
  5. Every day I get current pending sector is 1 warnings but after some time it returns to normal I have checked the smart report and it doesn't seam to show Could some one please advise me how do I fix this so as not to keep receiving the warnings? I have included the smart report CT1000MX500SSD1_1902E1E1D3DC-20190413-2034 (1).txt
  6. (SORTED) Turns out it didn't work because I hadn't added "ata" before the disk id 😳 Thanks Spaceinvader
  7. Is there any fix to this? I have the same problem I can't add a hard drive as another disk to a W10 Vm, I haven't changed the vdisk name and changing it to manual doesn't work. I don't know how to add it manually by editing the xml Thanks
  8. I accidentally started a scrub on my new 1TB drive and it turned quite hot (54 degrees) is this normal it probably only has about 200GB on it. Is the scrub more for a system with 2 cache drives? Thanks
  9. Could someone please advise me as to where i'm going wrong, I would like to pass through a USB PCIe card to my w10 Vm to allow hot swap usb devices I purchased this card as it seamed to be one that worked for other people https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JEVLEFQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Inateck 2-Port PCI-E USB 3.0 If I set the PCIe ACS overACS override to both it isolates the card And after stubing "1b73:1100" in the Syslinux configuration The USB card shows in the available pci devices But after selecting the USB card and booting the W10 VM it sometimes hangs on boot and need to be forsed to stop and when it does start I can see the card in device manager and have loaded the drivers but when I plug in a mem stick it shows in unraid and not on the VM? My system spec Unraid 6.6.7 Ryzen 1700 cpu ASRock X370 Gaming K4 AMD X370 16GB RAM
  10. I will be installing a fresh install of windows 10 as a VM, is it better to have it installed on the cache SSD or install W10 on the bare metal the set the VM to use the SSD W10 was installed on? The cache drive is 1TB SSD and the other SSD I could use for the VM is 256GB What are the advantages and disadvantages? Thanks Unraid 6.6.7 R1700 Asrock 370X Gaming K4 16GB ram
  11. I have an old 128MB PCIe Graphics Card 128 MB ATI Radeon X300SE MS V025 gfx card I was going to use as the UNRAID GUI card, but when even i try to use it as Primary, UNRAID grabs the Radeon HD 6670 in the 2nd slot and is not visible in the system devices, only the 6670 is showing (see pic below, this is both both fitted) But if I remove the the 6670 then unraid gui picks up the x300se and uses it for the GUI Here's the Sys/Devs with a GT210 I borrowed inplace of the X300 to check 2 cards did show. should I just ditch the X300 and get another for the GUI? Any recommendations for a super basic, cheap, low power card the will work just for the GUI? My system is running Unraid 6.6.7 Asrock x370 Gaming K4 R 1700 16GB ECC ram Thanks
  12. Ok thanks, didn't want to be running the vm on the 2nd card if it was going to make a big difference.
  13. I would like to pass through a gfx card to vm's and maybe do a little light gaming as well as photoshop, does it make much difference if the vm uses the 2nd gfx card slot @ x8 because unraid always seams to grab the card in the first slot, i don't seam to have an option to choose the primary in the bios, is it possible to tell unraid the card to use for the GUi? My system is R 1700 Asrock x370 gaming K4 m/b 16gb ram Gfx cards as undecided as yet Thanks
  14. I have now gotten the Ryzen 1700 and updated the BIOS so it can use the 2600 but now I have the 1700 I think i'll keep that one, any reason I should keep the 2600 over the 1700? I will mostly be using the server for storage, downloading, and one or two VMs with gfx card passed through to use as a daily driver that could possibly do a little light gaming
  15. After contacting asrock support they said it most be old stock as they updated the Bois on new boards over a year ago so I must have gotten an older one, one option is AMD can loan a cpu for the update but I have decided to source one my self.
  16. CPU AMD Ryzen 5 2600 M/B ASRock X370 Gaming K4 AMD X370 S AM4 RAM 1 x 16GB Crucial ECC CT16G4WFD8266.18FD1 16GB DDR4-2666 EUDIMM 1.2V CL19 My new build fails to boot even to the bios and just gets stuck in a restarting loop, has Dr DeBug BIOS code "CO" I'm wondering if this is because the board shipped with BIOS version 2.30 but on the Asrock support page says the CUP is supported since version 4.6 Does this sound like it could be causing the fault and how can I update it if it cant boot? send the board back and hope to get a newer version or get a supported CPU to update the BIOS then sell the CPU? Anybody had this problem? I have tried resetting/clearing the CMOS Thanks
  17. I wouldn't use the UNRAID GUI very often but the GUI function has helped in the past when I had an IP problem and wasn't able to access it via the web browser so would be nice to have that option. Can I then boot up a VM and have it grab the same GPU? I assume i'd have to reboot the server to let UNRAID get the GPU back? Or is it a much better to just get a cheap fanless PCIE GPU for UNRAID (the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Processor i'm looking at doesn't have graphics) Thanks
  18. Looks like it supports VT-d after a bios update. https://www.asus.com/nz/support/FAQ/112317/ Anybody on here use this board?
  19. I'm interested in running UNRAID and also using it as my every day pc from a VM I have an Xeon e3-1265l v2 cpu, 16gb DDR3 ecc ram, case, power supply and drives but before I buy the M/B ASUS P8B WS can anyone tell me if it will be able to pass through a gfx card to a VM running on UNRAID I know its all old tech now but I cant afford to spend alot on this project Thanks
  20. Thanks for the update I would need to try this again.
  21. Can the DSM update from inside the gui? When I got it running some time ago it worked until I tried to update it and in the end gave up using it.
  22. I see the Dell Precision T1600/1650 boards support my CPU, RAM and a GFX card, has anybody tried passing through a GPU on this board? am I likely to have a problem with it being a DELL? Thanks
