  1. here it is. hope it helps. syslog.txt.zip
  2. Hi hope the smart guys can find the time to look into this and help me out. I have periodic irregular system freeze for example till 31st 16:02 the system was up for 11 days. at that time it froze after the hard reset and reboot it worked till today. the unRaid becomes unresponsive. the screens of the VMs are visible but not responsive. no access via network. I dont have the terminal screen as its used by one of the VMs. attached is the previous freeze log of the "fix common problems" addon that runs continuously. (accept today ) thank you in advance for any help tower-diagnostics-20170131-1602.zip
  3. looking for a way to edit the list of CPU cores in the dashboard webGui based on the assignments to the VMs I have 32 cores. 3 constantly running VMs I would like to see the different color for each core pair, to mark it as belonging to certain VM. a more complex wish is to dynamically see "who" is using the core, on a level of plugin/docker/vm thanks
  4. people can anyone give me an advice of how to configure the above in my Sierra VM? I am not sure if this is at all possible even in the unRAID OSX VM... Generally I am at the stage that I have GPU, USB-pci board passthrough and I didnt notice any issues (accept I had twice in the last month, a total Unraid freeze and had to hard reset. I am running the troubleshooting mode of "fix common prob" addon till the next time..) I wanted to see if I can get the GPU (MSI RX480 Gaming X 8G) temperatures readings and control the fan (maybe). It bothers me that in no stress mode the fans start spinning and stop after 2 sec and this repeats itself all the time) So far, i tried to install the HD monitor. and see that I have the FakeSMC.kext installed. installed the HDsensors package 6.23.1417 which is the one that lets the HWMonitor to start. the latest 6.24.1421 didnt work. I see some HD temps and SMART data. dont really understand what it means as its a VM disk!? I see the battery status of the BT connected keyboard and trackpad. but no other GPU/CPU sensors... I'am not clear if using the HDsensors pkg is the right way to go. please advise
  5. Gridrunner I used your great tutorial (like always, thank you very much) and successfully passed through the USB-3 controller the line in the syslinux.cfg is: "append vfio-pci.ids=1033:0194 isolcpus=2-13,18-29 initrd=/bzroot" But as far as I understand I passed through based on the vendor-device marker. What I am confused is actually to know how many USB controllers I have on my board. I am clearly having a hole in my education in this matter. does the bellow mean that I have 4 controllers that I can in theory passthrough ? And should I understand that actually I have two options to passthrough. One is by isolating the vendor-device in the syslinux.cfg (stubbing) and the other is by modifying the VM xml? in which case I can passthrough based on the separate device (even having 2 devices of the same vendor) ? I have installed an addon PCI card with Fresco Logic. so now I have one more. disregard that for the sake of my question please. 00:1a.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation C600/X79 series chipset USB2 Enhanced Host Controller #2 (rev 06) 00:1d.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation C600/X79 series chipset USB2 Enhanced Host Controller #1 (rev 06) 08:00.0 USB controller: NEC Corporation uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 04) 09:00.0 USB controller: NEC Corporation uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 04) 83:00.0 USB controller: Fresco Logic FL1100 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 10) Here is the output of the USB info script: Script location: /tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/USBportscripts/script Note that closing this window will abort the execution of this script Bus 1 --> 0000:00:1a.0 (IOMMU group 9) Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. 8. in my Win10 VM, I dont see the L3 cache. using the CPU-Z for example. I have a poor performance, about 50-60% of what is expected. this is the first thing I have noticed trying to understand I googled some and found that there is a recent patch for the KVM/QEMU to pass the L3 to the VMs : http://git.qemu.org/?p=qemu.git;a=commit;h=14c985cffa6cb177fc01a163d8bcf227c104718c What should I make of it? where is my L3 of 20Mb ?
  9. had the same problem of dropping to Shell at the beginning of win installation procedure. my solution was to change to another Windows ISO downloaded directly from microsoft.
  10. absinthePhD eventually, did you succeed to passthrough the 1070? how ? what are the main configuration points and steps thanks in advance
  11. guys I have a problem to passthrough the Gigabyte GTX1070 in my setup. please help. what is the setup you use to make it work pls? Seabios ? i440fx-2.5 ? what the XML looks like in respect to the GPU .... What is the setup in Windows that I need to have? when I am in the VM via VNC I see the 1070 card, have the error 43 code. As I am writing this message, I am trying to learn how to fix it. any suggestions? I have the ROM file dumped for the card, but this is not helping I am able to boot from the 1070 as standalone I have 2 cards. the old GTX560 as primary to boot from in slot 1 (successful) I am able to pass through perfectly the AMD RX480 from another server so the basic "environment" is working. (supermicro x9dai, 2x E5-2670 , 64GbRAM, 4TB disk space) thanks in advance
  12. I have done it Morti before. same status. Question: when I supply the ROM file in the XML. I dont believe it overrides the internal ROM of the card, is it? I am thinking that maybe my ROM which is 70.24.2e.00.02 doesn't allow for passthrough. the Gigabyte gtx560ti (GV-N560OC-1GI) doesnt also have the EUFI support. in principle, can I use some other ROM file instead ? what does it do exactly ? (I have tried of course and it didnt help)
  13. some info bellow: I am able to passthrough the MSI-RX480GamingX card alright. so the basic setup of my MOBO/CPU/Unraid works. I have tried to move the cards between the slots. tried one card at a time. tried different configurations of Seebios and OVFM or Q35 or i440 versions. tried with GPU-Z download bios file and also with the one I dumped via SSH. tried with <rom file='/mnt/user/isos/vbios.rom'/> and <rom bar='on' .... the IOMMU ok nothing shows on GFX560 connected screen. when the Unraid boots i see boot messages. Then after I start the Win10 VM the screen goes blank. no errors that i can see is there any sequence of steps I need to follow for this to work? is my card "special" in any way? 14. in the windows VM ? it is switched off automatically. I checked. and I am not clear how the internal windows 10 settings affect the initial startup of the VM in the Unraid? as soon as I start the VM it should show me the boot messages even before the Windows10 starts. am I wrong ? thanks
