I'm in a similar situation, either go with xeon, 2670s or with Ryzen. Going second hand xeon 2670s with ram and board works out similar cost to a ryzen 1700 and 32gb setup. Maybe someone that has moved from xeon to ryzen would be be able to shed more light on the best option. Myself personally, I'm waiting a little longer for ryzen to establish with Unraid.

I have the following 6tb parity Disk 1= 2tb Disk 2= 2tb Disk 3= 1tb I have purchased a 6tb drive to replace disk 1,2 and 3. Whats the best way to do this please.

Thanks for the replies. So can i use this current 250Gb SSD for VMs ? How do i do this, keep it as an unassigned device? I can then then purchase a 500GB SD as the Cache -
I have a Samsung 250Gb SSD. It's used fir a couple of VMs and I have around 130gb spare for my download folder, torrents. Is it normal to need to upgrade this to a 500gb, it's just it runs low most the time. Is a 500gb cache normal or excessive, or can I utilise the 250gb better. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

It says i have errors with the HDD, how do i correct this? Should i allow media folder to use cache?

I did that and it sorted the issue, i was also missing a / from the config which i changed. now eveything is good Thanks for the help

Hi, When i download a torrent it is going onto the cache drive but not moving to my share folder, i have tried MOVER but still nothing. Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong please.

Thanks, ill keep watching. I am holding off my build pending ryzen and unraid, Unraid takes priority, hardware comes second

I have looked through the options for SATA cards. So pretty much all Marvell Sata cards wont work with Vitalization turned on ?

Hi Johnnie, That does sound like the issue,. Squid has this card working, but also mentions its compatibility with certain hardware. I can return the card, is there a recommended 4 port Sata card?

I still cant get the HDD to show up in UNRAID. The HDD shows up on boot and when i enter the startech bios (ctrl +M) but not in unraid?
