    I need to upgrade from my faithful ~5yr old GTX 750Ti to something that can handle 4k, in a small form factor, since I'm adding 4k content to my main Unraid server.

    I'm contemplating these 3 options:

    - GTX 1050Ti: it should just work

    - GTX 1650: the successor to the 1050

    - RTX 570: can't seem to find it in small form factor

    I'm leaning towards the GTX 1650 (even if it isn't Ti).

    I'll appreciate any advice or experiences on the matter.

    Yes, I would go for the GTX 1650 better value for your money. GTX 1050 Ti Average G3D Mark 6030 OpenGL: 4.5 $170 vs GTX 1650 Average G3D Mark 7750 OpenGL: 4.6 $150 and both are 75w cards. The RX 570 is cheaper $130 but is a 150w card twice the power draw and heat, will cost more money over time. OpenGL: 4.5 Average G3D Mark 6890 and like you said "can't seem to find it in small form factor".

  2. This is the only solution I know of that you can do with the vm running at the moment:

    I know this is not what you are looking for but just thought I would also mention: that you can backup your vm settings while it is running with: vm_settings_backup (This script will copy all vm xml and ovmf nvram into a dated vmsettings folder to backup location set in script) within the User Scripts Plugin.

  3. These cards are meant for a server chasis which have high air flow not desktop style cases if that is what you are using so you will want to add a fan on the 9207-8i heatsink or a fan in the case that blows across the heatsink. I used the Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX, Premium Quiet Fan, 3-Pin (40x10mm, Brown) which is a 6yr warranty high quality fan to keep mine cool and it works great.

  4. I have the LSI 9207-8i and it works great, just be careful lots of counterfits on ebay. My first one I bought new from another seller ended up being a counterfit, so I now prefer oem server pulls. I can confirm legit cards from un: findingdeals on ebay listing: LSI SAS 9207-8i Storage controller - 8 Channel SATA 6Gb/s OEM this is where i got mine and I just looked he still has more. I'm sure you know you will also need SAS SFF-8087 36Pin to 4 SATA 7Pin HDD forward breakout cables.

  5. I am using pfsense with a vpn. Can I do custom : br0 and assign an ip on the duckdns docker so I can add a pfsesne lan rule to bypass vpn and use my wan address? On bridge It updates my vpn address to duckdns.org. I tried this and I get something went wrong in duckdns container log and it does not show ip in PORT MAPPINGS (APP TO HOST) under dockers in Unraid. So I probably answered my own question. So how do you bypass vpn when I want to keep Unraid and everything else behind the vpn?

  6. linuxserver.io I am having this same problem only with your dockers. Keeps saying there is update on all the linuxserver.io dockers I have and when I update 0kb pulled because they are up to date. It keeps doing it over and over. I tried to see if I could install a linuxserver.io docker that I don't have installed already and installs just fine. Dockers from others are not having this problem. What could be causing this?

    Script works perfectly fine.  What you were doing though is copying and pasting the script via the forum which occasionally adds some hidden characters, resulting in a broken script.

    Changing the plugin to remove the unprintable characters when pasting into the edit box

    Thanks, yes I am guilty of copying & pasting. It's the easiest & quickest way to add a script. Did not know that would break it, but now I know. I would have copied to folder but my smb sharing has not been working in unraid for a while now. The only way I can transfer to unraid at this point is through usb drive through unassigned devices & krusader.

    Record Disk Assignments

    Records your current disk assignments to a file on the flash drive called DISK_ASSIGNMENTS.txt (config folder).  Not necessary if you run CA's appdata backup as that's done automatically

    #!/usr/bin/php
    <?PHP
      $availableDisks = parse_ini_file("/var/local/emhttp/disks.ini",true);
      $txt .= "Disk Assignments as of ".date(DATE_RSS)."\r\n";
      foreach ($availableDisks as $Disk) {
        $txt .= "Disk: ".$Disk['name']."  Device: ".$Disk['id']."  Status: ".$Disk['status']."\r\n";
      }
      file_put_contents("/boot/config/DISK_ASSIGNMENTS.txt",$txt);
      echo "Disk assignments have been saved to the flashdrive (config/DISK_ASSIGNMENTS.txt)\n";
    ?>

    record_disk_assignments.zip 891 B · 57 downloads

    No longer works

  9. I followed the above instructions but it does not work for me.

    I get error: /tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/plex nvdec enable/script: line 8: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
    /tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/plex nvdec enable/script: line 8: `'

    Can not edit script after either, won't open.

    I have deleted and tried 3 times now with same result.

    What am I doing wrong?

    I've submitted a case to LSI/Broadcom with the serial number of the card I purchased via eBay from a Chinese retailer. The SAS9201-16i card arrived in a plain brown box in a new anti-static bag, but no official LSI documentation. While the card may be fine, I'm experiencing lots of UDMA CRC errors and occasional other issues that  have me concerned that it's genuine. I have a thread in the General support forum regarding these issues:

    Anyone have any recommended procedure for verifying if the card is genuine, or better, a testing procedure to help verify if the card is working properly and not part or all of the cause of my numerous errors in unRAID. I do believe my Norcotek RPC-4220 may also be part of the issue, but validating the LSI card will help take it out of the equation.

    Thanks for any assistance!

    I just went through the same thing as you. I see tan/brown cap/diode/resistor and came in generic brown box just like my 9207-8i I purchased off ebay US seller that ended up being chinese counterfit. I was getting constant UDMA CRC errors. Most likely it is a chinese counterfeit. I purchased a used server pull from seller that 100% guaranteed genuine and it has been working perfect with no errors or problems. I also contacted Broadcom Avago.
