  1. Just want to report that my Ryzen machine has been up for a week now since the update, with no issues. In fact, VM performance has drastically improved. Before, I was getting stuttering when playing videos in any Windows browser but Edge. Now that I've updated, that no longer happens. 😀
  2. Thanks. Updated it from my phone while lying on my couch, drinking a beer. All seems well so far.
  3. The software is apparently usable, but I haven't managed to set it up with any success personally. I, too, would be very happy to see it packaged with UnRaid — or at least available to integrate with a good tutorial — in the near future.
  4. I'd like to upgrade from 6.4.1, but I want to be able to go back if something's wrong. My unraid USB disk is 16GB. If I copy all the files into a 'backup' directory, will reverting be as easy as copying them back into the original location?
  5. Thanks Johnnie.black. It ended up being the sata power cable for the drive. I know it's a very late response, but just wanted to say thanks for the help!
  6. Happened again. Here's a syslog with a ton of errors. Someone, please help me get past this. syslog.txt
  7. Hi, I've just installed a new Samsung evo 500gb SSD as a passthrough to my Windows VM. It works, but during prolonged use, it fails. The VM suddenly becomes unable to access the drive, and I need to reboot Unraid up to 3 times to make the device responsive again. I doubt it's a hardware problem because the disk is new. Also, previously, I was using an OCZ 120gb SSD, which was set up differently (part of the array, but independent of the spinning disks) and experienced similar errors (though, in that case, it locked up the entire machine). When no SSDs are present in the system, everything works perfectly. All observations point to there being a problem specifically with SSDs, and I'd really like some help fixing it. Today's syslog is attached. Can someone give me some insight? The device is sdc. syslog.txt
  8. My Ryzen machine runs two VMs at any given time — Windows 10 and Ubuntu. If I let the computer idle while nothing is running in Windows, the entire system locks up and all you can do is a hard reset. But if I keep Blender open in Windows, the system is rock solid with zero problems. Windows power management settings are all switched off.
  9. I just bought a new SSD for my unraid machine. My intention is to use it as a dedicated disk for games, which will be used exclusively by my Windows 10 VM. Obviously, it's possible to pass-through the hardware to the VM. I don't necessarily have any objections to doing this. But is there any real advantage of doing this vs. just putting a virtual disk file on the SSD? The latter option would have the benefit of access to the SSD from multiple VMs, which I'll gladly take if there's no truly noticeable difference in performance. Please advise. Thanks
  10. Hey UNRAIDers. I have two VMs running concurrently all the time: Windows for gaming, and Ubuntu for everything else. Both have a dedicated nvidia graphics card, and these are fine for sending audio to my TV. But my computer is connected to my home theater (processor, multiple amps, etc.) via 7.1 optical. And, while I could use two sound cards and run separate cables, I'd rather everything be routed through PulseAudio in Ubuntu. This would be ideal. Has anyone had success doing something like this? My thought was to run gmediarender in Ubuntu and stream to it via "Stream What You Hear" in Windows. But this doesn't seem to work. I can stream to gmediarender just fine from my Android phone, but I get nothing from Windows. Thanks!
