  1. Cheers! Thanks for the pointer to Dynamic File Manager for 6.10.x. It worked great.
  2. I want to completely delete all my Time Machine shares on Unraid and start Fromm scratch, but I cannot find a way to do this. There is no Delete button or function when I go into the disk setup through Shares on the Unraid interface.
  3. Hi, I'm currently using the Unifi docker by pducharme to manage my APs. I want to change over to this docker. I currently autobackup the configuration of my controller from within the Unifi controller application itself. If I do switch, will I be able to restore the working config from my previous docker to this one using the .unf file I download from the controller? The version of Unifi I run is 5.6.37.
  4. Understand. But I guess I'll have to reinstall because I don't have a backup of the XML file to understand what the original files were called. If I want to increase memory size of the VM without risking breakage like this, what is the best way to change the value? Manual editing of the XML? The default size is 4GB and I want 8GB.
  5. Hi, I used spaceinvader's Macinabox to install a VM on my Unraid server that runs MacOS 10.11 "El Capitan". I installed using a Time Machine restoration to the OS vdisk. That booted properly and ran correctly first time. I performed a controlled shutdown and, using the Edit feature of the VM, changed memory from 4096MB to 8192MB. Upon restarting the VM, the system fails to boot. It flips back and forth between showing the Clover bootloader and the initial Apple logo. No progress bar is displayed and control returns to Clover after a few seconds. I attempted to restore the configuration back to 4096MB but the same problem occurs. Can someone please help me to restore operation of this machine? <!-- WARNING: THIS IS AN AUTO-GENERATED FILE. CHANGES TO IT ARE LIKELY TO BE OVERWRITTEN AND LOST. 6. Can ddclient be used to update OpenDNS dynamic IPs, as a replacement for the programs recommended by OpenDNS to perform that task? See https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/articles/227987787 for an explanation of what I'm trying to accomplish.
  7. Hi, I'm running an Unraid v6.7.1 server with a 2-disk redundant cache pool, using standard Seagate Barracuda HDDs. I want to replace both disks in the pool with Western Digital SSDs of the same size as the old HDDs. Will it be possible for me to replace both disks at the same time in one operation, following the FAQ procedure for cache disk replacement? Or must I do one at a time?
  8. Hi, I have built an Unraid NAS using an Asus F2A85 with the following config: - AMD A8-5500 @3.2GHz - 16GB DDR3 non-ECC RAM - LSISAS9201 PCIe disk controller - Intel 82875 PCIe Ethernet controller - 6 x 2GB (4 data + 2 parity) + 2 x 0.5GB (cache) Presently I measured the actual power consumption and the system is drawing a constant 100W of power. I've been unsuccessful in reducing that power drain; I've tried a few BIOS options and Unraid plugins and setting changes but with no success. The AMD A8 is specified TPD=95W which I feel is part of my problem. I'm not skilled in configuring PCs so keep that in mind. I recently purchased a Supermicro X8SIL-F motherboard with the following config: - Intel Xenon x3440 @2.53GHz - 16 GB DDR3 ECC RAM My hope is to swap the two motherboards, while keeping the disks and peripherals intact where possible. The attraction for me to do this work is to move to a server based system with ECC memory for greater reliability using a processor with more threads for VMs. One other goal I have is to reduce the power consumption of the system to the lowest possible value, as I would like to have 24/7 availability. Measuring the power consumption of this bare system, I'm getting 72W drawn. The TPD of the Xenon is the same as the AMD. Being unfamiliar with configuring for power reduction, I know I will struggle to configure the system in a way to get power draw to the minimum. What would be a reasonable expectation for power consumption from this system? What are the things I have to do?
  9. How do I now take my Unraid out of legacy mode? Or is it automatically out now that the feed is working again?
  10. Hi This is more of a presales question rather than a support question. I want a backup sync solution that would copy files on the array to an unassigned device when inserted into the Unraid server. I have only a little data (6TB) so a 6TB - 10TB hard drive would contain the backup. I envision inserting the drive, mounting it, having Seafile copy all the required files, and then unmounting and removing the backup disk. Would Seafile be a good choice for such a backup solution?
  11. So, what I did was: - uninstalled the Plex docker - stopped the array - move the old plex directory out of the way - restarted the array - reinstalled the plex docker and included at least one media directory, pictures. Also made sure /config was mapped to /mnt/cache/appdata/plex as suggested Opening the Webgui link resulted in sucess. Plex is back up. Thanks for the help. I am much wiser about operating Plex now.
  12. Thanks Squid. I did read above and I interpreted the discussion as affecting a minority of users not being me. It was coincidence then that my work on my Unraid occurred exactly at the same time as this app server problem. I'm new to Unraid and am still in the "getting familiar with all this" mode.
  13. Hi, I'm suddenly having connection problems with my CA plugin on my Unraid server. When I click on the Apps menu button, the system hangs for a minute or so before producing the following error: Download of appfeed failed. Community Applications requires your server to have internet access. The most common cause of this failure is a failure to resolve DNS addresses. You can try and reset your modem and router to fix this issue, or set static DNS addresses (Settings - Network Settings) of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and try again. Alternatively, there is also a chance that the server handling the application feed is temporarily down. Switching CA to operate in Legacy Mode might temporarily allow you to still utilize CA. Last JSON error Recorded: JSON Error: Syntax error Docker FAQ Community Applications Version: 2018.03.30a The server is connected to the Internet and can access its resources, so the first suggestion is not the cause of the problem. It might the access to the application servers but I can't imagine this being the case. I've already tried a deinstall / reinstall but same symptoms are occuring. How should I go about debugging this problem?

  16. Hi, I'm trying to debug a startup problem with Linuxserver.io's Plex docker on my Unraid v6.5.0 server. I've installed the ap and configured it under Docker page. I believe this situation is related to some servicing that I did on the Unraid server. Plex was installed and operating for a few days before. I fooled with the cache drive and things went a bit wrong when I tried to remove the cache. I needed to follow the instructions on how to change the cache drive, meanwhile I deinstalled the Plex docker from the system. I since corrected the cache problem and now with a clean reinstall I'm getting this problem.
  17. When I removed the devices, I stopped the array and then unconfigured them from the cache assignment on the main page. Then I started the array, and physically removed the drives from their hot-swap bays. Shutdown and startup were cleanly done in both cases. It's just that the /dev/sdXX devices remained. I believe that they remained known to the OS because they were both used drives with SMART problems. I believe the I/O problems with the drive prevented the OS from cleaning getting rid of them because of pending I/O or something else related to hardware. In any case, once the system was rebooted, the situation returned to normal. I would call this an unusual situation and not related to any defect in Unraid.
  18. You were correct; they disappeared after a reboot. The reboot was not clean though and ended in a trace. Hit reset and the system came back with a dirty array that needed parity checked. Hmmm, wonder what's up with that. In any case, thanks for clearing up my question.
  19. Hi, I just want to get confirmation of a phenomenon I noticed today. As I am trialing Unraid, I'm practicing assigning and unassigning devices to various functions within the system. Presently I've assigned 2 parity drives and 3 data drives. I assigned 2 cache drives as an experiment and removed them after the experiment. While they were in the system, they assumed drive designations sdg and sdh. When I removed the cache and physically the drives, the designations sdg and sdh remain on the Dashboard, but now as unassigned devices instead of cache drives. Fine enough. This brings up my question. I assume now that these drives count against my licensed limits even though they do not physically exist on the system any longer. In other words, I can continue to add drives to functions in the array up to my license limit (12 for Plus) but never remove them. Am I correct?
  20. I'm in the same predicament with a running system on a trial license and needing to swap USBs before purchase. So, if I understand correctly, I just need to do a copy of the current USB to the new USB, plug in the new USB and request another trial license. Once booted, my drives and everything should be OK. Should I follow the USB Preparation steps as outlined on the Unraid wiki against the new USB stick prior to copying?
  21. Thanks for the feedback. I'll continue to experiment with UNRAID v6.5 with my current hardware configuration, meanwhile researching the LSI PCIe SATA offerings. I'm not in a rush at the moment.
  22. Hi, I'm very new to UNRAID and am currently evaluating v6.5 for use at home (in the 30-day evaluation). As you see in my signature, I have an older ASUS MB in a Rosewill rack case with 12 bays. The MB doesn't have enough SATA to support so may bays so I'm contemplating a PCI Express-base card for SATA port expansion. I read the UNRAID wiki and know that LSI cards are recommended. The card I'm contemplating is the Supermicro AOC-SAS2LP-MV8. It's an 8-port JBOD mode only card with 2 x SFF-8087 mini-SAS Internal Connectors that supports SAS or SATA up to 6Gb/s. To anyone's knowledge, is this card compatible with UNRAID v6.5?
