  1. Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, non of the recovery options worked and I've ended up restoring from backups and all is well now 🙂
  2. Here you go. I don't know if it's cause for concern right now, but I have no user shares showing in the share tab. speedy-diagnostics-20201006-1031.zip
  3. I removed a disk but interrupted the balance process and now the disk shows as Unmountable: No file system. Is the data now lost and do I need to take the disk out of cache pool, add it into the unassigned devices and then re add it again as a fresh cache and restore from backups? Or.... is there a way to save the day?
  4. Well, that's really annoying!! Fortunately, I don't have a great urgency to restore the missing files, but I would like to fix this problem in case I do in the future. I've been in touch via chat with Crashplan support and have not told them that I run this as a docker (they seem to think it's running on Ubuntu 20.04 server, so just let it slide). I've sent them my logs and I've had the following reply and am unsure if I can proceed further with them without letting on about the docker. "Looking through the logs I'm seeing a consistent message that the restore I/O pipe is not able to get created. Typically this is indicative of a permissions issue of the Code42/CrashPlan app. There are a couple of more common reasons this may occur that I would like to have you check. Please ensure that when you run the Code42/CrashPlan app you're not running it as an admin (sudo.) The app itself should be run from the user space. Where are you restoring the files to? Have you attempted to restore the files to the Desktop directly? When selecting the file permissions on the restore you will choose "current" instead of "original". When selecting the files for restore be sure to allow the calculation to complete fully before starting the restore. If the calculation does not have time to fully complete then CrashPlan will report incorrect estimates for completion times. Can you provide an example of the file you're looking to download? How large is the file?" I'm not sure if the above info is helpful to the devs @Djoss? FWIW, I get the "Preparing Files" sticking for a long time, whether I try to restore from the cloud or local hdd, whether it's current or original file permissions and it happens on the smallest of config files (600kb). All the while "Preparing Files" is showing, all backups stop.
  5. I've got a problem with restoring files and I've been advised by Code42 that I need to delete my cache. To do this, I need to stop the service first. Going into the command console (Control+Shift+C) and initiating the Shutdown, Stop or Exit commands does not stop the service in its entirety, but rather it restarts it. According to Code42 knowledge base, I can stop the service by going to /usr/local/crashplan/bin and running ./service.sh stop, but there is no such command available in that directory; those present are startCrashPlanEngine.sh, restartLinux.sh, startCrashPlanGUI.sh, Code42Service, restore-tool and vars.sh) and I'm a bit reluctant to run these in the event that I might break something. Any suggestions?
  6. Did you manage to get this set up and running? If so I'd really like to know how you did it.
  7. Thanks for that, I'm back in now. You are a hero I wonder what happened and how come it's not been picked up yet?
  8. I would really like a bit of assistance here. I've been running this docker, without fault for the last 3 months or so. In the last week, when I went to launch it, the web browser would not connect to the page at all. I hadn't made any changes to any configs, so I'm a bit baffled. I looked at the /appdata/dokuwiki/log/php/error.log and was consistently getting following error [02-Aug-2020 08:02:17] ERROR: unable to bind listening socket for address '127.0.0.1:9000': Address in use (98) [02-Aug-2020 08:02:17] ERROR: FPM initialization failed I restarted the app a few times and found that I now get a blank white page (with no errors showing) so I figure the web service part of the docker has gone a bit tits up. Going back to the same error log (/appdata/dokuwiki/log/php/error.log) I note the following now [02-Aug-2020 08:27:59] NOTICE: fpm is running, pid 331 [02-Aug-2020 08:27:59] NOTICE: ready to handle connections I've had a little look around other error logs and found the following error in the /appdata/dokuwiki/log/nginx/error.log 2020/08/06 22:34:08 [error] 350#350: *7 FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'dokuwiki\plugin\config\core\Setting\Setting' not found in /app/dokuwiki/inc/deprecated.php:61 Stack trace: #0 /app/dokuwiki/inc/load.php(38): require_once() #1 /app/dokuwiki/inc/init.php(200): require_once('/app/dokuwiki/i...') #2 /app/dokuwiki/doku.php(36): require_once('/app/dokuwiki/i...') #3 {main} thrown in /app/dokuwiki/inc/deprecated.php on line 61" while reading response header from upstream, client: client.ip, server: _, request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:9000", host: "server.ip:280" There seems to be an entry here every time I start the docker. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm even looking in the right places for the right errors, but would appreciate some pointers to getting this fixed. Tia
  9. Thanks for that. It turns out that the problem was not a fragged USB drive or mobo, but rather a tricky bridge network config on a VM that would stop the system going up properly . As it happened, after a fairly long wait, I was able to ping the Unraid server, but not access the webgui. I was able to access my pfSense VM (hosted on Unraid) which has it's own NICs. After doing a bit of research, I opened terminal and removed the offending VM XML file symlink from /etc/libvirt/qemu/autostart. I then restarted the server and it came up with all webguis working. I have now taken a backup of my flash drive and will revisit Spaceinvader One's video about automating the USB backups going forward.
  10. I recently made some network changes that required a few reboots. Unfortunately, on the last reboot, the server would not come up. When I plugged in a monitor, the initial blue choice screen would not even show up, I was just left with a black screen. Concerned that I had either fragged my flash drive or mobo, I tried other installer USBs in the server (pfSense & Ubuntu) and they both loaded up. I tried the Unraid flash drive in another PC and that loaded up into the blue screen! I ran a scan and repair on the Unraid flash drive and that brought up no errors, but it would still not boot up in the server. Any suggestions what to do next to isolate the problem? I've not got a backup of the flash drive, but it is still readable, so I'm able to copy it's contents on to a new drive if necessary. If the issue is USB drive related, will copying the old files across work?
  11. I deleted the /boot/config/network.cfg file in another PC, put the usb back in my server and tried to boot it up in both UEFI and Legacy and neither worked. I'm beginning to wonder if the USB drive or mobo are failing. Tomorrow I will download a fresh image of Unraid onto a known working USB drive and put that in the server to see if it works. For testing purposes, if I put the current USB drive into a different device and boot it up, will it change the configs on the drive? Have you any other suggestions that I might try?
  12. So, just to clarify, am I ok to remove the usb drive from the server and plug it into an already booted up computer and go in to delete the /boot/config/network.cfg there and then put it back in the server, or will this not work/cause more problems? Will the network.cfg be recreated on boot after deletion? I think IPMI is interfering with boot process on the server and I'm unsure how to circumvent it at this point.
  13. I've plugged a keyboard and monitor in, started the server, got the Supermicro splash screen and then get stuck with a blank screen with a white strip with "DXE --Legacy Boot Start" across the bottom and a cursor in the middle of the screen that doesn't blink or do anything; I think this might be something to do with IPMI, but I'm not sure as it's not something I've dealt with a great deal. I've tried booting up into bios to see my options and confirmed boot order, but when I chose either the UEFI usb card or plain vanilla here, I just get a totally blank screen in the process. Should I remove the usb drive from the server and plug it into an already booted up computer and go in to delete the /boot/config/network.cfg there and then put it back in the server, or will this not work/cause more problems?
  14. Just to clarify, by accessing in local, do you mean plugging in a keyboard and monitor into the Unraid box and booting it up that way?
  15. I've been trying to get a VM on to a different, tagged vlan. The vlan is set up on pfSense and the tagging is done on Unifi APs and switches. I have 2 tagged vlans, 50 and 70, the former carries all my IOT traffic and the latter carries the CCTV traffic. Until I tried to make changes to accommodate an Ubuntu server on the IOT vlan, they both worked without issue since I put them in place a year or so ago. I created tagged vlans in the network section for both 50 and 70, didn't put the ip details in at the bottom of either connection and dhcp defaulted to automatic. I added 2 entries to the routing table below, pressed save and restarted Unraid. It came up fine, I checked that the settings I had made persisted and I started to build the VM using the the IP within the 50 vlan scope (10.16.50.0/24) and the gateway of my LAN (192.168.52.1) in doing so. After it was built, I rebooted Ubuntu. When the Ubuntu came back up, I logged into it using VNC and found that I could not ping out to any device including the chosen gateway. I could not ping it from Unraid and the assigned IP did not show up in the ARP tables in pfSense. I checked the device VM settings and Ubuntu was in br0.50, where I would've expected it to be. I then went back into network settings, down to the vlan section and added 10.16.50.0/24 to the 50 tag and 192.100.0/24 to the 70tag and saved and then lost everything on the browser. I ssh into Unraid and restarted it, hoping that it would come back up ok, it did not. At this point I was able to ssh into the though, so I thought I could fix the issue by editing the /boot/config/network.cfg file, where I first made a copy and then removed all the entries that referred to the vlans. When I restarted Unraid, the box made all the usual noises, but this time, even after a considerable wait, I was unable to ping it, nor ssh into it (but for some reason, it came back up on to the ARP table afer reboot). I'm really struggling with what to do to fix this. All my services are down now and I have no idea what to do next or even how to access the OS if I can't ssh into Unraid, will I need to access the usb stick and make changes to that on my pc? Any pointers greatly received. TIA
  16. I would love step by instructions on both please. This could be very useful for me in understanding how dockers work and could help with other dockers I have too. Does option 2 above involve writing to the etc/fstab file of the docker to make it persistent? Can you please clarify something for me; when I bash into a docker, am I in effect going into the docker that lives in /mnt/user/system/docker/docker.img? Please excuse my ignorance here, as I'm still very much trying to get my head around how dockers/containers work.
  17. I'm trying to personalise this and change the logo from the chef's head and shoulders to something of my own choosing. I assume that I have to bash into the docker and place a .png file somewhere but have no idea where to put it or how big I need to size it and I guess I'll need to change a setting in a config file to use my image, but I don't know where to start with that either. I've not been able to find anything on the github page. Can anyone here help please?
  18. I'm having a problem with auto uploader from my phone. Pictures and files are uploading twice, causing a file upload conflict and each time I have to select which I've I want to keep. What's seems to be happening is that the files are uploading via the domain ([email protected]) and the server IP address ([email protected]). I'm not sure if it's relevent, but I'm using letencrypt reverse proxy. What's the best way to resolve this please?
  19. Did you ever get this fixed? I've got the same problem!
  20. I have several members of my family with accounts on my Unraid box. We all have our individual areas that are private and not accessible to other family members; or so I thought. If another family member accesses the shares in a file manager and tries to look at my folder (\\server\user1), they can not see it's contents (because they have no access in the share settings). If they go through disk1 or disk2 etc(\\server\disk1\user1), they can see and access all the files that are stored on that disk that are under my username and execute/modify them. Now, I've either done a huge mistake when setting up my server, or there is a gaping hole in Unraid's security policies. I hope it's the former and that someone here can tell me what a muppet I've been and show me how to fix it.
  21. I use timemachine to backup a couple of Macs on my network to a share on Unraid. This works flawlessly, but because of my limited scripting skills, I'm struggling to automate the (one way) sync from the share to the external hard drive once it is plugged into the USB port. I currently manually run the two following lines from terminal and the output is satisfactory, albeit a little time consuming rsync -vgloptruc "/mnt/user/TimeMachineShare/Mac1 iMac.sparsebundle" /mnt/disks/TMB1 rsync -vgloptruc "/mnt/user/TimeMachineShare/Mac2.sparsebundle" /mnt/disks/TMB1 Ideally, I would just like to be able to plug the drive in, the above sync runs and then the disk unmounts on completion. At this stage I do not feel that I need to be notified of the completed job, as I'll just see the disk as unmounted in the Main menu. I've looked around here and other places to try to find a solution, but I really don't know where to start. My attempts to copy similar solutions have resulted in the ext hdd not mounting and getting stuck in a loop.
