Hi at all
Since I restarted the nextcloud VM, there is just the following in my browser:
502 Bad Gateway openresty failure
I can't ping the IP of the instance. If I look inside the VM with VNC there is no network configuration available.
At first i thought it has to be a problem with nextcloud. However, it must be due to unraid cause I tried to start the vm from a backup disk.img, but there is the same problem. That's why I think it is aproblem with unraid not with nextcloud.
When I look at the log there is the following. I think the last 3 lines are not ok. But what can I do? I have also the diagnostic file attached.
Would be very nice if someone can help me. This instance runs since 8 months without any problem. Now I can't work anymore...
thank you in advance
greg

Of course nothing you can do about this until you actually have cache.
You have appdata, domains, system shares all on the array and set as cache-no. These will always have open files whenever Docker and VM services are enabled. This will keep array disks spinning, and Dockers / VMs will have performance impacted by slower parity.
Setting these to cache-prefer would get them moved to cache where they belong, except Mover can't move open files. So in addition to changing appdata, domains, system shares to cache-prefer, you have to go to Settings and disable Dockers and VMs then run Mover.
Thanx and sorry for no answer, I did not get any message...
Ok, if I have to stop the VM to run the mover correctly the cache option is not the best option for me. I can't stopp it every night when mover should run.
Is there another option to stop the VM automaticly? Otherwise I would decide against the cache option and let it run as it runs.

Now you have me wondering about how you have appdata, domains, and system shares already configured.
Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread.
If you have some time to look inside the diagnostic.zip it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Are you really running nextcloud in a VM and not as a docker?
Are you asking about the cache setting for the user share, or about which user share needs backup?
Do you mean you don't want the cloud data to stay on cache?
Yes my nextcloud is in running in a VM with all other components (mariadb, onlyoffice, etc.)
I'm asking about the cache settings for the user share, domain share and appdata share. I can choose prefer or yes. What exactly is the difference?
I'm looking for the fast and save solution
-
yes replace 2 of my unused Unassigned HDDs with 2 new SSD's.
Do you mean just the user share of nextcloud (which is mounted in nextcloud VM) or also appdata and domain share?
How to set interval for the mover?

Hello everybody
I have now finished my Unraid Server. It is in a server room in the company behind a Nethserver firewall. Open ports are only 80, 443 and another one for VPN connection.
Specification:
- 128 GB RAM
- 2 x Xeon E5645 CPU
- SuperMicro X8DA3 motherboard
- LAN GigaBit
The following instances run on it:
- nextcloud VM
- NginxProxyManager Docker
- MariaDB Docker
- Wordpress Docker
The following array:
- 2 x 4TB parity
- 2 x 3TB data disk
Backups:
- AppData, UsbData, nextcloud data goes to an unassigned 2TB disk (every Monday)
- nextcloud VM goes to a separate unassigned disk 1.5TB (every night, exept Monday)
Now I have 2 HD slots free for the new 2 Samsung SSD 500 GB.
1. How do I best proceed to configure this? Just shut down the server, take out the 2 old HDs and put the new ones in?
2. Start up and take the 2 new SSDs into the array as cache drives?
The aim is for the nextcloud VM to benefit as much as possible from the SSD speed while taking maximum data security into account.
What share settings do I have to configure?Could someone kindly give me some tips? I'm not really familiar with caching yet.
I appreciate it very much. Thank you.

@bastl This is a good one. Thank you for this.

Thanks for your detailed description. Then I got that right.
I have 128 GB of RAM and of course I would like to distribute these resources sensibly to the VM's and Docker's.greg

Hi there
I am not sure how the settings of RAM in the VM configuration must be set exactly. It has 2 values that I can set. Left: Initial Memory, Right: Max Memory. Well what does that mean exactly?
And can I look somewhere how much RAM a VM is currently using? Like at overview from dockers in advanced view.Thank you for advice.

so I tested the blog a bit and everything runs well and smoothie.
The only part I get a server timeout 504 is when I try to print as pdf. There is a plugin for that.
Can I change some settings somehow?

ones you have your domain up running then start the wp installer,
Ahaa..... you mean over wp.mydomain.com?
Ok. I'll try... Thx

I installed the wp-docker and connected it to a db on the maria-db docker.
In the LAN (i'm outside over VPN) i got Access via http://192.168.2.121:8080 to website and admin site.
In NginxProxyManager I made a subdomain wp.mydomain.com with ssl and forwarded to http://192.168.2.121:8080. Unfortunately I can't access.
That's all I did.

Hi there
I have a fresh installation of wordpress docker. Everything is working inside mit network over http.
As soon as I try to get https access from outside via NginxProxyManager, it doesn't work. Even when I try over http.
Is there something to configurate in the config files from WP?
Thx

Hi all
This is a never ending story.
I tried nearly everything to connect the onlyoffice document server (docker) with my nextcloud (docker) installation.
Nextcloud is running perfect on a unraid server 6.9.0-beta22. But I really can't connect OnlyOffice.
Installed succesfully the document server. Tested from outside over https://onlyoffice.my-domain.com
The sub domain is from Nginx Proxy Manager
Then I edit the service address in settings/onlyoffice to https://onlyoffice.my-domain.com/
But there is just turning around the cyrcle.....
Does anyone know whats going on here?
Thank you for any help in advance.

What were those big problems if I may ask?
there were many performance problems especially with pictures. And the support in the forum is crap.

Hi dunnno
FileRun looks nice but it has many big problems. The main thing is, that just one person makes support. His forum name is Vlad R.
I changed to nextcloud again and it runs since about 4 months without problems.

Hi there
I'm using nextcloud in a docker container and want do run a command inside the container with the plugin user script.
The command:
sudo -u abc php7 /config/www/nextcloud/occ preview:generate-all -vvv
How can I add it in a user script on unraid to run it in the container?
any help is greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to say thanks for the above info, new to unriad/virtio and was keen to test this out, the following worked fine for me
sudo mount -t 9p -o trans=virtio "Unraid Mount tag" /mnt/example
Thanks for that. It works for me aswell.
Does anyone know the correct string in /etc/fstab ?

You could try to play with these settings, to put in the Advanced tab:
proxy_connect_timeout 600; proxy_send_timeout 600; proxy_read_timeout 600; send_timeout 600;
Very cool Djoss
now it works great. Thank you so much.
nice to have people they know such thinks.
wish you a nice weekend.

borg Backup very very slow...
in General Support
Posted
Hi there
I made a borg Backup from my nextcloud instance which runs in a VM to a share in unraid. The nc instance runs on a separate Harddisk. For this about 1.4 TB it needs a time from 220 hours. Writespeed was between 30 to 100 kB/sec. Why is this system so slow?
Attached you will find the diagnostic.zip - maybe anyone can find the problem. I really would appreciate this.
Thanx in advance
Gregor
