  4. Guys. I have setup a user share on unRaid which i can get at through SMB, also though VMware as a NFS data store. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate so have the NFS client installed. If i run the command below then the drive maps, BUT i get access denied when trying to see whats on the drive. What am i doing wrong? mount SERVER NAME:/mnt/user/SHARE NAME *(rw,no_subtree_check,insecure,anonuid=99,anongid=100,all_squash) Thanks in advance
  5. Thanks for the reply. Seem to be working now. I am so used to Raid5 so unRaid is just taking a bit of getting used to. Craig
  6. Chaps. On 4.7 you could add some NFS settings on the share. Where has this gone in 5 beta 13? Cheers Craig
  7. Chaps. I have got my unRaid box up and running and playing with some test data before moving anything i cant afford to lose on it. I have 3 x 500Gb drives in my box, One Parity and two in the Raid. I have created 4 user shares. If i look on Disk 1 i see the shares, if i look on Disk 2 i dont. Any ideas? do i need to enable something?
  8. Guys. Does anyone know where the jumper setting in this case is? I have taken off the back of the case but which jumper setting makes the fan run more quite? http://www.xcase.co.uk/hotswap-stoarge-kit-p/hddkit-xx-500.htm?ID=196&yes=yes Thanks
  9. Yes, you need to run a checkdisk on the flash drive from a windows computer. unless you are starting the array for the very first time, in which case, there will be no super.dat file in existence until you assign drives. Ahh this is more like it. Yes the array has not started yet as i am running pre clear on all my drives. Will see what its like when it starts

  12. Guys. Can i SSH to my unRaid box? Looking to use Putty and WinSCP Cheers Craig
  13. Not 100% true to be fair. many Cisco switches provide DHCP. I troublshoot networks day to day. I start off from the root and work back. In your case i would Check first Phone Line - Router -> XBMC Then Phone Line - Router -> TV Then just for the sake of checking remove the power line adapter out of the situation and see if unRaid then works. Phone Line - Router -> Main PC -> Unraid You really need to work a step at a time until you see what may be the cause. Maybe there is a mis match on the power line adapter. Also you may or may not have changed this but check the speed and duplex setting on the main PC and unraid. It will not be the first time i have seen a PC set to auto and the swith set to 100/1000 Full duplex. Craig
  14. OK , thanks mate. I need to look at it and see if it the right thing.
  15. Hi Guys. I am waiting for my kit to arrive but just wondering if i should go with the Beta from the get go? with each new release of the beta and then the final is it just a case of coping a few files over? If i did go with the beta and then had issues can i roll back to 4.7 with out any major issues? Thanks in advance
  16. Thanks for posting up your solution. I am going try and have a three nic unRaid so your solution i am sure will help with that
  17. Thanks for the reply mate. Do you know what the commands are that i would need? Is anyone on the site running multiple NIC cards?
  18. Guys. Just want to check before i spend money. In my unRaid box i have one standard on board NIC. What i would like to do is add another two NIC cards to the box. What i am planning on doing is using a crossover cable from each of the two NICs in unRaid and plugging each one in to a seperate NIC on each of my two ESX servers. This way i keep the traffic relating to the VM datastore which will be on unRaid off my local network. so before i spend money can unRaid support multiple NIC's The onboard for example will be on 192.168.1.0/24 and the two extra NICS will be on 192.168.2.0/24 Thanks in advance
  19. Thanks for the reply. Everything is now on order. Thanks again
