  1. I’m assuming Ryzen 3000 series will be supported but we won’t know for sure until they actually launch Zen 2 in a couple of months.
  2. Has anyone replicated this? I have a ton of .avi files and I'm looking to use this Nvidia plugin in the near future when I do my build. If it's a reproducible problem and not fixable, then I might have to rethink my build.
  3. Both the 9211-8i and the cables you picked looked good. The seller for the HBA card has a perfect rating and lots of reviews. Looks legit to me. The cables are very similar to the ones I have. Just make sure you don’t bend them too much when using them. They are a little brittle and can break. As long as you’re not too forceful with them and doing crazy bends, they should work well.
  4. Here is a good list with some explanations about whether a model will need to be flashed or not: https://wiki.unraid.net/Hardware_Compatibility This is the one I bought: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-LSI-6Gbps-SAS-HBA-LSI-9211-8i-P20-IT-Mode-ZFS-FreeNAS-unRAID-low-profile/163558361429?hash=item2614d68955:g:I08AAOSwY7lcb1sJ:sc:USPSPriorityMailSmallFlatRateBox!45230!US!-1 This seller is rock solid and it’s worth the price for someone else to do the flashing if you don’t feel confident. Also, you’ll need some forward breakout cables as well. These are of really good quality and worth not skimping on: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B012BPLYJC/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  5. https://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=X470D4U#Specifications mATX Comes with: Dual Intel NIC ECC Ram support Onboard Graphics (!!!!!!) 6 x 6 Gbp/s SATA ports (plus an additional 2 with a controller...kind of blows but I wonder if you could flash it) IPMI Hopefully this actually sees the consumer market. It might have me switch from Team Blue to Team Red. If it comes out in a full ATX, I’ll buy it in a heartbeat. EDIT 4/4/19: It looks like all 8 SATA ports will be available to be used with UnRAID because the other 2 ports are controlled by an Asmedia 1061 controller, which is compatible with UnRAID.
  6. Wait...you got NVDEC to work with Plex? That's awesome. I had no idea you could get hardware decoding AND encoding with a Plex docker container. Any explicit instructions on how to set that up or know where I could find them?
  7. I’m getting ready to setup a reverse proxy for my Tautulli and Ombi containers but I wanted to see where I should buy my domain first. I know it’s possible to just use DuckDNS as a solution but I wanted a cheap domain that my parents would remember. I was thinking under $5 for the year. I’m going to follow spaceinvader one’s guide on YouTube so if anyone has any advice, I’d greatly appreciate that as well.
  8. Fair enough. Thanks once again for the assistance. I’m like a full week away from getting fully operational, and I’m just worried something is going to go horribly wrong. I just want unRAID to work for me so bad.
  9. Thanks! It scared me this morning. Is there any possibility that in the future they change the wording? It’s not that big of a deal but seeing “error” shouldn’t be part of any normal procedure.
  10. I just got started and I’m not sure if I did something wrong. I spent 50 hours preclearing my 10TB drive, and all signs pointed to it passing just fine. I then stopped the array with my 2 x 8TB drives (not protected), put my 10TB drive as Parity, started the array, and was immediately confronted with two messages (below). Did I do something wrong is or is there something wrong with the disk? Once seeing this, I stopped the Parity sync and restarted it. On the restart, I didn’t get any errors or any warnings at all. Was this normal or just a freak occurrence? I’m sure it’s just the wordingthat threw me off. Seeing “disk error” freaked me out.
  11. I've actually been searching for relatively large capacity cases with some hot swap abilities. This is what I've narrowed my list down to for my build I plan do late this year or early 2020. Fractal Design Define R5 => 2 x 5.25", 8 x 3.5", 2 x 2.5" - Personally, this is my favorite so far. I like that you put the drives in on the opposite side you put the SATA power and data cables. Although you have to open the other side, you have less chance of knocking a power or data cable loose from another drive. Most 2 x 5.25" cages will work and I have a ICY DOCK MB153SP-B that will go perfect to give me a possible 11 x 3.5" drives. Antec P9 Window => 3 x 5.25", 8 x 3.5", 2 x 2.5" - Decent case that is a little old but pretty darn cheap if you can find them on eBay. The 3 x 5.25" cage would be perfect to get an additional 4 or 5 3.5" drives. SilverStone CS380 => 2 x 5.25", 8 x 3.5", 0 x 2.5" - Has 8 hot swap spots built directly into the case which is pretty cool. I don't like that you have to mod it to get decent cooling and there are no designated spots for 2.5" SSD's. I guess you could tape some above the hard drive cage but yeah, pretty limited. Corsair 500R => 4 x 5.25", 6 x 3.5", 0 x 2.5" - Decent room to add a 4 or 5 additional 3.5" drives with a large 3 x 5.25" cage and I could add an additional 4 x 2.5" drives with my ICY DOCK MB994SP-4SB-1 which only takes up 1 x 5.25" bay. Phanteks Enthoo Luxe => 3 x 5.25", 6 x 3.5", 2 x 2.5" - Appears to be a decent case but I haven't researched it a whole lot SilverStone Raven RV03B-W => 7 x 5.25", naturally 6 x 3.5" that take up 6 of those 7 x 5.25" bays but also 4 x 3.5" behind motherboard, 2 x 2.5" - This is probably my second favorite case and it's probably the most different out of any of them. Lots of airflow with a tremendous amount of opportunity to add several hot swap cages but also nice that it can do 10 x 3.5" naturally without any other hardware. I'm not 100% if airflow would be okay with a 120mm fan on the side panel but it looks like it would be enough. This one isn't pretty but it's got a ton of character. Hope that helps. I can only speak for ICY DOCK cages but I've really enjoyed them so far.
  12. Awesome! Thanks for the quick response! I probably won't preclear the 8TB drives since they've been tested a couple of time with extended SMART tests and have been in constant use for about 6 months. The 3 other 10TB drives I have are brand new but have already passed extended SMART tests. I'll probably do a preclear on them if time allows just to be sure. Looks like I'll add the cache drives when I get done with setting up the 8TB drives and wait to do docker containers till after they're added. I can't wait to start setting everything up here later this week!
  13. I'm planning on moving to unRAID next week. I've been waiting a long time to get everything ready for my move from Windows 10. I have several questions that would be awesome if they could get answered. 1. I have 2 x 8TB EMAZ drives that will be my initial drives in the array. Should I install the Preclear plugin before starting the array for the first time so I can do a Preclear before they go in? Or will just the formatting process be enough? 2. In addition to the 2 x 8TB drives, I have a 10TB EMAZ drive that I'll be using as my parity drive. Should I add the parity drive right away with the initial 8TB drives, Preclear it after the 8TB drives are installed, or just wait to add it until I move most of my data to the 8TB array from my external hard drive? 3. Should I add my 2 SSD's as cache drives right away when I do the 8TB drives? Spaceinvader One's videos have been very helpful but the order in which to do certain things when first setting it up has me a little confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
