still dead

I have been trying to talk to some people at the vmware community, and they are genereally of the idea that when it is passthroughed to the vm, then esxi has nothing more to do with it. And saying maybe i need some driver for linux. I found this: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_42b6aa58956a438aa85bd73d0f#tab3 but it asks for rpm to install, and i dont know if that is possible in unraid. am i on the right track here ?

little update. i tried to add append mpt3sas.msix_disable=1 as it says in but it did not help. Also tried to update esxi to 6.7, also did not help. also i am not sure if i matters but vsphere says something about the guest os being wrong

I searched for p420 and nothing came up. Greetings everyone! So i have an HP DL380p gen 8 server, with a p420i that is configured for HBA/IT-mode. I have been running this for a while now with unraid running as bare metal, and it has been running fine. Sure it took some configuring to make it work, like changing to hba mode, installing hpsahba plugin and so to make it work. Anyways, i am pretty familiar with vmware esxi, and wanted to run it on the bare metal, as i got my hands on a nvidia grid k2 card that i have installed in the server to use with vm's that has to run on esxi 6.5. The short version is when i run unraid on esxi, add the unraid usb to the vm, and passthrough the pci devices that is needed like the p420i etc, i get the array controller show up under system devices, but no disks. When i boot straight into the same usb and run unraid bare metal, then there is no problem. Does anyone have any idea why this happens ? I have tried to boot via PLOP and that gives the same result. Update!, It turned out that i needed to update to esxi 6.7 and even after i had done that it still did not work, but it was because i had forgotten to upgrade the esxi compatibility to 6.7u2 aswell. I am missing something, as i have tried to add the bridgenetwork to the allowed peers, but then i cant reach my dockers on those ips locally anymore. I am trying to have my dockers, or the whole unraid server route all traffic to the internet through my vpn, but still be able to access all of my unraid server and its dockers as normally via lan. Where am i going wrong ? BR Apil

Hey everyone. So i am trying to get the Dynamix Wireguard Plugin to work, to have my unraid server only communicate internet traffic through my vpn. I got everything work with importing the config, and connection is being created., but maybe a little too well. Because when it is up and connected, then i cannot reach the unraid server anymore via LAN, but ALL traffics seems to go through the VPN. I am looking for an option to ignore my lan and input a lan subnet somewhere, but cant figure it out. Anyone able to help ?

HI! First of all thanks for reading my post! I am a new user to unraid, and bought a HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 with 12 x 3.5 bays. Currently with 8 x WDC_WD30EFRX-68E Disks. This comes with a HP Smart Array P420i raid card that i changed to HBA Mode. All drives are detected but the problem is that i am not getting any data about temp and smart. I tried changing the Default SMART controller type to HP cciss and have rebooted the server, but does not seem to make any difference. Anyone know how i can fix this ? Hope you have a great day! Best regards Apil Update: I made some progress, and can now see Smart Data under each disk. I did this by intalling the plugin "hpsahba" from the CA apps, and then setting Default SMART controller type to SAT. Though i do not get Tempeture readings still Update again! So i see that the Attribute of 194, Temperature celsius is there, but for some reason it still does not show on the Dashboard/Main page. Wierd.
