  1. I have this printer: https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Shipping-PEDOOLO-Compatible-Chromebook/dp/B0C3V66NNK/ref=sr_1_4?c=ts&keywords=Desktop%2BLabel%2BPrinters&qid=1702994441&s=office-electronics&sr=1-4&ts_id=8553181011&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18630bbb-fcbb-42f8-9767-857e17e03685&th=1 I was hoping to connect it to my unraid server to print from any device or machine on the network. Although the usb instructions seem vague or I'm just missing them. Can anyone provide some guidance?
  2. Hello All! Bought this card and a switch with sfp+ ports. I also bought a couple of sfp+ transceivers. I can see the card in unraid but it won't let me configure it. It's in ethernet mode and there are link lights on both sides of the fiber link. At a loss for how to move forward here. I also flashed it to the latest firmware and that seemed to go fine. Suggestions?
  3. I can't access the webui for unbalance. When I click the link to access the web gui it redirects to 10.0.0.20:6238 and I get an error from chrome: 10.0.0.20 normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Chrome tried to connect to 10.0.0.20 this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be 10.0.0.20, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged. You cannot visit 10.0.0.20 right now because the website sent scrambled credentials that Chrome cannot process. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later. Normally you can just go on anyways, but now it won't let me do anything with it. Tried safari too and it asked for a login, tried my unraid login and it didn't work. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!
  4. I've got an issue with a hotswap drive that I've mounted to my unraid. I want to back up some file to a cold storage drive. I formatted the drive as exfat in windows and can mount it in unraid and copy files to it over the smb share. However, I want to use mc to copy files on the fileserver itself. The problem is the folders are all owned by root, so I cant copy files to it. The error I get is: I can cp files with the command line. Just think its weird that mc can't do it.
  5. I'm running pfsense as a vm and passing in an intel network card. The network card is Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) Its a 2 port card and each port shows up as its own iommu group. I am binding those at bootup and it's all working great. When I make changes to my storage array, I have to take it down, and obviously the vms have to come down. The issue is when I start it back up and boot the vms, the pfsense vm doesn't see both ports of the network card for some reason. It sees 1 port and my on board network cards. I have to manually reboot unraid for it to see both intel ports and not run the reassign ports function. Is there something I can do to fix this? While it's not a huge issue, if I decide to make a change during the day, I work from home, the family doesn't love the extended down time. Also is there a way to make the pcie network card available to the vm and unraid? I'm currently running 2 network cables to my switch from the unraid server, one for the internet and one for unraid. I'd like to have it in one cable and at some point, I'm going to upgrade that to a 10gb link. Thanks!
  6. I've used just desktop drives till now but this week I decided to start using unRAID more seriously. I bought a pro license and have been upgrading drives and looking in to upgrading the CPU. I bought a wd red to use as a parity drive and am upgrading the others as well. Added some more cache and etc. Anyways, I'm at almost 36hrs of this preclear and it looks like it's going to be another 36 or so. Is that normal? ############################################################################################################################ # # # unRAID Server Preclear of disk VDGTR4RK # # Cycle 1 of 1, partition start on sector 64. # # # # # # Step 1 of 6 - Pre-read verification: [14:33:36 @ 152 MB/s] SUCCESS # # Step 2 of 6 - Erasing the disk: [14:03:00 @ 158 MB/s] SUCCESS # # Step 3 of 6 - Zeroing in progress: (68% Done) # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # ** Time elapsed: 8:22:29 | Write speed: 152 MB/s | Average speed: 182 MB/s # # # ############################################################################################################################ # Cycle elapsed time: 36:59:08 | Total elapsed time: 36:59:08 # ############################################################################################################################ ############################################################################################################################ # # # S.M.A.R.T. 7. So I've had an unraid build for going on 4 years now. During that time it's went through different iterations of cpu/mb starting with an atom system and currently its on a i3 8100 / C246M-WU4-CF with 16GB of DDR4 Corsair Ram. I'm starting to use it more and more and here recently I installed an intel 2port NIC and started running my pfsense on it. Works great. We also use plex for our house, some family properties and my daughters apartment a few thousand miles from here. I'm noticing that the cpu usage on this chip is hitting 100% during peak usage and I know that's transcoding and just overall usage. I'm trying to debate upgrading the mb and cpu to a newer version but I don't want to over do it. I use the fileserver for my business and I can write an upgrade off but I'm wondering if I should just try to get a few more years out of this mobo and just upgrade the chip. If so, what chip should I go with? Of note, I am selling off an i9-10850k Z590 build with 64gb of ram, so I *could* use that but it really feels like overkill.
