  1. There's no Apply. (It's not available)
  2. I'm trying to add a secondary IP address to unRAID so hypervisors can access it from that IP (and thus move the noise to another VLAN) but I keep trying to set it up and it just won't stick. Whatever I try, when I click on DONE, I'm taken immediately back to the previous page (Settings) and changes are lost. I searched the documentation but the section pertaining to this is beyond vague, I mean… Seriously?! Anyway, thanks !
  3. Nothing seemed to work except wiping out the server and starting over. Strangely data on the array was not lost, not only that, it couldn't be made lost (erased) even after using the New Config feature in the Tools area. I needed to wipe the disks because I wanted container settings gone but SSHing in and deleting the appropriate directories (/mnt/user/appdata/* then the parent /mnt/user/appdata) did the trick.
  4. Thanks for answering, I had forgotten where this was. I did take a look and didn't catch anything obvious though. What I do see when I try to join the domain is that it apparently succeeds: Every time the same three messages appear. I believe the sshd in red, it is that it kills the SSH server to update its settings for domain users, I'm not sure how to set it up to test though. I'm using it as confirmation that something did happen. Lastly, I just updated to 6.8.0 and disabled NetBIOS straight away but it didn't help. These last two screenshots are on 6.8.0. Thanks once more. hyperserver4-diagnostics-20191210-1756.zip
  5. I've been trying to access containers but pretty much anything I install is unavailable. I've tried setting the network as bridge and also have tried giving them their own IP address but no matter the method I get the same result in all browsers: The containers already deployed continue to work and continue to connect to the Internet to do their stuff where applies. All can be updated. Furthermore, unRAID cannot join the AD domain anymore. Just today I joined a computer to it and it worked just fine. It pulled everything from the domain as it had. I SSHed in to unRAID to try to diagnose using the few little commands I know but I couldn't do DNS queries from unRAID because it seems not to have the tools installed so I went for second best and I pinged the domain controllers--it went fine too: For the moment SMB doesn't work because of the domain thing. I'm only using unRAID for the easy Docker deployment and the containers I need the most are working fine so I'm not too concerned about it, but, not being able to deploy more containers --or deploy them but not being able to access them I should say-- and not being able to use SMB, the most universally accepted protocol, sort of negates the need for unRAID. How can I regain access to containers (or rejoin the domain)? Thanks !
  6. After switching the disks to a new system I was pleasantly surprised indeed it came straight back up, I had to only change the network settings for the LACP bond. I was going to report a few days later everything went OK but the system crashed yet again. Because of the processor core count going down from 16 (hyperthreaded though) to 4 (real, non-hyperthreaded) it was easier to see the processor was busier I digged a little and found it to be syncthing. I killed the container and rebooted the server and it went without crashes a little further. It was now very obvious it's not a physical problem so I moved the disks back to the 16-core server with syncthing turned off and it lasted way longer and technically it didn't crash this time but it did stop responding overnight (I play old TV series to help me sleep; hardcore insomniac). I pushed the power button on the server as soon as I sit up (I slept in the server room floor for testing) and it shut down correctly, move the disks on last time to the 4-core and installed Windows Server 2019 on the 16-core server to move the data back to it preserving DHCP/DNS-vs-MAC and rack placement/labeling. Moved the data at about 2Gbps on spinning disks which was rather impressive because moving the data to unRAID was insanely slow, I assume because of parity but Storage Spaces in Windows Server also does parity calculations and it was ready while I showered and blow-dried my hair. Once in Windows, I found out that all of the software I used in containers was available for it and I got it all including syncthing and waited it out for crashes and there have been none. I hate Windows but gotta give credit where it's due, Windows is very hard to crash and as long as it doesn't connect to the internet to autof_ck itself up it's a very stable, very resilient OS. Also, if it's not connected, there's no worries about security. That doesn't mean it's not protected, it's domain-joined so all security is automatically applied plus a few tricks to hinder telemetry and Windows Update right from within itself and Active Directory is the one good product Microsoft produces–even if it's a ripoff like the rest of them. Now for the bad, because I was on the bad server during the trial, I blamed the crashes on the server hardware plus a combination of factors, like power outages that occur every year around August because of the weather and restructuring of the data from different servers while keeping the hypervisors running (from iSCSI) and learning how to use unRAID. On the first days it had way more containers and ran for up to 15 days without crashing too, so that might not be it either. I think the first logs still apply. I'm leaving unRAID for now to use something stable but since I now have a license I might give it another go in the future. I hope this helps developers or something. Anyway... See you!
  7. Thanks you both so much for your help. I had been postponing adding disks and complexity to the system and it seems it worked for the best. I only have containers in it, actually they're the main reason I'm using (and like) unRAID so much, it's a great file management and sorting tool. Assignment should be easy as I was still only working on 1 disk (plus 1 parity). Might be a good time to dust things off; the server room is a tiny closed air-conditioned (ductless) room but for some reason the servers still manage to get a lot of dust trapped in them. It's annoying but whatchugon'do. Thanks again !
  8. My server's been crashing every few days; out of nowhere it becomes unresponsive and I need to login to the management interface to hard reset it or go over there and push the power button until it goes power down. Pushing the power button shortly though, makes the server beep hinting the unRAID's responsive enough to initiate shutdown but it doesn't complete it. I got videos of it for the first time now. 2.mp4 6.mp4 Sorry about the angle, it's a tight space. Anyway, I think the server itself is failing, have been for a while. Reason I replaced it with a new one some time ago and I installed unRAID on it to see how it fared. Not good it seems. I have another spare computer where I can move the disks to but it's a very different system: single CPU, non-hyperthreaded, non-ECC, non-Xeon family but still an Intel processor (Core i) and still with enough space (SATA ports) for the simple disk (1+1) setup I have on this one. Could I move the disks from one server to another without rebuilding the array? If so, how's it done? I'm guessing taking the array offline and gracefully shutting it down to begin with but I don't know if it's going to be able to be imported. Any help is greatly appreciated !
  9. Slightly different color profile: "True" black:
  10. Well, this is embarrassing… 🙄 I just restarted the server using this little button: …and I got the list of the containers back, I went to the Docker section and got: Yeah…my bad. 🤤😝 It just needed a simple restart. It triggered parity check, which says it will complete in two days but I got my containers back! ❤️ I can now order new disks and take this server into "production". Thanks anyway !
  11. This is the Docker info I found in it: ./logs/docker.txt ./config/docker.cfg Thanks for answering. hyperserver4-diagnostics-20190905-2248.zip
  12. After disabling and re-enabling Docker in the settings to try to get it back online the the log it read: What's using that? I wasn't even aware of that location. I'm not Docker-savvy...like at all. The server stopped responding a couple of day ago and I had to hard reset it, there was a huge BT transfer going on, the client running on my computer downloading to the networked storage; just right now I kept noticing after trying to restart it quickly failed and the BitTorrent client showed a permissions message so over SSH I did "chmod -vfR 777 ." in the root of the affected directory and the client continued downloading, however, that was a permissions denied thing, not file in-use. Is it related? Should I try to manually set right the permissions? If so, what are the proper permissions? Oh BTW, the server was running on trial still, so naturally at restart it wouldn't come back, I got a license but got a little busy and it took me like a day or two to actually put it in and I haven't restarted the server since because the parity check was still running. Thanks for your help !
  13. Yeah, I know... I had set up a controller before and because I forgot all about the moons thing json config I just deleted it because I wouldn't know what do to with it anyway. I'm gonna start over to retrain myself, I'm trying to set up a bridge first but I'm forgetting something that I can't get DHCP to pass through--I know it's advised against but gives me a guarantee that the bridge is working correctly. unRAID's been killing it these past couple of weeks with 1-click solutions for things that were in their own VMs before, I thought this might be one of them. Thanks for clearing it up, though!
  14. Does this join the ZeroTier network as a client, bridge or controller? (leaving the default config of the container)
  15. For my unRAID I tried designing something generic just to make the black menu bar transition a little less harsh with a tiny very quick gradient but it wasn't quite there. So I played with alignment and got a little better but I'm not a real designer so it came up a little tacky and I sort of forgot about the unRAID logo so the colors clash. Still, I had a fun time with it and made an unbranded (as in not customized to myself) to share. It's just three wave-looking objects superimposed with a little whatchuwhattachu applied. These are my attempts: In the bottom one the gradient is barely visible but it breaks the harsh line when the banner meets with the menu bar, to disguise it a bit more it's also purposely misaligned; bigger from one side and it isn't true black either, I picked the color from the menu bar. In the end I chose the center one though: White-label: unBRANDED: ...and the original if you happen to like it. unraid-banner.afdesignunraid-banner.svg If you want to match the font, it's a slightly modified (A, R & K) San Francisco UI from Apple, the exact name is SF UI Display Ultralight. I really like the pattern/texture ones, there's one that reminds one of the stock wallpapers of Red Hat's GNOME desktop: That last one just looks fun. ❤️
  16. Thanks for clarification. It would be better if it was clearly stated in a very obvious manner beforehand when you're on the trial. I just went through a long power outage and while hypervisors (an thus domain controllers were too) I had no DNS so I tried getting into my unRAID test server to find this offputting message. I had set it up considerably as a media management monster by this point so I was undecided if I should continue testing or scratch it. This is such a relief. I have to say, though, I went through some files in the server for some fine tuning to my network, one of those was /etc/hosts and learned unRAID's website's domain name was there already so I find it odd that it didn't obey it; my DCs/DNS might had been down but Internet connectivity wasn't.
